I will get to a doctor, but it will be a while before I can. I'm just freaking out and would like some ideas as to what this could be!

My AF has been getting progressively heavier and more painful over the past several months. Not drastically, just slowly. My last AF seemed a few days early (wasn't keeping track), and the most painful and heavy I have had yet. Two weeks later and I'm crampy and have brown spotting for two days now. Also over the past few months I have started spotting for a day or two before AF begins which is also new. What could it be?

Not on contraception, not pregnant. Please help, or I'm going to freak out until I can get in to my doc!

I'm not sure but will keep an eye on this topic as mine has been doing this as well. I am kind of putting it down to my age, I'm 37. I keep track of them on my iphone app and they are as regular as ever, just the last 4-5 months quite heavy and painful. Then this one that just finished was a breeze.

Age?

I have been similar, but geting AF cramping pretty much all month, then AF shows early or this month not at all so far.

I'm wondering if Endo is the cause of mine, as I had this mentioned when I was young, and in my case, perhaps gets worse with age.....maybe a possibility for you?

UPDATE for those with similar issues or interested: I now have continuous pain in one side. I ended up in ED on tuesday night, they think its an ovarian cyst, sent me home with instructions to come back if the pain gets worse.

I'm still in pain so I went to the doctor today, and have been referred urgently to the gyny for tomorrow. Tired of feeling so crappy!

Yeah i had that last year. Mine slowly burst - OMG was soooo painful. I had another bout last month so i think it's back again. I get sore on one side constantly then every 2 months with AF agony. I just had scans to make sure it went also it had fluid which they had to make sure isn't cancer ( we had family history of ovarian cancer) I feel for you - i have never had anything so painful! and seems like i'm back with it again sad.gif

Polyps or fibroids? I had 2 uterine polyps but it wasn't painful, just bleeding for 3 or so months almost constantly.

Hi Giggleandhoot, have they recommended the pill to you? They told me I would be best off on it as its supposed to prevent cysts from forming. And basically they reckon my AF is only going to get worse and worse until I'm spotting half the month if I don't take it. sad.gif I feel sorry for you, I've heard that when they burst its agony. The doctor at the ED reckoned that mine wont, I don't know how he knows that though! Hopefully he is right.

Have you had an internal ultrasound to see the ovaries?
