Ds started high school this year and they went to camp before school even started. He was fine as he had come from the junior school so had friends going. I really felt for the kids who were going who had come from a primary school on their own. It turned out to be the best thing for all of them. They started school on Monday and everyone was happy to be there and had someone to hang out with. There were little groups standing around everywhere with new kids and old.
Please don't discount the importance of camp as a bonding experience. DS has anxiety and terrible trouble sleeping and did get a little upset during the night, but the positives far outweighed the negatives. This post has been edited by polidot: 09/02/2012, 08:34 AM |
