My son decided he wanted to go on a boys ski trip (with dad), staying overnight and doing a ski lesson for his bday (which falls in July), rather than a big friend party. I dont know why but I feel bad, as 5th birthday is meant to be 'the big one' LOL I'm being silly arn't I?? I am thinking of suggesting he chooses a couple of friends to take to the movies.Anyone else not had a big friend 5th?

I don't think that it is an issue, not having a party. We do have a party every year for our kids. Nothing big, just parties at home. They do love it and spend the whole year thinking about the next one. So, for us it is a family tradition.
If it were us, the kids would have the skiing holiday (we go every year anyway and the kids start learning at 3) and then have a little party with their friends at home. ETA: QUOTE staying overnight and doing a ski lesson for his bday Since you are skiers, you probably realise this already. When the kids first learn, we take them for 5 days of skiing. One day, won't be enough for them to get confident or proficient. This post has been edited by tothebeach: 12/03/2012, 03:50 PM |
