I'm pretty sure all the codes in our books (and we have all of the darn things, reading books, work books, flash cards) are only for the free 2 week trial so I haven't used any.

I was silly and paid for 2 Two year subscriptions only to find out that the kids' school decided to pay and set up an account for both of them too.

I've spent a fortune but it is a fantastic program!

The codes in books are different these are trial codes from all over the world.

And you know what.... I was planning to get the 2yr subscription so I will do that anyway and my kids will get it for even longer plus saving so much now I will probably buy the whole book packs too.

Are these codes out of the books?

Yahoo! I can have a subscription for free, to a system that has been set up as a business.

Hmmm, If so I would be considering this stealing. sad.gif Don't complain about your kid's ethics.

I'm preparing to be flamed!

I agree that loading up all the codes so you get months and months of free access to be stealing.

I used a 5 week code last year and then signed up for 2 years.

It is a business at the end of the day and abusing the discount codes system is outside of my own ethics.

Wow!! Thanks so much!

lynnemine if you go onto the reading eggs website, you can join your child up and they do 'lessons'. If you use these codes that were posted by debra8th, you can get it for free for many weeks, instead of having to pay for a subscription.
The reading eggs website explains about the redemption of codes a little better.

All these codes put onto my DS's account has enabled him to use Reading Eggs for free until the 25th of October 2012.

thanks for the explanation - I hadn't logged into their website yet.

Thanks for this! I just put them all in and they worked for both DD1 & DS. Didn't expect the codes to work for more than one child on the account biggrin.gif

Hi
My son and daughter both have accounts but where do I see how long until it expires? I have looked everywhere and cannot see it. I was going to try a couple of the codes.

Rubbish, this is absolutely not stealing, no more so than if a company is handing out free samples of some new soft drink in the street? Is it stealing to take a free sample even if you haven't paid for a can of the stuff at the supermarket? What if you take a free sample for yourself and your friend, or you go back the next day and they are still handing them, out so you take another? It's an analogous situation.

The business knows we are doing this. It would be easy for them to prevent if they wished to, but clearly they don't want to prevent people from taking advantage of multiple codes. My guess is that the business model is built around selling the books and other support materials. Clearly they are succeeding - Reading Eggs is booming in several countries.

I hope that my children learn to make the best possible use of their time, money and other resources. If that's the kind of "ethics" you mean, I do hope mine learn this from me original.gif

I've got a bad case of baby brain , can someone explain to me how to do this. We already have a subscription, so I need to know specifically how to add the codes like others seem to have done, to extend it...

TIA x
