Ok DD said no to the pyjamas.
Do you think I should give out party bags or something equivalent? If so any ideas? I'm trying to make this party cheap. This post has been edited by MCMama: 10/04/2012, 09:40 PM |

You could do party bags before the movie? make that their movie snacks, with a couple of bowls of fresh popped popcorn to share.
Or .. if you wanted to give them something to keep, the supermarkets here often have pretty glasses/containers - like tall icecream sundae glasses, or plastic popcorn buckets (look like the popcorn boxes from the movies, but plastic). You could get something like that, and fill them with lollies for the movies, and they take their cup home with them. Usually pretty cheap, and you are going to want some lollies etc for the movie anyway. |

Thanks for all you help Julie. This post has been edited by MCMama: 11/04/2012, 11:51 AM |

Woolies often has something. Sometimes at the end of the aisles, or the party stuff, or in the plastic wares.

I did an almost sleepover party for my DDs 7th birthday. It was great!
All the kids came in their pjs at 4pm. They played, opened presents. I bought pizza bases & they made their own pizzas. Then they had Icecream cake for the cake but I had lots of toppings so they could make Icecream sundaes. After that we made popcorn, set them all up on the lounge with blankets and cushions and they watched Tangled. Pick up was 8.30 from memory. For party bags I sent them all home with milk and cookies (just long life containers of strawberry milk from the supermarket) and biscuits I baked. It was wonderful. The girls loved it (we had 4 little girls) and it was just like a sleepover but without the stress of scared little girls staying the night. Have fun |

I have seen those plastic popcorn boxes in the aisles in random places in Woolies before too. I have also seen them with party stuff at discount stores.
Since the discussions have begun for DD1's birthday my twins have started talking about theirs and want a sleepover. It's way too soon to talk about it with them now but a movie and pizza night is a much better idea. This post has been edited by mumto3princesses: 14/04/2012, 09:30 PM |

My DD went to a similar party last year. I think they did make your own pizzas, went in pj's, all took a movie with them and then they picked from those. I think they had a chocolate fountain thing with fruit for dipping for dessert and birthday cake
