Just finished reading Kinglake 350 about the Victorian bushfires. So captivating I couldn't put it down and read it in two days.

pen On Chesil Beach was the first McEwen book I read and it just left me gobsmacked. The way he totally turns your perceptions around about the characters is mindblowing - just fabulous writing.

I found On Chesil beach so depressing! I was just waiting for the good bit.
On the reccommendation of the book club disscussion thread I have just finished Lola's Secret and Water for Elephants. I have now just picked up Paris Wife so far so good with this one, I wasn't sure what to expect but I am enjoying it. Lanthetwere your two books like worth reading? Book 2 of the Game of Thrones series.
I spent most of book one trying to figure out who was who and who was on whose side, I think I have it sorted now and I am really enjoying it. |

Just finished 'The Help' which is the first non fiction book I have read in a really long time. I actually enjoyed it.
Currently reading, 'Ideas. A History From Fire to Freud,' which is more my cup of tea. Mmmm, tea. |
