Hi ladies!

Just a few personals from what I can see...

Xant - Is that you in the pic? You look fabulous if it is!! Wootwoo! Glad to hear that things have settled with your ex.

Erin - Hope the changeover when smooth with your ex today. Sorry things have gotten nasty with him! I haven't gained weight either. I can afford to lose quite a few kilos so am not complaining!! I am still 1kg under my pre-pregnancy weight. I am quite happy that my baby girl is growing as she should be though. Glad you kept receipts - DH and I are quite fussy with receipts too!

Welcome Mamma Bear and Mof32b! Looking forward to getting to know you original.gif

Teleah - Holy crap! I hope you are ok and taking care! Baby still wiggling? No pains? Rest up!

Tash
- Hope your boys are behaving today!

Carrie - Get better! Hopefully your household will be much better now that you are on antibiotics! Like I said, sucks being pregnant and sick! bbighug.gif

Anyone heard from Meerkat? I've been worried about her too!! Hi if you're lurking! I hope you are ok! bbighug.gif

Nursery decorating - I am making my own things for the nursery. I purchased some material and have (almost) finished a quilt. I am also making a nappy stacker, spare cover for a snuggle bed and a few other bits and pieces. The theme is purple with yellow ducks. I have a pic up on the facebook site which no doubt many of you have seen lol.
Our baby will be in our room for at least 6 months. We have room to put her in her own room but I just like the comfort of having baby right next to me. I did the same with my other 2 as well.

Slings - I am going to make my own ring sling (Try to anyhow)! I was looking at my friends and gee it looks easy to make. Great for breastfeeding etc too!

AFM - My eldest went to her Dad's today too sad.gif I always miss her so much when she's there. I am sure he doesn't take as good a care of her as I do (don't all mum's feel like that!?) She's there for a week now.

I am still so excited about having a girl! I am pleased we found out as I was so worried about having a boy. Don't get me wrong, a boy would have been loved just as much, I just 'know' girls and how to deal with them!
There hasn't been a boy born on Mum's side of the family for 20 years and on Dad's my Pop has 16 great grandchildren, 14 of which are girls!!! I'm adding another lol.
This is all obviously apart from my little boy that we said goodbye to 5.5 years ago. No on acknowledges him except for me and DH anyhow.
I have 2 nephews on my husbands side.

Anyhow, enough rambling. DH is at work tonight so just me and my youngest here. I'll probably be lurking around a fair bit.

Hi to all I've missed! I have been reading, posting when I can! wub.gif

Hi all!

good to hear from you Erin. it is funny how little newborns - even "big" newborns - look after having other children!

I've been having hardcore braxton hicks for the past day or so. My belly is very tight and very uncomfortable! drinking tons of water. getting stuck into uni work with a vengeance as the exam period for this semester finishes only 3 days prior to my due date... I'm probably one of very few women who would rather my baby be overdue than even a little early lol.

anyway talk to you all soon x

Cityreader, I can't believe you have to worry about uni so close to your due date!! I can't imagine having to focus on uni stuff, work is hard enough! Well done you! cclap.gif What are you studying?

And for anyone considering moving in the next few months...DON'T DO IT!!! Errrrrrrrrrr! I am getting so stressed out with the idea of packing and organising selling furniture etc. I am being such a grumpy stress head- my poor husband blush.gif

Take care everyone!!

Hi All, hope you had a great weekend biggrin.gif

I am very excited as this week I am off to Adelaide to meet my family for a weekend of shopping and all things BABY!!! I cannot wait. Also have my 3D scan on saturday morning so I am just dying for this week to go quickly!! Will have to make sure I bury myself in work to make time tick along that little bit faster!

xant - wow you look awesome! I have only put on 3 kilos so far but have lost all definition and any sense of tone on my body!! Totally my own fault as I cannot bring myself to exercise after a long day at work and then having to come home and organise dinner. Will enjoy the excuse while it lasts, but looking forward to exercising when bub comes and we will have a bit of time on our hands (in between crying, feeding and sleeping of course!) biggrin.gif

welcome to mammabear!

