Another sunrise, another day to get it right
Hi everyone,

I've been thinking lately and I want to get my nipple pierced, not that you all need to know that though happy.gif but I don't know how to explain it to my children. They see me topless a lot and are still young. I have a daughter who will be a teenager soon and I still haven't allowed her to get her ears done (13th birthday present) so I am kinda scared to explain it to her.

Has anyone had this discussion with their children? If you have do you mind sharing? If you haven't, how do you think you would go about it?

I can wait another 10 years to make sure they never see me naked again, but I know I'm just being a wimp. We're a pretty open family, I'm just not sure how to explain why I wanted to get a nipple pierced heheh huh.gif

If they're really young (say, up to age 4) I wouldn't worry too much about explaining it at all, just tell them it's like another piece of jewellery. They'll probably be 'meh' about it anyway, most small kids will accept just about anything and not ask too many questions.

Cripes, I couldn't do it. I can just imagine them talking about it at school.

When I was teaching high school I remember overhearing a conversation between some students about one student's Mother's piercings.

"Yeah, she's got sh*t all over (lists where) it is for kinky sex stuff (cue revolted 'yuck' noises from her friends)...yeah... my mother is a total gross mole.."

Just putting it out there.

Nipple piercing? I just did that sucky inny sound through my teeth.

I suppose you explain it like you would a tattoo. Something that adults do sometimes. If you want to keep the fact that you have a nipple piercing private, I wouldn't be doing it while your kids were young. They're blabbermouths.

Cobwebs are the new black!
I have my navel and lip done. TBH they have never really asked why or if they can get pierced (8, 6 and 4). They just seem to consider it jewellery in the same way my earrings, bracelets and necklaces are original.gif

I think it a bit hypocritical you have made your older DD wait until her 13th birthday to get her ears done, but you want to get your nipple done.
