Hi girls,

I'm not really sure where to ask this but I am having to express some milk to try to get my supply up because my little princess isn't putting enough weight on and I have a Bambino (I think that is what it is called!!) sterilizer that I had from when my son was born, now I have no idea how long I am supposed to put it in the microwave for or how much water to use, I was wondering if anyone has one of these and would be able to help me with some instructions??

TIA

Nat

Thank you so much for that, now I can try to work out how to use the breast pump LOL!

Thanks again.

Natasha, I don't think you even NEED to sterilise for breast milk - I'd double check with someone professional, but I was expressing in the special care nursery and they only had me washing with hot water and detergent.

Will somebody please get Tom Cruise some vitamins?

Thanks for that expat, I will check it out, would make it all alot easier if I didn't have to!

Thanks

Hi,

Oh I remember doing this. Thank goodness we were told about the sterilising part before we started... it really cut half of the hard work out.

With breast milk, you only have to sterilise once every 24 hours. I was double expressing every 2-3 hours and after I had finished all we had to do was wash the implements out with warm soapy water. We didn't even have a sterilising unit, we would just boil the expressing kit and bottles for 5 or 10 minutes on the stove. It really made expressing SO much easier!!

For formula though, you have to sterilise after every bottle use etc.

Hope that helps!

Alexis xx
