Hi There,

My DD is 16 weeks, and I noticed this morning she has a ruptured blood vessel in her left eye. She doesn't seem bothered by it, and she is her normal self, but I am concerned what might have caused it.

I don't get them myself, so don't know if they are normal for her age group?

She hasn't had any unusual happenings, so would be interested if anyone has any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Christie

My DD had a ruptured blood vessel, which looked AWFUL, about 2 mths ago. I asked around and a friend of mines bub who is 8mths gets them sporadically due to crying. DD doesnt cry much so I put it down to her scratching her eye with her nail. She actually had a small scratch below her eyelid so I guess that was the cause. Maybe she has poked herself in the eye? Their coordination at that age can be quite hit and miss IYKWIM? FWIW I rang the CHN and they told me that it was extremely unusual and I should watch it, panicked me no end, but I found out by asking actual MOTHERS that its quite normal.

Thanks Kylie, that makes sense, she has been throwing her hands about when she has been excited.

She also had an unsettled day on Saturday so could have been the crying also.

I appreciate the reply!
