Save me Barry!
who was happy for my daughter to trot along and see the penguins with you, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you also for telling me where I could get a good coffee and having a big smile for me

To the other mother who kept giving me filthy looks while I undertook the very difficult job of giving my son something to eat while he fidgeted and bucked and made a mess due to his inability to chew and swallow properly, well, you can go ............ yourself. Honestly, I was not having a fun time, I clearly did not look like I was having a fun time and your disapproving looks really didn't help at all

sorry, needed to get that out LOL

Isn't it amazing what a difference a friendly face and a smile can make to your day. I'm sorry you were faced with someone not quite so blessed with tact, but I'm very thankful there are still people like the first Mum you mention out there:)

Oh Lyra, I'm so sorry to hear about the second mother. But at least you met the first one too, so today didn't totally suck. original.gif. I do wish there were more like her out there though. People like that can make an awful day so much brighter.

I hope you all enjoyed the penguins!

Thanks ladies! I didn't make it clear in my first post but this all happened at the same time. I was trying to get food into my boy and my girl had finished her morning tea and was wanting to go off to see the penguins. I was quite snippy with her (not enough coffee and too many head bangs from my boy) and that was when nasty mum started to give me filthy looks and nice mum stepped in with 'you can come with us' I seriously could have kissed her.

Honestly, there are days where I have the patience of a saint and there are days where clearly I don't. I just don't appreciate being judged on the days where things are not going smoothly for me

so glad you met the first mother who showed kindness. There should be people like that. For what it's worth - I think you are amazing dealing with all you do and keeping yourself sane.

I guess that shows how differently two people can judge a situation. I'm glad the nice mum stepped up and took your daughter to see the penguins. Did she enjoy them?

Yes, the penguins were a hit. The last few times we have been, the penguins have been hiding and today they were out in force.

I've come into say that my boy loved the baboons. They were going crazy leaping around and making that noise that they make. He giggled and laughed and turned himself inside out with excitement. And, all my daughter had to say at dinner tonight was 'those baboons sure were crazy today' and he started up again with the laughing

wub.gif That's so awesome. I'm glad he loved the baboons so much. I have to admit I find baboons amusing. And my boys all find the word baboon hysterically funny and burst into fits at giggles if anyone says it. So I completely get where your boy is coming from. biggrin.gif

I'm glad they both enjoyed their day. I hope you did too Lyra. xxx

Yay for the first Mum and Boo Hiss to the second.

I don't have to deal with half you do Lyra, but I find I have days were I cope fine and endless patience and then others when, well there just isn't any left. You are doing a brilliant job, even on those bad days, so don't let the Boo Hiss Mum get to you!

Maybe on the days when things are not so great, you need to walk around muttering Baboons wink.gif Never know it might give you a giggle happy.gif
