Has anyone read the triology yet? Apparently it was written as fanfiction in response to Twilight and because of its popularity, has been picked up by a publishing house. A few changes later and it is a best seller.

I am amazed that the first book is the top of the NYT Best sellers List and as yet, there has been no thread about it!

I have read them. ohmy.gif

Any thoughts?

Hmm Twilight fanfic? Think I'll pass wink.gif

I was thinking that maybe the Black Dagger readers would like this one. wink.gif

Oh I thought Twilight was a load of garbage. It was mildly entertaining if badly written until the last one, then it descended into total tripe. I only read it so I could make an informed review, it's a week of my life I'll never get back.

My girlfriend insisted I should read these. I started the first book (on Kindle) and I can see why it is popular but I haven't got very far into it.

Ok I will ask what is Kindle?

Party of 5 - It is an ebook reader.

I have the three of them on my kindle ready to read but haven't been able to make myself read them! I have heard mixed reviews, but due to the fact the first one topped the NYT Best Sellers list i thought i should at least have a go at reading them!

Badly written and fairly boring.

Yep, I listened to the hype, bought a copy (thankfully only cost $9 at BigW) and just thought WTF? Skimmed it and cast it aside.

Will be donating it to the school fete this year along with Nikki Gemmell's underwhelming 'With my body' (follow up to the Bride Stripped Bare) which by comparison is better written (not hard) and I think has more sex in it.

To be honest, the writing is poor and the plot/characters are totally implausible (but maybe that is what fan fiction is?? I don't know, haven't read any before).

Not all of it, but most of it LOL! (Especially most Twilight fanfic!)

I had never heard of this until a vague FB post yesterday now I understand! *debates whether or not to read it*

I couldn't put the books down although I wouldn't say I loved them.

I did think that the main character, Christian Grey, was downright irresistible at times but at others he was just scary. ffear.gif

I tried to read it: flipping through in bookstore and sampling on Kindle.

I do NOT understand what the fuss is. It is an appalling book and should never have been published (but I also think this about Twilight)

I am part way through the first one and have the other two on my Kobo waiting for me.

I am enjoying it so far. But then I am enjoying it for what it is - as my husband calls it - mummy porn! I am not reading it for a fantastic storyline or well thought out characters etc. It would be classed as erotica - pure and simple. Which I am a little partial to wwhistle.gif ph34r.gif

In fact it was my DH who read the review of it in the paper, and suggested I read it cool.gif
