OMG....GOLD!
(I've never, ever been able to say that)! Thanks Hunter4 and Mrs_Collins, I'm leaving it up to DH to decide if he wants to get an International Licences, but I've passed on the comments from the last thread. This post has been edited by Peanut: 25/07/2012, 11:45 AM |

Lena, we've been tossing up whether or not to visit Washingon DC. The things I found that we would probably see were the National Air & Space Museum, the Mall including the Lincoln Memorial, the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument, and the White House.
I'm not sure if we'll do it this time around, it seems awfully expensive to stay there and getting around with two young kids might be tricky. We might leave it until they are older. |

*Lena* - We will be travelling to Washington for 3 days. The main items on my "to-do" list so far are the Air and Space Museum, White House and monuments, Georgetown Ghost Tour (for DH) and Washington Photo Safari (for me).
Has anyone had experience with Southwest Airlines? I was looking at booking our internal flights with them as we will earn enough points to get one leg for free. |

Unfortunately I can't help with the Washington DC recommendations
I decided to do the Grand Canyon - fly and bus. I am happy with that as it ends up being 5 hours all up. I would have loved to do the helicopter but it was way too expensive. All that I have now is my transfer from LA to West Hollywood. I have booked so many things that I am seriously starting to lose track. Less than 2 weeks left for me |

wow we are a chatty bunch, i havent been in for the last few days and we have moved along quickly.
anyway i got some money on friday and was tossing up whether to get $1k or $2 but thankfully decided on $2k as i think i got it just over US$1. i normally leave getting the money till the last minute and then kick myself when it gets in the low .90. still havent done anything about maui, but DH thinks maybe we should splurge and stay at the westin or sheraton. so off to price them now. |

I googled the Area 51 tour, looks great! I think DH would love to do that. I also never knew it existed but now I'd love to go out there and take a look around.
I also can't help with DC info as that's the place I got stumped on that resulted in wiping the East Coast completely off this next trip. It certainly isn't a budget-friendly place to stay. There are heaps of free activities but the accommodation was very expensive and DH turned his nose up at how many museums I had on the list of what to see. 8 months today for me. I remember when it was 8 months until the last trip, that was about when I decided to make a ticker. Next thing I knew, it was the day before! I'm sure time will fly by just as much as last time. Plans for Alaska are coming together nicely |
