Hi there,

The time has come for a new thread, opened on behalf of Freckles.

The link to the old thread is here. Enjoy!

Anyone use fresh yeast? How do you find it? How do you store it? How long does it last?

I've only ever used dried yeast, just wondering about dried v fresh!

I've wondered that too, I've only used dried yeast and dd isn't too keen on my bread, maybe the live yeast would make a difference?

More carrot sticks please
Don't know anything about fresh v dried yeast, sorry.

I seem to have an addiction to vanilla creme patissere. I'm making a batch every few days - and the kids don't even like it that much, so I'm eating it all myself! cool.gif

I've never used the real yeast either, though I have made sourdough from scratch with no added yeast original.gif .

yummo! We just had Baf's chicken from Forum Thermomix.

Delicious! I was a bit dubious of the white cheesey sauce to look at it but once I tasted it I couldn't get enough. Stopped short of licking the play wink.gif

I am hanging out to try a few of the other variations that are listed in the recipe.

We tried this tonight too and the kids loved it. Very nice especially as I'd been at work all day and wanted a nice satisfying meal! I'm going to try the variations that have been suggested for it too.

After 18 months of owning my TM I made the Sticky Date Pudding from the EDC the other night and O.M.G it is sooooooo good. It was even better heated up the next day too. I can't believe the recipe was there all that time in my kitchen and I never made it!!!

OK, after 2 1/2 years with the TMX I made Baf's chicken ... and it was good! Not great, but good and the kids really liked it original.gif . I used my chicken concentrate which I think helped (the kids prefer it to the vegie concentrate) and next time I'll steam the chicken a shorter time as it was a bit overdone but was still gobbled up original.gif .

My chicken was also somewhat overdone, although the cheese sauce covers a multitude of sins. I thought that I would cut up the pieces a bit larger next time. We also didn't need quite as much potato as in the recipe so rather than 500g then maybe 350g next time. The veggies all went so I will increase that next time - we used carrots and runner beans.

I also used my chicken concentrate as well and that seemed to work fine. I need to make up a new batch of veggie concentrate. Just waiting for an all day off when I can just stay at home all day cooking up a storm.

I have some cooking books coming too - I got the Gluten Free cookbook as I have extended family members who are gluten free, the Asian one and also Meat on the Menu. Mothers Day presents original.gif

Right that is coming up soon. I haven't tried it yet either!
