Stuffing for a roast bird this is one Mum used for goose but it would work with a chicken too..
6 large apples peeled, coreed , sliced and soaked in rum for 4 hours
3 chopped sage leaves
pinch nutmeg or mace
3 cups breadcrumbs
German Apple cake
or just stew them and bung them in the freezer for when the chorus of "Not apple crumble AGAIN!" has died down!
A spoonful of stewed apple is great on your cereal or porridge plus a handy addition to any muffin or pudding recipe you are making.
