Has anyone heard positive reviews about the following schools:
1. Seabrook Primary school in point cook
2. Heathdale Christian College in Hoppers Crossing

I am strongly considering sending my daughter to Seabrook but have heard good reviews about heathdale as well (althou' its a bit of a commute).
Really appreciate if anyone has feedback to share about these schools or any other good schools in the point cook/hoppers crossing area.

Can't help with Seabrook Primary, but Heathdale has a great reputation. It also runs some great programs. I guess more so later primary/high school, but students have the opportunity to take part in music programs (the students put together and run their own show - they organise, promote and perform with the advise of teachers and outside advisors); they also have a business program where students run their own mock businesses and experience and 'Business Week' where various professionals come in and help the kids with their mock businesses and run seminars - my DH has been a presenter several times. They also have a good language program with trips to China every second year (not sure on other languages).

One thing you do need to consider with Heathdale is that it is a Christian school and religion is a big part of school life.

I have family members who send their kids to both those schools & they are both extremely happy. The child that goes to Heathdale commutes from Point Cook. They get a lot of homework at Heathdale compared to Seabrook & even compared to my own kids who are at a catholic primary school. As for other schools in Hoppers, unless you are in their zone there is no way you would be able to get into the more sought after ones unfortunately.

I have heard good things about the catholic primary schools in Point Cook & have a friend who teaches at Stella Maris who is a fantastic teacher & sends her own children to the school. I have other close friends with children at Westbourne who are happy, one in particular raves about the junior campus at Williamstown.

Good luck with your decision, I am currently 'school shopping' for my DS as I don't think my girls school will suit his needs, but dislike the public school we are zoned for & have no chance of getting into my school of choice for him due to it being zoned and capped You would also need to be in the zone to be considered for Seabrook apparently, so that may be something you have to look into.

My BIL went to heathdale, and we attend a church with many current and past teachers and students. My friend's child goes there and my niece is on the list. Fantastic school by all accounts I've heard, if we weren't homeschooling it's what I'd choose.

Hi Ladies,

What are your thoughts about the Carranballac primary school at Jamieson way?

My DS starts prep next year. Unfortunately he didn’t make the cut at Westbourne Grammar and Heathdale due to enormous number of applicants who applied before us L

The only public school in my zone is Carranballac. All the reviews I have found online are 4-5 years old. Not sure what the current status of this school is. Any reviews (even second hand ) will greatly help.

Also, are there any other good primary schools in the area where I can apply?

I am not sure about Carranballac but we send our DS to Altona P-9 College. It is on cnr civic and Grieve Parades in Altona. it is a bit of a commute, we started him there before we moved out to Point Cook. We love it though, great teachers, really small school with small class sizes. The Principal is really hands on and knows exactly what is going on with each family and students/classes. Our son is really academic and is doing really well but I know that even the kids that aren't so inclined are doing pretty well too.