We have added another girls name to our list.....Soraya. Would love to know what you all think? It is a little different and actually means princess in persian.....DP says its growing on him. This name picking thing is sooo hard!!

Morning Girls!

Deanne - I know a little Soraya and she's divine with black, tight ringlets. She is edible! Her parents are of middle eastern descent too. She's just gorge.

We took our puppy for her first walk yesterday and it was so great, she was actually awesome and got it after about 10 mins of fussing. We even stopped at a cafe for coffee and she didn't fuss over other dogs. We were thrilled.

I've caught Finn's croupy thing.... not feeling 100% but still, it could be worse. We're on the downward run to flying out on Friday and the boys are both so congested still. Here's hoping (blah to another) quiet week at home knocks all lingering bugs on the head!!

Natasha - sorry to hear that you are unwell. It's just that time of year, isn't it, especially when you've got small kids. Hope you feel better soon.

Erin - hope the visit with DD's father went ok. It's good to hear from you. Sorry about the persistent UTIs too. They sound nasty.

Carrie - hope you feel better soon too!!

Leo - I'm with Natasha on the boys names. Love Alexander, Harry and Hugo. Some people don't get excited about boys names, but I do!!

Mammabear and Sara welcome! biggrin.gif

Mummygirl - your nursery sounds really sweet and you are very organised to have been doing so much already. I've still got to clear out our guest room before I can start on it being converted to a nursery! unsure.gif

city reader - what are you studying? A 5 year combined degree was well and truly enough for me. I would really struggle going back to study now...! Good luck with everything!

Deanne - yay for your trip to Adelaide and finally being able to find out what you are baking in there!

Hooloovoo - great to hear from you. I'm very happy for you and wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Taleah - hope you are feeling ok after your fall - that would have freaked me out no end. Very exciting about the pram too - we've made our choice as well.

AFM: as I mentioned above, we've decided on a pram - the Baby Jogger City Select. It's got a lot of features that appeal to us and DH was impressed with the steering and suspension as well as how easily it came apart to fold into the boot (folds basically down to flat which is great). We also like how it can easily convert to a dual buggy when the time come to have No 2.

We are actually going to purchase it out of the USA and use an on-forwarder service (Baby Jogger HQ have clamped down on US sites sending the product outside of the USA, so we will utilise a service we've used before). They are basically 1/2 the price in the US compared to here, which is just disgraceful, especially given how strong our dollar is.

Now the biggest issue is choosing a colour - practical black (sorry "onyx") or injecting a bit of colour in and going with ruby or amethyst. I'm leaning towards basic black and then just livening it up with a colourful pram liner etc.

Not much else to report really. Went to a 1st birthday party yesterday and consumed my weight in delicious Italian food and a red velvet cake birthday cake which was made to look like a circus tent (it was a carnival theme). My friend went to a lot of effort!

Hi Everyone,

Another day of trying to entertain two children on school holidays while trying to work at home at the same time - joy !!!! (Note to self - request whole school holidays off work next time round).

Mummygirl - you sound like my sister, sewing all your own bedding etc., I wish I was talented in that area unsure.gif but fortunately I still have most of the baby stuff from my previous two so will be using that all again. It does take some of the excitement away, not having to go pram shopping and buy new sheets for the bassinet etc but it does save a lot of $$$ so I can't complain.

Names
I am a bit lost when it comes to choosing boys names - is it just me or is it much harder to come up with boys names than girls names ?? I have a list of about 10 girls names and only a couple of boys names that i dont mind but I don't love. Lucky i have another 20 weeks to think about it ....

