I am so happy with all who got through on the wildcard.. they were all my choices too!! I met Klancie and she is just gorgeous and a lovely person, we chatted about EB and how we had been chatting - it was a freak out... Anyway, can't wait till Sunday - Damien is going to rock it up a bit as he seems to be getting some flack about his falsetto so he is going to show the horrible people on the Idol forum that he isn;t just a ballad falsetto! ha GO DAMIEN!!!

Yay! I totally picked those 4! Maybe I'll try with the tipping competition on the Idol site this year. Last year my guesses totally sucked, but so far this year I've picked all of them! It seems as if viewers for the most part are starting to vote with their brains rather than any other part of their anatomy this year!

By the way, did anyone else pick up the first thing Andrew G said tonight??? It was "crikey, what a day".

I agree with the judges that the public did well in choosing.

Some of those guys were so flakey. One guy I don't think should be up there. He's one of the pretty boys.

To sum up what I think.
Anyways Chris Murphy did well and Lavina. she's got a strong voice. Mutto is a cool rock lad. I like Klancie too, she's got a wicked country voice and could be quite a performer.

That chick who sung 'diamonds on the inside' seems a little weak and would be more of a Missy Higgins style and I don't think she'll handle bigger songs. I could be wrong though

Well I am REALLY happy with the results! I spoke to Klancie yesterday before the show and she sounded happy but nervous, she said she wasn't getting her hopes up.

Laddidah, I told Klancie about this thread and that you were on here. I'm glad you got to speak to her and she IS a nice person hey! Aren't some people on that Idol website just awful!? I have been giving it so some of the people on there, I know everyone has their own opinion & is entitled to it, but some of the comments are just plain rude. I think a lot of them are immature teenagers (& adults!) but it still makes me cranky. I can't wait to see Damien perform again, I know he will do brilliantly!

Ok, that's my bit. Oh BTW I was disappointed that Brendan didn't get in, he has a lot of talent. Oh well....

Well I was happy with Klancie, Mutto and Chris M getting in but I CAN'T STAND Ricky so was disappointed with that. I know he has a good voice bla bla bla but he knows that he is good looking and that just wrecks it for me really.

Anyway, looking forward to Sunday night, wonder who the first one to go will be?? Hopefully Ricky.......(I know it won't be though )

First up, congratulations laddidah on Damien being in. He has a great voice and I really hope he will go far. I'll be cheering for him from my lounge room.

I don't mind Ricky that much. He seems to really want to be there and I think he has a good voice. Could be that I'm biased because he is Maltese though!

I didn't get how it worked. At the start of the show James and Andrew said there were three minutes left to vote but the judges had already made their decision. How could the judges make a decision if they didn't know how the public was going to vote? Anyone know?

I would say they just took the highest in votes excepting the 2 that judges went for. It's an SMS $$ grab, really.

I kind of liked the reference to Steve Irwin.. it was a nice way of acknowledging it without making a show of it. Not bad taste IMO.

I was disapointed with RIcky over Brendan but overall pretty happy with the 12. Looking forward to the weekend.

I have to agree with PP I think Andrew G was actully paying a small tribute to Steve Irwin, I really do not believe in was said it bad taste.

I also thought Andrew G's commment was a nice subtle tribute.
Agreed with 3 that got in but would have preferred Brendan over Ricky.

How exciting to have Damien's wife here - he's almost famous!! I hope he does well. My DH and I thought he was great, and were quite shocked that they said he was an ugly b*st*rd. I hope he took it on the chin and didn't give it too much thought. He's not at all ugly, and when you think of the guy who won the World Idol comp, "the hobbit", Damien is a God compared to him!! LOL!!

I am really pleased with the Top 12. I had picked 3 out of the 4, I wasnt sure about Klancie getting it, but I am pleased that she has, my picks were Ricky, Mutto, Chris & Nathaniel. I was worried that Chris was going to miss out going by the demographics of who watches Idol, I thought the young girls would all vote Nathaniel in.

We think this is the best Top 12 yet. Its going to be an interesting show!

I was happy with the 4 picked but would have ratherd nathaniel over ricky.

My DD voted for Nathaniel and was so smitten when she got of the phone (aged 5) and was heartbroken when he got booted out.

I was pretty annoyed that I wasted money voting when they did it the way they did - surely they should have waited until the votes were counted - and hey! what is with the public only getting to chose 1

To me it looked like a set up - the judges only gave 3 good reviews to 1 contestent - Chris M, the others ALL got mixed reviews yet he was NOT a judges choice.......

