Hi guys, Violet is sleeping and DH has gone on an 'adventure' (bus ride ) with DD, so I finally have time to check in here

Thanks for all the lovely comments. We're thrilled to have her here finally. She's such a little sweetheart

3cubs- Thanks so much for posting when you had so much going on yourself. How is your DS going? What a scary thing to happen

P!NK I was giggling to myself when you announced Scarlett's name We do indeed all have wonderful taste in names Elizabeth is a family name for us too (both my mums and gmas middle name, who also shared a birthday which is only 3 days after Violet's birthday).

The birth itself was amazing- so different to last time which was LOOOOONG with very fullon contractions. I had contractions all day Friday but they were so minor I wasn't sure if they would fizzle out or not. I was only sure I was in labour at about 7.30 but even then they were very manageable. At around 9pm they started getting serious and I called the birth centre to say I would be in overnight some time, but that I was still coping well at home. At 9.30 they started coming very close together so we called the birth centre back and said we would be in soon. We left at 10.05, got to the birth centre at 10.25, and she was born at 10.39 (was hoping for a waterbirth but the water wasn't even knee deep before she arrived lol ). Even in the car on the way in I was saying to DH that I hope they don't send us home because it was about a 40 minute drive for my student midwife and I'd feel bad if she had to go home again! Well, the poor thing didn't quite make it, despite leaving when we did...

P!NK that just sounds dreadful with the mastitis I'm currently ridiculously engorged and trying my best to avoid mastitis! Violet feeds frequently but doesn't come close to draining even one boob per feed

Flyingkiwi- Not long to go. Don't worry about the TV!!!! I was the same with Lucy at the end and I felt guilty too. She's actually watching much less now (mostly cos DH is home I suppose ). I think Max is a bit younger than Lucy right? DO NOT LET HIM DROP HIS NAP lol. Lucy dropped hers for about a month and it turned into a nightmare. She's back on the daysleep bandwagon and is a much happier little girl for it.

Sorry everyone else, lame attempt at personals I know, hopefully I'll be back on to do a better job in the next few days (well I'll need to be Flyingkiwi anyway!).
