Hi,

I am wondering if anyone can recommend a place to go camping near Margaret River? Does not need to be an actual camp grounds with toilets, quite happy to rough it lol!! Google is not being very helpful

Contos national park campground is fantastic, such a beautiful location, great facilities and only about 20 mons from Margaret River town. Pit toilets, no showers. Great beach. We stayed for two weeks as our base and did day trips from there.

Taunton Farm, Cowaramup - animals to feed, jumping pillow and great facilites. Next door to Palandri Wines & Cheese factory.

Not roughing it but great place and lots to see all around

It's been a really long time since we went there, but Alexandra Bridge has a nice but basic campsite, (with toilets and a cold outdoor shower). It's off the Brockman Hwy near Karridale. I haven't stayed there, just had a picnic, but it was nice. It's right on the Blackwood river, very scenic. Not sure of cost, I believe it is a CALM site, so it's probably cheap.

Boranup campground. It is in the middle of Boranup forest. Looks awesome. would be quite cold though. Have not stayed there yet but definitely on my list!

I just realised it will be school holidays when we want to go though, so not sure if it will be too busy down there or not!