I too would have preferred Nathaniel over Ricky, his rendition of Vertigo was great and couldn't get his version out of my head. Ricky looks like a carbon copy of Anthony Callea...boring

Other than that I am happy with the top 12, bring on Sunday!!!

I can't work out the wildcard. How can they tell Nathaniel he's out before they've even closed the lines for the viewer's choice? It didn't make sense unless they (surprise surprise) already knew who the viewer's choice was.

How did it happen that the "viewer's choice" came from the people who weren't in the "comparison" contest.

It was all rigged and I'm glad I don't vote.

Having said that I'm glad Chris and Mutto got through. I didn't see Klansie or Ricky - got home too late. I loved Chris' version of Holy Grail - yet DH hated it.

Wow if Joseph has to pull out then how are they going get another contestant in it. How would they choose, I mean??

I never vote on these things, so I am not too sure how they go with all the voting.

It would probably be rigged anyway <_<

I just got email notification that I got tickets to the show on SUnday 17 Sept. I sure hope it isn't a hoax since it is from grundytv. SO happy its for the live show and not the eviction one!

OMG OMG OMG!!! I tried for so many years, and didn this one so half heartedly, now I'll just have to wait patiently for them to come via AUstpost.

The following sounds very dodgy to me.. "Greg" is the Executive Producer, and for Bobby to get a call from him, makes me think that perhaps Bobby didn't get through on his own merits???

Was so nice to see Jarvis & Eileen and say to DH "I know them!' in a weird and strange EB kind of way. Damien was excellent. I wish they would lay off on his looks comments though, I think he's cute!!!

Lisa didn't do it for me tonight.
If she get's through tonight and makes the next one, i hope her nerves calm down a great deal.
I can't imagine what it would be like up there, but she just looked so petrified to me.

Lisa is just wonderful but tonight she didn't sing that song well. I get a feeling, and I've said it before, she may find it hard to sing faster pace songs.

Off the idol stage she can sing what she wants and would become a star doing her own stuff but on idol she will be required to all types of genres.

I was pretty impressed with everybody tonight, was quite pleasantly surprised by Bobby as I haven't really heard him sing properly (I normally work everytime Idol is on) thought he did a great job.

Does anyone know the theme for next week?

I really believe that this year is such a talented group of singers that it will be very very hard to vote someone out. They were all brilliant, well done to them all

I thought Damian and Klancie were outstanding tonight and I really hope one of them wins, will definitely be voting for them.

Not impressed with Lisa's performance tonight and to be honest I think that her audition has been her best singing so far.

Didn't see Ricky's performance but that's because I don't like him so I watched the Steven Irwin story on 60 minutes instead.

I still can't see what all the fuss about Bobby is, am I stupid and just missing something that's plain obvious?? He seems like a really nice guy though and man can his GF draw or what!

Think that Joseph will be the one to go tomorrow night.

I was blown away by how great everyone was tonight, when compared with other years. I couldn't possibly pick who will be going. I think Joseph did the most poorly but I bet the young girls go for that look; as with Ricky. That whole image doesn't do it for me (but hey, why should it, I'm a daggy housewife! LOL!)

Ok wow Damien's wife is an EBer?! Woohoo! I think he's awesome. But I'm an absolute sucker for an Irish accent. It doesn't matter what a person looks like, if they have an Irish accent I'm won!

Bobby wow, so reeeeeal man. Just really raw and so clever.

And I agreed with almost everything Kyle said tonight ... except I like the writing on Mutto's hand

May as well put in my two cents worth on tonights show:

I really didn't like Bobby - can't be bothered with the whiny I'm so tortured thing he does.

Lisa looked completely lost. I think she will get a record deal and go really well but I can't see her fitting in with the show format.

Dean, Jessica, Reigan - OK but will need to show something more impressive to get me voting.

Joseph, Ricky, Chris and Lavina - boring, seen it all a million times before.

Damien - I like Damien but I don't think he did the song justice. For me that song should be gut-wrenching and I don't think Damien captured that at all.

Klancie - not a country fan but I love that song and I think she did it well.

Mutto - you rock buddy!

I think Joseph could be the first to go. He should go and join a boy band. I'm sure he'd slot right into one somewhere.

i dont get bobby, nor does DH, if hit a weird note on end of every sentence, then i give up

the rest are all equally vocally great, but a great voice doesnt mean a great singer, like jessica and lisa, i feel they dont understand what they were singing, communication lost somewhere in between

i still think dean and reigan are the type of person idol is looking for, mark's already seen the $$$$ coming in on dean, lol

I agree with one of the pp. This year is going to be tough to vote - there are quite a few goodies!!!

