World famous in New Zealand
Banana republic, Loft, Gap - I like the clothes.
Forever 21 - cheap clothes, great basics or trendy stuff you want for a season.
Victorias Secret - Great Bras
American Girl - dd has 2 dolls and want outfits or accessories for her dolls.
Sports authority - sports gear
The departments stores like Macy's, Neiman Marcus and Nordstroms - clothes etc
Serphora - makeup, cosmetics and perfume.
Pottery barn, West Elm - homewares

I highly recommend going to the Outlet Malls as the discount are great. If you want a pair of designer jeans they are way cheaper in the US.

On our last trip we mostly went to outlets, I think we went to 4 different outlets in our 2 week trip. Must visits there were:
Gap
Gymboree
Banana Republic
Old Navy
Ann Taylor/Loft
Levi's
Rockport/Reebok (they're usually together)
Skechers
Ralph Lauren

I also like Express (for clothes), Harry & David (chocolate), Sports Authority, Victoria's Secret, Macy's, Nordstrom, Target (better than our Target!).

If you happen to like Clinique make up definitely get it in the US, I got a foundation from Macy's at about 1/3 the price it is in Aus.

F it!

Retail outlets are good, they are all over the place.

In LA, I found the Hollywood and Highland Centre amazing! And The Grove is good too......
(I was at the Centre last month and the sales were amazing, I found Via Spiga Italian shoes to be half the price we pay here in Sydney and then another 40% off.... it hurts just thinking about it...!)

Definitely Victorias secret, it's cheap and the stuff is really gorgeous too. Bather tops for $17 and bottoms are the same. Undies usually could get 5 for $25 which I thought was good for the quality of them.
I also loved forever 21 and sephora. Also fresh which is a skin care shop, it's what is used on the set of sex and the city but I found the products nice. A little expensive though.

Shoes like vans I got for $30 as opposed to $100 in Oz. I got a new pair if Asics for $60 which here were about $150.

If you like brand name stuff a really awesome one is Betsy Johnson. They have beautiful dresses and bags but is quite pricey.
