Hi,
I am currently breastfeeding my DS who is about to turn one at the end of the month. I wanted to gradually wean him onto cows milk (when one) but wanted to set more of a routine with regards milk feeds so the change isn't so big for him.
How many milk feeds are other people giving their bubs at this age?
Thanks.

Hi there,
Hate to see someone without a reply!! My DS almost 11 months has one breastfeed in the morning and one in the evening. He drinks no other milk but has plenty of water throughout the day. Also eats lots of yoghurt and has cows milk on his cereal (won't drink it though!)
Hope this helps

Hi Anna,
Thanks for the reply (I hate to see questions unanswered too)! It does help - I am still giving my DS about 4 breastfeeds but more out of habit than necessity I think! He loves water, too, so should probably give him more!
Cheers!

Hi Andrea
DD will be 12 months in 3 weeks. I too wanted to wean at 12 months & have only just got her down to 4 feeds. Three during the day & one very early morning.
I've already tried her on cows milk. Once from a bottle which she drank 100 mls, & once in a sippy cup, which she had a sip.
I have a feeling it won't be easy.
Good luck to you.

At that age my DS was having 3 milk feeds in a straw cup. Waking/lunch and just before bed.
At around 13 months I cut the lunch time milk. He has plenty of dairy.
Maybe start with a lunch time cow's milk and go from there..

My DD is 12 1/2 months and still having 4-6 breastfeeds per day. I still haven't tried giving her cow's milk to drink yet. I tried it on her cereal and she hated it. Plus we're both still really enjoying the daytime breastfeeds (she has one before both her naps and it really helps settle her), I don't want to mess with it! I'll probably try giving her some watered down milk at lunch one day and see how she goes.
