I'm advanced but not too advanced
I am looking at applying for a position.

I currently do volunteer work - so am not officially employed. Is it OK to put the organisation that I volunteer for as a current employer or is it best to just leave that section blank? (I volunteer in an organisation that is in the same field as the job I wish to apply for).

Thanks.

I would put it in there, but just make sure it is clear that you volunteer

I would absolutely include that - just make sure you include that your job is a volunteer position! It will dramatically increase your chances of getting the job!

Absolutely!

Write *job title* (volunteer) . As PP said it will help put you on the top of the pile!

Good luck!

Thanks for those replies - I will include it.

Do potential employers contact current employers - or is this done if/when you get to the interview stage?

I would put it in there! Just make sure you list your position as a volunteer.

It depends on the employer, but I would assume that they would contact current/past employers just to be safe original.gif
