Ok i hope this thread title is ok!!?? unsure.gif biggrin.gif

This thread is for any SAers to come and chat about their kids, whatever their ages are, from babies to school age ... come and say hi!!!

Ok i'll go 1st original.gif I have Riley who is nearly 17 months old, Brayden who is 5 and Taylah, she's 11 original.gif I'll post about all of them at some point ... depending on what they're up to at the time!! Lol!!

I hope you would like to chat here too about your kids (if not i'll have to bring my Baby Talk threads back!! Lol!!)

Look forward to hearing about your kiddies original.gif

Anyway will leave it there
mummatucks
I'll chat with you Tracey biggrin.gif . Well as you can see from my sig< I have Mikhaela 7, and Angus 17 months on Sunday ohmy.gif .

Today I took Angus for his first haircut. He looks like such a little boy now. I will take a pic and post it later. He was really good, although he kept trying to see the scissors while she was cutting it tongue.gif

I came back to add these pics of his haircut.(Don't mind his junky eyes blink.gif )

He is talking all the time now. Some things are:
Dukoo-thankyou
Pooboo- poohbear
Bobble or Bubble- bottle

and the list goes on!!!! wink.gif

Mikhaela is doing really well at school and she always has her nose in a book biggrin.gif

well i must go for now as Mikhaela has left the back door open and angus is making a run for it huh.gif

Hoping to get some advice here girls.

Keira weighs 8kg (can't sit up) and yesterday I turned the car seat around to forward face even though it says not to until she is over 9kgs.

She loves it and I love our new position, but am I putting her more at risk now of danger?

The reason that I changed the seat around was because she was always stretching her neck out to check out whats going on and I thought if we got a tap up the bum she would get whiplash.

Also, do you put the car seat in the middle or would behind the passenger seat safer?

Dena
livnik
dena - I thought it was 8kg, I asked someone not long ago and I swear thats what they said, I am waiting for dh to do Liams, he is 8.7kg
Tracy83
Hey Dena

People have said that you put the car seat in the middle and cars come with the anchor clip standard in the middle but ive got Alyssa and Kara on either side of the car cos Kara likes to pull hair and what ever else she gets her hands on.. It works well for me but i think the issue with that was something like airbags. I dont have airbags in my car so it probably doesn't apply..

As for turning the car seat around, I turned Kara's around when she was 6 months old when she weighed 8and a half kgs and she is so much happier now she can see things..

With Alyssa i didn't turn hers around until she was 11 months and she was 7 kgs... All kids are different but i suppose you do what you feel is safest at the time.

Hi there,

I wish Riley would sleeeeeeeeep!!!!!!!! I know he's not as bad as some, but he's waking so much during the night!!!! I'm tired of getting up numerous times to go and tuck him in, only to get up 5 more times over the course of the night unsure.gif The last couple of mornings, i've brought him into bed with Dh and myself, and he's gone back to sleep!
I'm thinking he might be cold??? I have no idea!!?? rolleyes.gif I might throw in a heat pack tonight if he wakes ... see if that helps original.gif

I'm loving not taking the stroller into Brayden's class every morning, now that he's walking so well!! smile1.gif Makes life that little bit easier! biggrin.gif

Oh and just thought i'd mention he loves Ducks!!!!!!!! If he sees one his eyes will light up and he'll say 'DUCK!!' It's really cute!

Dena i too thought the limit was 9kgs before turning the seat around?? The seats are pretty well set up to minimise any damage to bubs if involved in an accident (if it's fittted correctly!) I have Riley's seat on the passenger side as i have a 4wd ... it's easier for me to stand next to the car and pop him in, rather than try to hop up into the car to sit him in the middle original.gif

Kylie seems like ages since i've chatted to you in a thread! Lol!! Love the pic of Angus!! I gave Riley a haircut a week and a half ago! Although judging by the pic of Angus, his hair is way more thicker than Riley's!! Cute words he says too! If i try to teach Riley 'Ta' he thinks i'm trying to take something from him! unsure.gif huh.gif

Anyway better be off, take care original.gif

Hi there

Dena: I am not sure of the exact rationale, but I always heard that it should strictly go on the babies weight, rather than age or height(until they are much older). Saying that I have known many people who have turned around earlier without any probs. Do what you feel comfortable with! You could always put in a call to KidSafe or the RAA if you wish to clarify. Here is
a link for you

My girls are Aliyah (2.5) and Hannah (3.75). Having major issues with Aliyah toddler taming atm!! Granted she is sick but there are some things that I really need to get a grip on. She is a very bossy domineering little thing! Very organised and knows what she wants. Having some major stubborn moments lately and just feel that I am not consistent enough!! Doesn't help that I am managing her on my own for 95% of the time.

Hannah is basically good. She has changed so much in the last couple of months from being a timid cautious shy thing to being a little social butterfly and making friends wherever she goes. She is reaching the stage of kindy - starts pre entry next term, and I am sure she will continue to flourish.

