Hi folks, I want to buy some pea pods from somebody who is selling quite a few cheap. They have are 2 types, both pretty much the same size but slightly different shape, and the inserts are different. In one sort the insert is one thick piece, and in the other sort the insert is 2 thinner pieces sewn togther around the edges.

Hope Im making sense here! Does anybody know which type are newer, and can anyone comment on which type is better, or any differences?
TIA

The ones that aren't peapods are better wink.gif

I hate peapods. We had nothing but leaks. They never worked for my kids.

I used pea pods for DS and I loved them!! Never had a leak. In all my research I found that the general attitude is one of love/hate.

But like I said they were great. I had Medium and they worked from 6mths to now. He is 12kgs now and we are TT so I have a stash I need a home for too cry1.gif maybe time for number 3??

I love my pea pods too, had a few leaks when DS was very little but not for ages now. They were definitely the best value for money in my stash.

I'm not sure about the different shapes and inserts. I bought mine about 18 months ago and they have one flat booster that is folded into 3 before stuffing in the pocket. The booster is 2 layers I believe though.

They are the small size and still fitting DS at nearly 10 monthsand 10kg. There is more room in the waist still but I think he will grow out of the rise soonish.

Not sure if that really helps you or not.

The smaller oblong inserts made of microfibre are meant to be overnight boosters - to help out the bamboo square for heavy wetters.

I got lots of use out of mine.

The are now happily covering another baby's bottom and have been going a total of 3 years.

No leaks at all.

Some did have the plasticiser separate from the cloth outer - but the manufacturer gave us replacements

See Ive had quite a few people say they love them unsure.gif
I have been told they are good for skinny bubs and not good for chubby bubs as they fit small around the legs

but my bub is skinny and the lady is selling them really cheap so I was just curious on the differences....

I have been using the small peapods on DD. I find them great, although I like itti bittis better as they are much cuter! The inserts are oblong and you fold them into thirds, you can also buy an oblong booster as PP has said. I would suggest that perhaps an insert has been lost and the owner is using two boosters instead? You can always buy replacement boosters from peapods anyhow. DD is a chubby 4.5 months and the small still have a few more months of use left in them. Having said that, my advice would be to get mediums and larges and use OSFM or other nappies until they fit.

Cheers

Love peapods!
Im a part time user and have a small and medium that still fit my 10 kilo dd (17 months) she had really chunky legs and we have had no problems.

The sewed around the edges is the bamboo insert that gets folded and the other one is a night time booster :-)
