SILVER!!!

Tina, don't worry about book will order elsewhere. I'll pre order the other one too, hopefully it's on Kindle. I'll check tees/singlets tomorrow to confirm.

Did Matilda Bay 10k, running well until I needed a loo stop, had to walk before toilets so lost alot of time and never got back my mojo. Gun time 55:30, at least I know I can improve. Had a great 5k recovery run this evening with my running chicks along Cottesloe Beach - beautiful.

Back tomorrow for personals.

Bronze!! Probably be the only time I gett third amongst this company ever!! Lol!

Think I'll look into those running mother books - they seem well recommended.

Loubee - very jealous of your runs around Matilda Bay and Cott! Am a western suburbs girl originally so long for those beautiful places original.gif

Ah the story of my life..... 4th!

Hello ladies. Great to see the running around the country. I have not had a fun run since Sussan Womens Fun Run in December. I have been running however. Doing my training and going through a real slow patch. I have been really slamming myself with Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper workout DVD's. Concentrating a lot of lower body and core. I am putting my slowness down to that. My only hope is that it all balances out and my new strength converts to speed.
I have a 10km fun run on Australia day. Down Mornington Peninsular way. From Safety Beach to Rosebud. Hoping for good weather and will see how my time goes.

Gee Lou! 55mins for someone who is a long distance runner and a loo break. You certainly rock! I am in awe.

Little DCJ- Hope the PT session goes well. You guys are in for some more hot weather too I see. Happy year of the dragon.

Toobubba- I am jealous of the pool recoveries! You have been doing great training. Are you following a specific training regime?

Molondy- How is your strength work and then running going? Slow like me?

Hello everyone else.

You know you are an obsessive runner when...........
Mine is that we have almost planned our whole fun run calendar for the year!

Morning Ladies.

LittleDCJ – sounds like you had a nice week away. And yum to chinese food.

Loubee – You’d’ve had a great day of running yesterday with another run at Cottesloe. Was your 12km race warm up a cycle to the start?

Jenjams – when you put your slowness down to the DVD’s, is it because you’re aching afterwards? Just interested, as I thought it would speed you up. Good luck for the Australia Day 10km – a good chance to see how it’s all going.

Molondy – I hear you with the early morning runs. They just feel so hard. I’ve started running a couple of mornings before work, and it’s a killer. I only have time for 5kms though.

Percy – Well done on your PB. I did the same when I last attempted a PB. I ran the first 3kms at what I thought I should run to get a PB, and just couldn’t maintain it. I didn’t get my PB.

Cheri – hope you’re feeling better.

2Bubb – so jealous of the pool. We’re seriously considering a pool, but hubby is not liking having less in the bank. I figure it’s a lifestyle investment.

Me – a quiet weekend here. Hubby is working most weekends now, making scheduling running even harder. As for time together, we can forget that. Spent time at the beach or at a friends pool with my 3 year old.

On the running front, I’m just slogging away. Managed just over 10km yesterday. So slow that the buses were stopping for me. But I did it, and could have kept going, which is always good. Just concentrating on building up the endurance again without worrying too much about speed. I’m finding it hard to get the time for long runs with hubby’s changed shift patterns.

Two questions; my average heart rate has reduced over the same distance and speed, which means that I’m getting fitter. But the run still feels too hard for me to speed up - I feel like I'm running faster, but when I check, I'm not. Is it time to start the speedwork sessions?

And; what kind of pace/heart rate would I run at for aerobic running? I read in Runners World that for running 10km, you should train aerobically, but it didn’t really say much more. I really need to break 55mins for 10km.

I guess I should go do some work. Happy running

edited for spelling

Hi
Sorrrento-We just have an above ground pool. Got it from Toys R us on special 2009 christmas for $250! It is 4ft deep, 4mtrs by 4mts. So quite a good size. It took me a year to sell it to my husband. We always grew up with a pool and it gets stinking hot in Summer. He was worried about maintenance but I do all of the maintenance around here so now he loves it! Not sure about heart rate with your runs. What my pt used to say was 80% at max effort, so for my sprints would do that with a 2 min rest inbetween sets. The others might know more.
Jenjams-Yeah we are following the runners world 2hrs or bust program. I did the Gold Coast program last time, pro's and cons for both. Good luck with your Australia Day Run, sounds great, and you can do beach recovery at the end, what more could you want!
Loubee-Well done even with a toilet stop.
Percy-I am going to look at those books too, they sound great.
Had a massage today, feels so much better. My legs moved in one block instad of individual muscles. Day off for me today, woo hoo

jenjams - last week was pretty good actually. I did an all body workout on Monday which hurt on Tuesday but I did a cardio workout anyway. Wednesday was running. Thursday I did upper body work so that my Friday run was good. I think If I'd done much leg work on Wednesday my legs would be buggered. I think the trick is to do just enough work on your legs...

ssorrento - unfortunately early mornings are the only time I can run. I actually don't mind it - It gives me less time to think up an excuse not to go! But its getting pretty hot for running after about 6:30am. I find anything over about 24 makes it a bit of a struggle...

Nothing for me today though - its POURING here....

Another mother tops:

I've just emailed my order through. They'll send me a Paypal invoice once they know an accurate postage cost. This is what I've ordered, please let me know asap if anything is incorrect.

2bubbas - Another mother runner, singlet, sz small
Molondy - Another mother runner, singlet, sz medium
me - Badass mother runner, long sleeve, sz extra small
ssorento - Badass mother runner, short sleeve, sz medium

It's been the night for ordering running stuff. I've just ordered a new pair of shoes and 5 pr shoes for the kids. I've also ordered a running light from roadID.

Started back at running group this morning. We did a 2km time trial and I did it in 9:22. I pushed myself hard the last 100m or so passing people and was so close to vomiting once I stopped. I 'heaved' twice but managed to keep my half banana down. We then did a shuttle run, 3x 1.5min with 1min rest and boy it was tough.

Best get to bed. Meeting a girl from running group at 6am for some hills running. Then DH and I are going to indulge in some crayfish for dinner. We had 4 in the freezer in the shed but yesterday I musn't have closed the freezer door tight and it's all defrosted and needs to be eaten, what a shame. We're going to a friend's house and we'll each have a crayfish each!!!

Happy Australia Day!!!!

Little Dcj-Yes correct, in pink! Great job on the 2km time trial!
Molondy-Great job on the workouts.
Did 6kms yesterday in heat, felt quite good. Think I am going to need it woth the scorching temps that WA are having at the moment. Got my new shoes yesterday, YAY. Got Trans and Ravenna's. Got them from US trhough Bongo this time, quite reasonable postage. Can't wait to try them out because my feet are so sore from my other runners.
Happy Running