Great idea Tracey, look forward to participating in this thread biggrin.gif
~~Kys~~
Im Kys i have a DD bailey who is two and almost five months and a little boy on the way, atm we are having great fum with Miss B trying to push the boundaries to see what she can and cant get away with, lol gotta loves the twos! We are also having alot of success with TT she hasnt had an accidents for ages and only has a nappy on if we go out and at night and this week we have started to work on dry nighttimes. My DD loves dolls well her bubbas but then is also a tomboy at heart and loves cards and playing with her thomas trains and her wooden train tracks, ok enough about us look forward to getting to know some more sa mums

Dena i turned DDs around at about 4months as she was a long baby, i prefer for her seat to be in the middle for her sake in an accident but for easy to get her in and out (i have a small car) when she was younger she was behind the passenger seat. I say for her sake in an accident as chances are if you are involved in an accident around town it is more likely the car will be hit on the side, if the car is hit from behind the baby seat holds baby in place if hit front on again the baby seat hold and protects baby and windscreens wont shatter so there is no problem with that. I do know alot of car seat are better now then they used to be for side impact but they still arent perfect so ideally the middle seat is the way to go.

I think i know why Riley is not sleeping too well ....... he has sensitive skin!!!!!!!!!! huh.gif ohmy.gif

He usually scratches around his neck (front and back) and it's never too bad, and he's always suffered with dry skin.

Anyway this morning sometime (have no idea what time it was) i went to check on him as he wasn't happy ... i walk into his room and he's just scratching his belly (has a body suit on under his PJ's) So that's it i think!!!?? His skin must be really itchy, poor thing sad.gif

I've stripped his bed, and washed his clothes separately to ours this morning, with the tiniest bit of detergent. I usually use heaps and put in fabric softener to make them smell nice original.gif

Also because Brayden doesn't have sensitive skin i just buy the cheapie bubble bath because i bath them together.

Am going shopping with Mum soon (when she's finished mowing her lawns!) so i'm going to have a look at the shops for some moisturising stuff ......... that's going to be the hardest job now, finding something that doesn't irritate him more sad.gif

Julie and Kys will be back later to reply to your posts!! original.gif I have read them though! original.gif

Take care,
ella*n*joshs*mum
Hi girls!!!

Sounds like our kidlets are all growing up wayyyyyyyyyy too quickly!!!!

My kidlets are at daycare today as i have to work this afternoon, well and this morning too but mine is only housework!

Ševil's Šiva
try going to the chemist and try the QV range of stuff. if u ask someone they will be able to help u as they have a lotion/ moisturiser, soap free bath wash/ and a whole heap of other stuff for sensitive skin as i used them with my daughter.

Good luck with it as it is all trial and error to u find what doesn't irrates his skin. Maybe even go to the docs as seen if he can be tested or seomthing as he may be allergic to something.

Cheers Bec biggrin.gif
ddasil
Tracey, try plain old sorbeline. Georgia skin is really dry and lately she has been scratching til it bleeds. We just use sorbeline morning and night and it is heaps better. I think it is our water that affects her skin as if she misses her bath for a few days it clears up heaps. OUr water seems to have a real stong chlorine smell to it and she gets the same sort of dry skin luke used to get after swimming lessons.

Lisa
~i am Mel©~
Just barging in to say.......I second what Lisa said Tracey. Liam has always had really dry skin on his legs and I use soberline. Especialy after a bath as the warm water dry's the skin out. For us, bubble bath is a big no no as it flars up excema for him. I also use the QV all natural bath wash from the chemist. His clothes I just wash as normal, but I dont use fabric softener. I hope his skin clears up in no time poor little sausage.

Hi Everyone!

I just want to 'out' myself as a newbie to the SA threads! I have two kids, DS Jack will be 3 in Nov and DD Meg will be 1 in October! Both are just gorgeous, but DS is really testing his boundaries with us ATM.

I had to return to the work force full-time earlier this year and both kids went into full-time child-care. It was great for them, Jack just came along in leaps and bounds, he is such an independant and chatty little boy now. Now I'm a SAHM again and only have Jack in child-care 2 mornings a week. I just didn't have the heart to take him away from his new friends and carers, such a softie. The time I have one-on-one with Meg though is just lovely. I'm starting to get to know my daughter again! She waited until I was home full-time before she started crawling!

Devils Diva, I hear you with the Ducks!! Jack used to be obessed with them. He could spot a duck a mile off, in a book, on TV and on EB!

Ah, haircuts! Jack runs a mile when we mention the word! I'm terrible when it comes to hair, wouldn't be able to cut straight if my life depended on it. Mum cuts Jacks hair when she comes over from Vic, so sometimes it gets quite long in between visits! Meg's hair is lovely, but is growing quicker at the back than at the front. She hasn't required a haircut yet, but if it keeps growing like it is then she will be sporting a she-mullet!

This is a great idea for a thread! I've been feeling a bit lost the last week. It was such a huge adjustment going back to full-time work after 2.5 years, then another huge adjustment coming back home again full-time. I haven't been able to meet up with many mums since moving to SA, so I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. I do go to a great local playgroup, but am still getting to know people there. I can get quite shy at times blush.gif

I won't post my sig as it is soooo old.. I'd better take a new piccie of the kids and post it. How fancy have the sigs got though since the last time I posted on EB! They are all just fantastic!