I must admit I have no idea who I want to win because I have several favorites.

Dean - Just ok tonight. I'm sure the 13 yr olds will love him. He's a bit too over the top for me.

Joseph - He seemed sooo nervous tonight. I didn't think he did his best tonight but after a few shows he'll get better I'm sure of it. I actually thought he was going to cry at the end when he was being questioned!!

Lisa - She's probably going to go. She is great singing her own stuff but not so great on idol. As a pp said, her audition was the best we've heard from her.

Lavina - Great performance, but hated the look. She needs to get rid of the 'emily' in her and become herself.

Damien - Great guy, cant believe the comments on his looks. I thought he looked great. I think he did a good job but not fantastic. Still want to see more of him.

Klancie - She's on of my favs. I dont mind a bit of country and I think she is picking great songs for herself. She also looked fabo tonight!!

Chris - Ummm hated that shirt!!! Ok performance. Think he will do better. Hope he takes up Mark's challenge.

Ricky - I think he does a great job. He def has his own style and if he wanted to stick to r & b I'd be fine with that.

Jessica- Did a great job, think she picked her song well and was fairly confident too.

Reigan - Loved her performance tonight. Was really surprised with the judges comments. Thought she did really well.

Mutto - He's ok but starting to bore me.

and finally....

BOBBY - I thought he did a fantastic job. I rewound the tape and watched it again. I would have loved to hear him sing the whole song but what he did sing, he did a GREAT job of it. So if anyone was to get my vote tonight it would be him.

I think this is the best year of IDOL so far. Can't wait for next week.

Must admit I wasn't a huge fan of his at first but loving his stuff more and more each week.

My pick is for Ricky to go this week I hope Lisa didn't stuff up to much.

I would just like to start by letting you all know that I do not vote for or against any contestants in Idol, and only watch to the start of the "real competition". My DW likes Idol and I'll listen to it (while she watches it) whilst i'm washing up - thankfully she she's always muted it for the Willams sisters.

My odds on the top two for Idol this year would be Klancie and Chris. Best of luck to everyone else in the competition, you'll need it!

I was totally turned around with a few of them tonight.

Klancie - I didn't think too much of her voice until tonight. Wow, I thought she was amazing!

Bobby - I have missed most of his lead up into the final 12. I saw his semi-final performance and hated it, but even then I knew that it was mainly because I only heard snippets, and I thought they had the balance all wrong that night. Tonight's performance was brilliant

Reigan - wasn't impressed with her semi-final performance, but tonight I thought she was magical

Those I love:
Damien - What a voice, what a personality And I thought all of this BEFORE I knew that his wife was a fellow EB'er

Dean - (mainly because I didn't hear most of it. Trust DS to have a screaming fit at the start of the show!)

Those that dissapointed:
Lisa - If she doesn't go, I really hope she gets over her nerves and sings a lot better next time.

Chris M - I love his voice, and his personality. I find him singing a little bit too metered though, always dead on the beat. Kind of loses the soul,feeling to me.

Jessica - such an amazing voice at her audition, but I thought she was far too nervous tonight and didn't shine as much as she has.

Those that didn't impress, surprise, or dissapoint:

I reckon this year has the most talented 12 ever!! I thought they were all pretty good tonight, but especially Bobby! He was awesome. So refreshing to hear someone who is completely an original artist. He has a totally unique voice, unlike anyone else's and I guess that's what I like about him. Lisa too, although I didn't think she did too great a job tonight, too nervous.

They were all really good though and I give them credit for being where they are, as I couldn't ever do it in my wildest dreams!!

Ahhh just home - was amazing to be in the audience.. Everyone was pretty amazing!! I was dying to watch it all again when we got home but we stuffed up the recording arrgghhh. Anyway, I thought standouts were Bobby, Lavina, Klancie and my DH of course (Damien)ha!! I thought Lisa struggled and it's a shame cause I love that song.. Next week is rock week so hope Damo gets thru, any suggestions if he does???

I personally find Klancie a bit too boring to become an idol, altough she does look like a lovely person, Lisa is too young and she needs to stick to her own songs, Jessica is too sweet, Teagan..hmm not too sure if I like her voice and Lavina...well her voice is amazing and I think it is an advantage for her now that Emily is her sister (sisters fans voting for her now), but a disadvantage later on in the show (we've seen it all before, just a prettier version now).

So IMO one of the guys is going to be the next idol, possibly Damien or Bobby...or maybe Chris... it is very hard indeed this year!!!
