Hi there
I know this would have been posted before but I can't find it in
doing a search...just a quickie.
I need to know how long should I heat the boiled water in my
AVENT bottles in the microwave prior to adding formula.
There will be 180mls.
Thanks, I will be using a range of microwaves not just mine at
home so not sure of the wattage.

I give mine about 25secs - the water in them is generally straight out of the fridge so all I'm doing is taking the chill off it not really warming it so to speak

.

Hi,
If you're using a range of microwaves you'll probably find it'll be different with each. Also, it will depend if and for how long the water was chilled before you start.
I put a really cold bottle in mine for 45 seconds, maybe start on 20 if it was room temperature. This is with the formula already in it and 200ml.
Start with 20 second increments and see how you go. Give the bottle a good swish around between zaps and leave it to stand for awhile at the end, as it will keep getting warmer even after you've taken it out.

It will be different with each microwave.
I just wanted to let you know to be careful at cafes/restaurants as they usually have very powerful (high wattage) microwaves and bottle do not take very long at all. If you are out ask if you can go into the kitchen and do it yourself. Most places agree because they don't have the time to be fussing.

Thanks guys, realise what you mean re cafe/rest.

water.

I heat mine in boiling water but it takes too long and I'm sick of it.
Do you leave the teat/caps on when heating in microwave???

Kath

Don't know about anyone else Kath, but I take my
accessories off and just have the open neck bottle. I don't
want the others to deteriorate in the microwave.
I've found 30-40secs in my 900W is a good temp to give
straight away....I got sick of the boiling water/jug thing too.