Looking forward to more chats with you all,

Mel

Hello ladies

Well for those that don't know, my name is Saira and I have 3 children.
Olivia 5, Nicola 3 and Liam 7 months

Olivia is in reception and is doing fantastically well, her fave thing to do at school is playing on the monkey bars, if you could see the blisters... She is going great with her reading and has me reading up to 3 books a night with her!!!!
Now thats getting harder and harder as one of the books she brought home yesterday had 43 pages in it ohmy.gif

Nikki has just started Kindy one day a week, which she really loves and asks me everyday if she can go, not long now til she is there 3 days a week. She also goes dancing to, and looks adorable in her dresses.
Nikki is defenetly my most challenging child. She gets bored easily likes to push my limits pushes her sisters limits too, at the moment there are more bad days than good, right now I think its down to her ears, she is so deaf right now its not funny.

Liam is 7 months old. Not doing alot, still not rolling yet, but goes great in his walker and likes to stand a bit now and his sitting is getting better, he is a very happy baby and loves his family heaps, you can just tell, he thinks his big sisters are great.

Phew well I think I've gone on enough.

Take care

saira

Ok I think I might add my 2 cents worth...

My Name is Danielle (Dani) I have 2 kiddies Jade is 5 and Madison is nearly 3 (Nov).

Jade is in reception and is going really well, she loves her reading and spelling and is such a little princess.

Madison is going great too... Everything is "Gitty" (pretty), and apart from calling me "Dani" instead of mum all is well.

Look forward to chatting more.

Hi - just a quick intro for now original.gif.

My name is Jaimie, I'm a SAHM to 2 kids - Ethan just turned 3 and Kaitlyn, who is nearly 5 months.

Ethan is my gorgeous boy. He's just starting to test my boundaries recently. Am trying not to give an inch, but is hard sometimes. He used to be a Wiggles fanatic but is recently jsut getting into Thomas and trains - makes a nice break from all those bloody DVD's I have to endure!! LOL Having a few problems with TTing, but hoping to get it sorted in the next few months.

Kaitlyn is my little princess. She's teething ATM so is a bit grizzly most days poor little mite (although those that have met her prolly wont believe me wink.gif). She was sleeping through, but the last couple of nights she's been waking up early hours for a feed. I think it's because during the day she's only having half bottles - due to her teething i suspect. Have tried her on solids - she wolfed down rice cereal the first week, and i tried her on some other stuff but she's not interested. Again, I think it's teething related. Will keep offering it to her though original.gif.

Anyway - that's my spiel on my little cherubs. Will chat soon original.gif.

Hi Girls!! Do you mind if I join your thread??

My name is Rebecca, I'm 22 and my son Kai is 15 months old. I'm getting married in 8 weeks which I'm stating to get very nrevous about LOL!

Kai has his fourth molar coming through atm and woke up 5 times the other night... I was a walking zombie on wednesday!!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with a chereb who's testing the bounderies!! Tantrums are rife around here atm!! We had a corker at Kindergym the other day... If I was the sort that was worried about what others thought I would have been so embarrassed!!

Well sorry to cut this short and for the lack of personals but I currently have a toddler wrestling me for the mouse!! Have a great day girls!
Caelia Angel
Lol!! Lisa and Mel i did end up buying Sorbolene cream yesterday! I gave him a quick bath last night, then lathered on the cream and rubbed it in really well original.gif original.gif He still woke a few times during the night, so will see how he goes over the next week or so!! smile1.gif

Bec i thought about the QV range, but i decided i'd go with the cheaper option 1st and see how he went original.gif

I promise i'll be back for a proper post soon .... i was hoping to get on today and do all my posts but i've had people on the phone, coming to the door, chatting on MSN!! It's been never ending! unsure.gif

Chat soon!

Hi Everyone.. Thought i might interrupt this thread with the need for some advice..

Alyssa is toilet trained but i have issues with her in the night.

When i put nappies on her in the night, she is dry as anything in the morning. When she goes free, she saturates her bed. Its like she senses having it on her bum or not....

Ive tried dry nites and she takes them off in the middle of the night !!! grrr... Im baffled..

I have no issues with my dear little Kara as of yet...
Still waiting for teeth but the process isn't bothering her.. And still waiting for her to crawl but she's happy either way..

Thanks for listen to my dribble Tounge1.gif
~i am Mel©~
Hey Tracy. no advise as i'm having the same problem with Blake. He went three nights with no pullups on and last night wet the bed. wink.gif Everytime I think i'll stop putting pullups on him cause they are dry in the morning, he'll wet the bed.

He'll get the hang of it when he's ready I guess.

Mmmm, have just finished sharing a 'sprinkle' donut with Jack. I was a bit annoyed that he licked off the sprinkles and icing, THEN gave me the donut! I love the icing too! Ah well, the sacrifices we mums have to make! tongue.gif

Can't give any advice with regards to TT I'm afraid. My 2 are both in nappies and Jack shows no interest in being TT. In fact, he insists he wants to stay in nappies. I've bought some jocks for him so this summer we will try with a vengance!

Best be off to give my crawling 'cyclone' Meg a bottle!

Take care,

Mel

Hiya

Thought I may do my post in here finally
Good title Tracey

Most of you know me but for those that don't. I am Kristy, mum to Brett almost 13, Jayden almost 10, Thomas almost 4 and Alyssa almost 1. And me I am almost 30!!!!!! biggrin.gif
I work part time. Im married. Kids are very sporty so busy a lot! Thats me in a shell!

Boys are all good. Brett is at SAPSASA cricket trials now. Jayden had Lacrosse lat night. Footy season is over, cricket season about to start.