Weight Gain
I have already gained about 6 kilos !!! I only gained 7 total with each of my prior two pregnancies. It is no one's fault but my own though - with the prior two I walked for half an hour every day and didnt eat like a starving woman all day long. wink.gif I need to just pull in the reins a bit and start eating sensibly again. I am hoping that the weight will come off quickly with breastfeeding like it did with the other two but there are no guarantees. I am also thinking that maybe when the weather improves I will feel a little more motivated to get out there and start exercising !
Is anyone else feeling fat and horrid at the moment ??

Well better get on with work so hope you all have a lovely day,

Mof32B

Hi ladies!

Another Monday! Where did the weekend go?? original.gif Hope you've all had a good one!

QUOTE (xant @ 15/07/2011, 01:59 PM) *
And hi to Anj who it looks like just posted far quicker than i did wink.gif

Haha Xant! That's just because I don't have too many interesting things to report! biggrin.gif I know someone's asked already but is that you in the pic?? Love your bump; such a neat one!

TaleahRose: Hope you're ok sweet! Falls always scare me. Have lots of rest!

CityReader: Wow, pretty full-on having uni exams so close to your due date! I'm very impressed that you're doing all this. I'm finding it difficult just to keep up with work these days. Good luck with it! Hope it's not too stressful!

Deanne: I really like Soraya! I think it's gorgeous! I know a couple of people with that name but they are both adults not young ones. Btw, enjoy your time with family and look forward to hearing your news from the 3d scan!

Carrie: Hope you're feeling better! It's been one after the other with the kids being sick huh? Take care of yourself!

Erin: How did the visit go? Hope it was not too stressful. And hugs to you re: UTIs. I know how painful they are and really hope they don't keep recurring for you!

Natasha: Hope you all recover quickly, in time for your trip! I swear by garlic tablets, not sure if they're of help in your case. Keep thinking of the holiday and all bugs will be gone before you get there!

Mof32b: Can I say, I'm envious of your past pregnancies of 7kgs all up! I don't weigh myself so won't find out for another week and a bit (until my next dr's appointment) as to how much more I've put on. I had already put on 4kgs at 20 weeks and I've certainly popped out since so will find out soon enough... I did take my dogs for a walk today so don't feel too bad about the constant urge to eat!!!

Hi to Mummygirl, Melbo, Leo, Kelly, Hazely, Bluebelle, Tania, Linda (if you're still reading), Bec, BeckyFreeze and everyone else! Welcome also to the newbies!

AFM: Went to check out MCNs over the weekend. I was planning on just having a look but fell in love with the pretty designs and ending up putting myself down for a whole pile! They are so cute!! I've got a bit of a payment plan happening so won't get them till mid-August but am so excited!! I know, it's probably a bit weird to be so enthusiastic about nappies but they are really so cute! original.gif We might also be getting the car seat soon. I think the pram will need to wait for now. Definitely planning on getting a sling first and then worrying about the pram. I did make a list of things we still need to buy and we're slowly going to work our way through.

Anyways, I'd best get back to work!

Taleah Rose and Bluebelle - I'm doing a BA. I first started in 2000, but have taken really long breaks here and there as needed for work, babies etc. Thankfully my uni are totally cool with that! However I'm very, very driven to get the damn thing finished, after all I turn 32 this year! And I want to do postgrad. Will finish next year then hopefully straight onto postgrad.

Mof32b - I agree boys names are harder to pick. We were so set on our girls name we're both kind of hoping it's a girl just so we can name her that laughing2.gif Of course we'll be very happy with a boy too, but while we're set on our chosen first name we can't pick out a middle name for him!

As for weight I've also put on 6kg and yep the weight is piling on much quicker this pregnancy. It doesn't bode well for me. I think I'll be pretty upset with myself post-baby!

Erin - hope everything is ok with you.

Deanne - enjoy your shopping. I like Soraya too.

Shoutouts to xant (looking hot!), myfirstbubba, Anj, natasha, melbo, mummygirl, carrie, leo, mammabear and anyone else I've missed! bbighug.gif
