I am thinking about buying some stacker rings - like the Tiffany celebration rings. I thought it would be nice to mark special milestones with jewellery. I would like something that looks nice for everyday wear - something classy.

I have an art deco inspired engagement ring and a claw set diamond band for a wedder.

I would like to celebrations rings for each time a child is born. The idea would be to eventually give the child 'their' piece of jewellery.

I am so undecided on what to pick though! Do I pick a few different styles? One style to be the 'main' ring and then have the same rings on either side of that for a symmetrical look?

Do you have stacker rings? How do you wear them? I would love to see them!

And if you have any jewellery for special milestones - what is your story? What made you pick your piece?

I have deco style engagement ring with five diamonds. We will have a copy of it made for my left hand with a central diamond and four amethysts - the diamond representing Himself and the other stones for our four children.

To me my engagement ring is precious as accepting it was my commitment to Himself and a life together, it just turned out to also perfectly reflect my family, which is why we will replicate it.

I also selected a focus stone before I had each of my children, to have during labour. As each child reaches 16, I will have them made into a piece of jewellery that refelcts their own style.

I have a ring which we choose and had made just before our daughter was born, a pink diamond for her and 10 diamonds (5 each side - square & brilliant cut alternates) - 11 stones in total, as our daughter arrived in our 11th year of marriage. That ring is referred to as XX's ring.

I have another ring which would stack with this ring - it's ruby & diamond alternate's - 10 stones in total - for our our 10th wedding anniversary.

I never planned on 2 rings, and thought my 10th wedding anniversary ring would be the special one, but then we conceived and wanted to celebrate our little day's arrival original.gif

Both rings are channel set so could go on top of each other - though I never wear them that way.

I have another ring that I wear everyday - it's made of gold from my grandmothers wedding ring and stones my husband bought for me - so super special original.gif

Most of my jewellery has a story behind it and has been made for us - I would happily share a pic if I had any idea how..........

My stacker rings have been created by accident, more or less, only because I like quite simple jewellry ... which tends to stack.

I usually have my art deco engagement ring (cluster) on my right hand (it's a very old ring edged in filigree so I can't wear another ring with it [or shouldn't Tounge1.gif]). On my left ring finger I have my wedding ring (plain gold rounded band), wide gold tiffany ring (see link below) and my grandmothers wedding ring (flat rose gold band with engraving). I also used to wear another plain gold band which was quite wide until I lost it one NYE sad.gif. They're all different sizes and come to about 2cm all together (used to be about 3cm with the old gold band).

I now have tiffany and grandmothers wedding ring on right hand and engagement/wedding on left as the engagement won't go back to the right since my baby was born. I'm getting it resized this week so I can go back to stacking.

My husband has started making noises about buying me something to add to the stack. I would love something like this (not necessarily Tiff as I think they're overpriced). http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?...n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

Also currently hassling my mother to "hand down" this ring of hers to me so I can add it to the stack...and then i'll be done biggrin.gif http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?...n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

So, to answer your question. I would think the easiest way to start a collection is to decide on a colour (platinum/gold/rose) and buy rings with flat edges so it is then easy to mix and match, as well as rearrange them as your mood suits.

Yes - I have been having a play. I always find that jewellery looks different on me than when I look at pictures. As weird as that sounds. And I think the size of the stones need to 'match' my hand/build.

I will check out the Georg Jensen now original.gif

Fooismum and Mumabug - I love the sentiment behind your pieces. That's something I would like to create. I love things with meaning.