Thomas is good. Nearly 4. I got phone call today that he has got a place at Andrews Farm Kindy. Starts pre-entry next term on fridays.
Alyssa was good. She is sick again and I am p*ssed off. I not long ago sent an email to the director of their kindy. Not going there but not happy at all.
She is 1 in a few weeks. Take steps here and there. She can stand unaided and as of yesterday can stand from the ground by herself unaided with nothing to pull herself up. She just has to learn when she takes steps not to lean forward and walk so fast. More to balance whilst taking steps. She is too eager, lol.

Tracy Does she wake when she wets or continue to sleep? If she stays asleep then maybe you need trainers for a bit longer, if she wakes up then you may need to get rid of the trainers. She will wet to make sure you put them on. I had same with some of mine, they wanted the convenience of them. Got rid of them, had a week of sheets to change and they stopped. Even had a sticker chart for one of them as soon as he had 7 stickers in a row he got a toy at shops. Did it twice, never had a problem after that. Worth a go maybe.

Kai's mummy All the best with the wedding. How exciting

Jaimie It can be a trying age, three. They just have so much energy to burn and want to be preoccupied so much! Hope Kaitlins teeth come through quick so she is back to eating, etc quicker. Hate teething!

Dani Omg does she. Lol.

Saira How long until her app? Hope its gets fixed soon so she can hear again. Liam is just too adorable. Not much more I can say about him, lol.

Mellae Hello! Join us in Lets chat too to chat. We have regular meets if you want to get together, the kids have a ball. What direction do you live in? What type of work did you do? Nosy me sorry

TraceyBugger to hear about Rileys skin. Brett was also a sufferer of ezcema (still has it sometimes). He was bad as a toddler. Firstly DO NOT use the bubble bath. Stick to baby baths or nothing at all. Even baby shampoo makes bubbles under running water. Keep soaps simple. Not all the nice smelly ones and also your detergent (that was Bretts biggest one) I had to use liquid detergent not powder, no matter how small the powder set him off and as it was in clothes, sheets, etc was always against his skin.
Hope it eases soon.

Dena I turned ALyssa's seat around a long time ago. I didnt go on weight (I know) but I felt I knew when it was time. I have Alyssa's seat in the middle,Thomas's seat behind me. Boys in other seats. Which is front and middle or middle and back (in 4wd)

Kylie How cute is Angus. Great to hear the conjunctiviits is cleared now. Cute talking too.

Ok this post has taken like 2 hrs, lol. Been doing all sorts of stuff. Dinner, cleaning, have to get ready now as I am going out for dinner in an hour and havent started and still have to drop Jayden at disco, lol. Typical of me hey!!! Dh is picking up brett now. Kinda glad tutoring was cancelled, lol. Not enough time tonight (friend ill). He is doing some in his books though so not wasted time.

Have a great weekend.
Kristy
~i am Mel©~
ok, a quick intro from me.
Mel 29, mum to Liam 5 and a half, Blake 4 and bubs #3 due March 07.

Liam just started Reception this term and is going fantastic. I can see the little changes in him already (growing up wise.) His favourite things to do are drawing (he is a budding artist!) and playing on the older kids playground at school. Most of the time he is very caring and loving, although since he started school he has come home rather bossy. (nothing time out in his room doesnt fix.)

Blake who turned 4 about a month ago has become my little angel since I finished full time work. He goes to kindy 4 mornings a week and it's really stimulating for him. In the afternoons we really get to spend quality time together before picking Liam up. We make lunch together, read books, play with his toys, and if i'm tired I lay on the lounge next to him and put a dvd on. About 10 times a day he comes and asks for a hug and tells me he loves me. (so sweet)

I really think he is lapping up my attention as I have worked full time since he was 18 months old, and he was at home with his dad or in childcare or with my MIL.

Things will be ok next year when bubs comes as he will be almost starting school. YEY! Then I will have lots of 1on1 time with the baby.

Will I go back to full time work everyone has been asking? Not sure.. I still work at home doing design/typesetting for the printing company I am at, only when they are busy and need me. Lately it has only been 6hrs a week. Not that we need 2 incomes right now, but I wanted to keep my foot in the door (so to speak.) We will just cut back on our holidaying and spending tongue.gif One day when I get motivated, I will start my own business from home.

ok, thats is really enough dribble from me! lol Cool thread by the way Tracey.
Sorry no personals tonight, am tired as usual.

beautifulgirls
Hi there

Thought I better come back! Have been at work last couple of days so not much EB for me!! Aliyah has been much better now she is over her cold but has her moments. Having issues with TT. Tried a couple of months ago had some success but gave up as she turned it into a whole attention seeking thing - wanting to go every two minutes even after a success. Now she is indicating wanting to try again - taking off her nappy all of the time etc, asking to go the toilet but once you get there to help her she has changed her mind or will only sit there for a few seconds. So again it all about the attention! Don't like to get too cross with her about it as don't want her to associate the toilet with negativity. Just don't know what to do.

Kristy: Sports must keep you very busy! My girls are starting dancing next year which I know they will love but I know it will be the beginning of the end of my Saturday mornings sad.gif . Hannah starts pre entry next term too.

Mellae: Welcome! LOL re the donut! Mummy just gets scraps mad.gif

Tracey83: I haven't even tried to night train Hannah - she is absolutely soaked in the mornings! I have decided I will try in the summer holidays and her sister at the same time - I am planning on buying a couple of those "kylies" waterproof lambswool sheets for their beds in preparation.

