From each according to his ability, to each according to his nee
DS is 7, 123cm and apart from his school trousers which have a drawstring waist I cannot find jeans or other trousers that will fit. He is a normal weight, but it seems clothes these days are made for overweight kids. Anything that fits for length is way too baggy everywhere else!
His waist is 56 and his inside leg is about 50ish.
Does anyone else have this problem? How do you get round it? I know I could just buy drawstring waists, but he would love a nice pair of jeans!

I have the same issues with smaller clothes only have a 2 and 3 year old), I actually resorted to holding my younger ds's pants up with a peg yesterday and am contemplating safety pins. I have also resorted to making a lot of my kids clothes as I just can't get things that fit right that are not out of our budget. In saying that though I got my elder boy a lovely pair of jeans that fit well, they just happened to be in the girls clothes area (skinny leg jeans but look awesome on him). They have an adjustable waist too

I have a 11yr old who is tiny , about 20kg and about 115cm tall .For her to look good and feel good in her clothes (particually jeans) I find I need to buy the ''top'' brand clothing like Country Rd , Seed , FB ect ect , they seem to be cut smaller . I have never bought new , always 2nd hand but they just look amazing on her .

Do you know anyone going to Bali or similar? Their clothes would no doubt fit a slim boy like yours original.gif you could just give a friend a measuring tape and your sons numbers and they could buy up a heap of pants for $20?

I barely survived yesterday & its already today!
Gymboree! DS1 has short legs, but still chunky & wears 8HUSKY (he's 131cms, 32kg, 7.5yrs if that helps) whereas DS2 is scrawny and wears a 5-6SLIM (he's 115cms, 22kg & almost 6).

I usually buy 1-1.5 sizes bigger and pull the drawstring/adjustable waist in. I'm pretty happy with how the Gymboree jeans fit, even drawn in.

I have the 4 year old version, so not sure if I'l be helpful but Gumboots usually have an adjustable waist inside - you move buttons along inside on an elastic if that makes sense? They are expensive but do good sales every now and again.

I've also seen the same thing in Target Piping hot too.

DS wears a size 5 for length so I would assume the same styles go up to 7/8?

Sorry, I can't even get leggings for my 4yo, she has to wear boots so she can wear a 3-4 and no one can see they are 4 inches too short.

I have 2 girls and my whingeing is about finding jeans that are big enough around the bum and hips as DD1 is quite athletic and most styles are for skinny underweight body types.

Check out Mini Boden in the UK as they have great clothes and have all the measurements and reviews (very important to read these) and I swear by their jeans.

Give me my coffee and no one gets hurt!!!
DS8 is really skinny. Best jeans I've found to fit him are the skinny leg jeans from Kmart. $8! And an adjustable waist! But don't tell him that one of the pairs was from the girls section wink.gif

GAP and Old Navy jeans are good too.