Tracy: Good luck with Rileys skin - I also have an excema child sad.gif

Kais mum: Welcome. Know about the toddler wrestling with the mouse, I can hardly get on at all during the day due to this! Those molars are so horrible!! Such a relief when they finally get them all through though. I had three and a half years straight of teething - so glad it is now over.

Jaimie: It is a pain when you just get used to sleeping again and they go get a tooth!! The joys of motherhood.

Saira: Hope Niks hearing improves soon - does she get lots of ear infections.

Thats all from me atm!
Tracy83
Kristy - Once she wets the bed, she wakes up, comes in my room to show me and puts her wet undies and pants in the washing machine and asks me for new undies. Then she sleeps in our bed cos her bed is wet blink.gif wacko.gif
~i am Mel©~
Tracy, Blake does the same. In the middle of the night when I'm cross with him for wetting the bed, he says "i'm sorry mummy" and I know he can't help it, he is half asleep himself. I can't be bothered stripping sheets in the middle of the night, so he comes in our bed. I just noticed Alyssa is a year younger than blake too so I think she is doing well. lol
Tracy83
Thanks guys... Im not too concerned cos i know Alyssa will do it in her own time. I just wish that things could be easier and i didn't have to constantly wash sheets but i suppose thats motherhood !! Tounge1.gif
Caelia Angel
Hi everyone original.gif

Well i've been applying the Sorbolene cream to Riley, but he's still unsettled at night .... i know it's only been 2 days so i'm not too worried. Just would like a miracle cure in return for a full nights sleep iykwim!!?? Lol!!! I'm hoping it works!!

Ok will do a small post about my other two children seeing as i left them out at the beginning!

Taylah is 11 and is a great kid!! Everyone always tells me how polite and nice she is! original.gif She loves to be organised!!! If she's having a sleepover she'll print out invites and make an itinerary for the night original.gif Or when Big Brother was on she'd write down who nominated who etc! She's so much like me when i was her age!
She does Gymnastics (has been since she was 5) She enjoys going and always gives it her best.
She loves the Veronicas and chatting to her friends on MSN original.gif
She's extremely close to her Grandma (my Mum) I think with me having her at 19 and not coping too well, Mum used to have her just about every weekend and from that they've bonded really closely. Plus being the 1st grandchild for Mum probably helped too. Taylah used to tell Mum everything, but in the last couple of years we've become closer and she'll confide in me more original.gif

Brayden is 5 and is just a nut! Lol!! He's so full on sometimes! When he was 2 - 3 years old food shopping would take me ages!!!!!! He'd stop and chat to any old man, old lady, checkout person, shelf filler etc!!
Since being at School he's learnt how to read so quickly! Also he was never a kid to colour in books, but every spare chance he has now he'll grab a pen and paper and ask me how to write words like Superman, Batman etc. I'll tell him letter by letter. He'll also copy words in books, or DVD titles!
I have him on the waiting list for Gymnastc as i think he'd love it ... he's always bouncing around and jumping off the furniture! He has so much energy!

Julie hope you can get some control over Aliyah!! I've never had a kid that's been too bad in the toddler stage .... they all had their little tantrums, but we got through it ..... just!!!! original.gif
Hmmm not sure on what to say about Aliyah's TT'ing ... just persevere!! Lol not much help, hey!!??

Kys great to hear Bailey is going so well with her TT'ing! Lol i'm sure Riley would get along with her if she has Thomas trains! He loves Thomas!!! smile1.gif

Bec if Riley's rash got worse i'd definitely go to the doctor .... but atm it's not scary looking! unsure.gif Just annoying for him i think sad.gif

Mel (mellae) welcome to the S.A threads! Lol! Wow sounds like you've all had lots of re adjusting to do!! Doesn't sound like it's affected the kids at all which is good! Bet they love having Mummy home more though! original.gif
Lol kids are supposed to eat the sprinkles off the donut and leave the rest! A friend of a friend used to keep the left over dough, spread jam on it and put it in the freezer for a snack another day! Lol! unsure.gif

Saira hope you got some reading done with Olivia tonight! Lol!! When's Nikki's next appt? Liam will roll when he's ready!

Dani lol at Madison calling you by your name!!! Brayden used to call DH by his name because Taylah not being DH's biological DD, Brayden would hear her calling him Darryl, so he'd do the same! Lol!!

Jaimie Brayden was never into the Wiggles!!!!! Although when they were on Ch 2 a couple of weeks back (in the morning) Riley was hooked! I think he'll get into them original.gif Hope Kaityln's teeth pop through soon, and she's back to her normal self again!

Bec of course you're welcome! Oooh not long until the big day!! I bet you're nervous! You'll be fine original.gif Wow Riley is a couple of months older than Kai, and if something doesn't go his way he'll either throw himself on the floor, or if i'm holding him, arch right back till i just about drop him! huh.gif Crazy kid!

Tracy TT'ing is hard!! You just have to keep persevering and eventually it'll just 'click' to them!

Kristy sport, sport and more sport hey!!?? What do you think Alyssa will do?? Or what do you want her to get into! Lol! Wow can't believe she's one in a few weeks!
Nope won't be using bubble bath anymore!

Mel Brayden was never a kid to draw or colour in, but since being at School he loves to write now! They tried for so long to get him to do it at Kindy too! Just see how you go with work ... they sound pretty flexible. Plus like you said, just cut down on the spending and holidaying! lol!

Well better get going .... time for a coffee now after that massive post! original.gif

Can I just say I think its great to hear about the older kids, we often talk about babies and pregnancies and more babies...but it's great to hear about the interests of the school kiddies.

Nikki goes to the ENT next week for those who asks, she doesn't get alot of infections really.

Hi!

Thought I might come and post in here although most of you know me.

I am 30. Have Madison (almost 5), Luke 3 and Georgia 19 months.

Madison will be 5 soon and starting school. Cant wait! tongue.gif She had her second transition visit today and was very peeved that she couldn't stay all day. She pretty much ignores me most of the time, but seems to know when I am right on the edge of cracking it.

Georgia is just adorable tongue.gif My baby!! She is going really well, but also has a foul temper. She has gone from breath holding attacks since she was 10 months to blood curdling screams that have me running. A sign of things to come I think blink.gif

Luke is......well Luke! He is a handful to say they least. 30% of the time he is the sweetest, most loving boy you have ever met, 70% of the time he is THE devil! He has real problems with anger and impulse control. We have a appointment to see a Phsycologist on Tuesday and I am really looking forward to that. It was supposed to be last week but was cancelled. I am really hoping they have some good strategies for dealing with him because I can't handle him much more. Have spent most of this week in tears and I am sure DH is getting sick of the phone calls at work. Though we have been watching his diet and we think maybe he has a bad reaction to cheese. So we are keeping him off that until he calms again and then will dose him up on it to test out our theory. He has been bouncing of the walls for the last 3 days,, he just can't stay still for more than 30 secs. I could write pages on him but will stop there.

Lisa

Sorry to slack to reply about to watch a DVD

Hello again original.gif

Just want to say this is a great thread - thanks Tracey!! Am loving hearing about everyone's kids, and it's great to be able to get advice from people who have BTDT.

will be back later for a proper post i promise original.gif
mellae
I guess I'd better let you all know right from the out-set that I'm hopeless with personals! I just had to go back and re-read what I last posted, I have no chance of remembering everyone else's posts, but I will try!!

Kristy, I've always worked in Banks. I worked for nearly 10 years for the NAB before I had Jack, and then when I returned to work this year I temped for the Adelaide Bank. I will join your Let's Chat thread, and hopefully be able to meet up with a lot of you in the future at some of your regular meets. We are renting at Rostrevor atm, but are building a house next year at Hope Valley. That's great that your kids love their sport, I can't wait for the time to come when I'm cheering the kids on in their chosen sports. Jack already loves kicking the footy with me!

Lisa, good luck with Luke's appointment next week. I'm sure that they be able to give you lots of great ideas.

Tracey & Julie, thanks for the welcome!!

We had family photos at the childcare centre today. Of course, when we got there Jack decided to throw a wobbly and didn't want his photo taken. DH is very impatient and almost blew his top which was just making Jack even worse. The photographer took some photos of Meg and I and then just some of Meg while I calmed Jack down. Thankfully once I produced his 'pooh bear' security blanket he was happy to have his photos taken, so now we'll have family shots with that damn 'pooh bear' in them!! lol! tongue.gif

Wasn't today just gorgeous? Given there were no new posts in the thread today I'm assuming you were all out enjoying the sunshine? Can't wait for another beautiful day tomorrow.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and take care,

Mel

Just had to share this piece of news. Some of you know I've been having a few problems TTing DS - anyway today he has done heaps of wees on the toilet - he's going by himself, and I *think* he may have done a poo on the toilet too. Don't ask me why i *think* this - it's too gross.

Big announcement here:

biggrin.gif Riley slept through the night on Saturday night .... didnt get up to him once!!!!!!!!!!! biggrin.gif
Was bliss!!!!!!!! Although last night it was just the usual! Lol!!!! Hoping we get back to sleeping through the night soon!! original.gif

I get so many comments on how quiet & placid Riley is! Lol!! Out and about he is like that anyway so they have a point, but at home he's talking your ear off, wanitng food, wanting drinks, wanting Thoams the Tank on!! Lol!!

I think he's going to definitely be in the 'terrible 2's' soon! ph34r.gif The other day after coming back from School, i let him walk to the front door. Well he didn't want to come inside, so i went and picked him up and he cracked a poo, grabbed my cheek and pinched it!!! mellow.gif He does have some little tanties (arching his back, or stiffening up in the carseat if he doesn't want to do something!
I just distract him (like say 'where's the bird, or 'can you see the truck?') and he's stops doing it original.gif

Mel wow i hope your photos turned out ok after that drama of the day! Lol!!! huh.gif Riley still has a 'security bib' Lol!! If he's tired he like to hold it and suck his thumb original.gif

Lisa wow bet you're counting down the days until Georgia is in School original.gif Does Georgia still have her breath holding atacks now?? I think you said Luke and Maddy did it too? When did they grow out of it??
Good luck at the appt for Luke (i think i read it's tomorrow) Look forward to hearing what they have to say original.gif

Lol i don't get what you posted Jaimie!!!??? You think that Ethan doing a poo in the toilet is gross, or you think he might've done one in there then it's gross!!!????? ph34r.gif tongue.gif Sorry am not giving you sh*t, i just don't understand!!?? Lol!

Well better get going ..... take care and chat soon!

Oh and i'm glad you like this thread! Thanks!!!!!!! smile1.gif
*JAC*
LOL - no, the way I found out he may have done a poo on the toilet was gross!! He came to me with poo stuck to his fingers and his bum. I've searched the house and couldn't find any 'surprises' so am crossing my fingers and toes that he did it on the toilet!!

Oh - Yippeeee about Riley sleeping through BTW. Lets hope he can turn it into a common thing from now on!
Caelia Angel
Lol!!! Ahhh now i get it Jaimie!!!! Yep that was pretty gross! Lol!! Great that he's doing lots of wees on the loo, and i'm sure he must've done a number 2 there as well .... i'm sure your house would be might smelly if it was elsewhere! tongue.gif

Yep it was great Riley slept through ... would love more of it though! biggrin.gif

Wow, it's just started bucketing down here, can barely hear myself think over the sound on the iron roof!

We are off tonight to a 'special viewing' of Monster House! My DH is a grocery buyer and 'Kinder Suprise' are having a new product launch at the Norwood Hoyts. Jack will freak at the movie, it will be way too scary for him so I don't expect to be there for long. However, DH still wants us to all go along anyway.

Jack tried wearing jocks for a short time yesterday just here at home. I kept asking him if he wanted to do wee, forgot to ask about the poo though and that's what ended up in the jocks! At least he is starting to get interested in the whole TTing, that's the main thing!

Meg has been crawling for about 2 weeks now and is into everything! Everything goes into her mouth as well, so I need to make sure the floors stay relatively clean (better vacuum tomorrow....).

Tracey, is Riley still sleeping through? How many times did you wake up on Saturday night wondering why he hadn't woken up???

Better go now and start getting the kids ready for the big night out!

Take care,

Mel

Hi again original.gif

Well things are going great here original.gif

As some of you know i posted a thread about Taylah's ribbons she won at Gymnastics original.gif I'm still so proud! Pity her Dad couldn't come and watch sad.gif He couldn't get a baby sitter for his DS. He did come by when we got home and she showed him her ribbons and the pics i took on the day original.gif

Brayden is going great at School. Getting into the routine a lot more now. It doesn't take long really before they know what to do! I got a note from the Library stating that Brayden had an overdue library book .... i had NO IDEA they were borrowing books as he's never brought one home before!!!?? Lol!
I explained it to his teacher and she had a word to the librarian, so fingers crossed i don't get a bill!

Riley is going well. Hasn't slept thorough the night since that other night, but he did only wake ONCE Monday night!! biggrin.gif smile1.gif

Lol, i did wake a few times too!!! huh.gif unsure.gif

Mel how did Monster House go!!?? Looks like a great movie! I hope Jack wasn't too scared! sad.gif
Eeew at the poo jocks, i used to throw them in the bin! pmsl! I didn't start training Brayden until he was 3 and a half and he picked it up really well, so i didn't lose too much money by throwing out his jocks! huh.gif
Lol well with Meg crawling at least you'll keep up with your vacuuming! biggrin.gif

Well better be off, take care and chat soon!

Just bumping us up.....

Jack was amazing during Monster House, in fact both the kids were great. We sat second row back and at the end so Meg had plenty of room to crawl around as there were no stairs down the front. Jack was so over-awed by it all he hardly made a peep. I felt him tense up a bit during the scary bits, but he wasn't too concerned and seemed to like it. It wasn't a bad movie, went for a bit over an hour, probably about 80 minutes.

Tracey, I did read your thread about Taylah's ribbons, that is so great. Fingers crossed Riley starts sleeping through again soon!

Take care all,

Mel

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

KIDS mad.gif
Sweet Chilli Philly
Thought it was about time I got of my lazy backside and posted in here ph34r.gif

As most of you know I'm Phillippa and have one ds, Tristan who will be three in January. We also have #2 currently on the way smile1.gif

Hmmmm where to start! Tristan is at that stage where he likes to push boundry's atm and it's driving me crazy!!!! Half the time I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall and yet sometimes he can be so sweet and do exactly as I say.

His new thing is he like's spitting out his food or just just throwing it whereever. I've taken to making sure he is sitting up at the table now so at least the mess is in one spot but it's still a mess I have to clean up afterwards. It's not just foods he doesn't like either as he usually loves his food and will ask for an apple or a sandwhich and two minutes later he decides he doesn't want it and spits it out blush.gif blush.gif It's really embarresing when we go out also.

Sorry my first post in here and all I'm doing is whinging, lol blush.gif

When I go on maternity leave in ten weeks I'm going to fully concentrate on TT Tristan. He does ask to go sometimes but then once he is on the toilet all he will do is play with his bit's and not do anything. Hopefully once I can fully concentrate on it we might get somewhere....Wish me luck!!!

Other then that he's a pretty good boy and can be so caring sometimes. I was sick with gastro yesterday and while I was being sick he kept patting me on the back. Not sure what exactly he was saying though rolleyes.gif He is quite helpful at times to (when he wants to be!) he will pick up his toys when asked and sometimes not when asked too!

Well I'll leave it there for now...sorry bore you all blush.gif blush.gif
mellae
Phillippa, when I read your post I could have been reading a description of my DS Jack, who is 3 in November. He used to be so easy to feed, but now he changes his mind about what he likes and doesn't like everyday! He harped on and on today about wanted a tomato sandwich and of course didn't want it once I had made it for him, grrrr! The only food he will eat without us having too much of a battle is pasta and risotto, and even though they are yummy, we can't have those all the time! When he doesn't 'like' his dinner I set a target for him of either 5 or 10 more bites before he leaves the table and he'll generally comply as he can then count along (he loves to count).

Maybe we should get them together so they can discuss their food habits! tongue.gif

Good luck with the TT, I'll be trying with Jack full-on at the end of the year, he is just starting to show some interest now...

Take care all,

Mel

No time to do personals but just thought I would pop in to say Hi!!

Feeling like a bit of a bad mummy because I realise that many of Aliyahs behaviour probs of late have been due to constipation sad.gif sad.gif . I clocked onto it about a week ago, but there was obviously a lot of stuff there (sorry if TMI) and it has been ongoing. She has been very uncomfortable etc. We are onto it full on now, she is eating heaps of dry fruit, diluted prune juice etc, and taking parachoc daily.

Must go!
*~*Adele*~*
Ok well thought its about time I post in here. As most of you already know, I'm Adele & have a 3 y/o charming daughter Ameliyah!!

Ameliyah's at the WONDERFUL age at the moment. Testing boundaries & being ever so bossy. She thinks that she can order me around to do everything for her. Doesn't like it when I tell her "NO", but then again what kid does. She's a very over powering girl, won't take any crap from anyone. Which in some ways I dont think is a bad trait at all, at least she sticks up for herself. But in other ways, she can be quite mean to other kids & I don't like that at all!!

Ameliyah's pretty smart though. She's been talking sentences since before she turned 2. We have just started teaching her to spell her name. So far she gets "A M E L Y H", so not bad, just misses the I & A. We've also been doing dot to dot with her to learn how to write her name & she's doing very well with that too. She's my little singer aswell, will make up her own songs & just walk around the house singing absolutely anything. Her fave "adult" song at the moment is "Shannon Nolls.. LIFT" & She absolutely loves the theme song to the OC "California". She practically knows all the words to both of those songs. It's very cute.

Ameliyah has been going swimming once a week since she was about 14mths old & is doing really. She will be moving up to the next level next term.. which means she will hopefully not be swimming with anymore floats on. I am very proud.

Well I could ramble on & on about my lovely daughter, but dont want to bore you too much. So I'll end it here for NOW!!

Hi everyone original.gif

Been out walking this morning original.gif I walk down near a creek and Riley is always on the lookout for Ducks original.gif There is a Duck family down there so we always see them original.gif I'll stop the pram and we'll watch them for a couple of minutes.

His new word now is 'nk' Which means drink! Usually if he wants his drink he'll whine and point to it, now he will want you to follow him and he'll point to the sink (or wherever it is) and say 'nk, nk' It's very cute original.gif

Brayden got some new sneakers last night, so now when he 1st puts them on he'll want me to count to see how fast he can run to something!!??

Taylah has Gymnastics tonight. I hate it when DH is on late shift ... means taking all the kids out at 6.45pm. It's not too bad though, just easier leaving Brayden and Riley with DH while i run Taylah there original.gif

Adele welcome original.gif Yep we all go through the stage you're describing! You just have to stand your ground and let Ameliyah know she can't have/do anything she wants. It's hard at times though sad.gif Sounds like she's going great spelling her name! Lol at her singing, sounds like a star in the making!

Julie oh no, poor Aliyah sad.gif Hope she's feeling a bit better now, poor thing sad.gif

Mel that's great that Jack sat and watched Monster House, and that Meg happily amused herself original.gif

Phillippa welcome original.gif Bugger about the food spitting! I have never been though that stage!!! My kids must like their food too much! Lol!! Good luck TTing in 10 weeks time, i'm sure if you give it 100% Tristan will get it no worries original.gif (i hope!!)

Saira i gather by your 'AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!' you were having a bad kid day!!?? huh.gif sad.gif

Well better get going, take care!

*sigh*

Where to start. Kaitlyn has again had a stroppy day. God how I wish she could tell me what is wrong. She woke at about 2am for a bottle. I can't remember if i changed her nappy before or after the bottle, but my god she was screaming. As soon as i lay her down it was as if she was in pain. She went back to sleep okay, but was just unsettled for the rest of the day. She didn't have a poo yesterday, so I though maybe she was a bit constipated? She did have two today though - they weren't hard or anything so I just don't know. Teeth? Her cold? I know she's not getting enough sleep, but I just don't know how to change that! I can't force her to sleep. She does have a very bright room - the curtains aren't very good. Tomorrow i'm going to put her in my bed for her daysleeps to see if that makes a difference (our room is very dark with the curtains closed).

DS' TTing isn't going too well either. He seems to just not be interested anymore - doesn't want to go to the toilet. Just does it in his pants. I don't know whether to put him back in nappies for a little while? Or should I persevere? I don't want to pressure him into it - should I give him a break?

Ahhhhh this parenting gig is really quite hard. I tell you sometimes I just don't know what i'm doing. I definitely wouldn't win any mother of the year awards that's for sure LOL!!

Tracey - awww how cute is Riley looking for his duck friends? just adorable. PMSL at Brayden's new shoes!! Didn't you know? New shoes make you go faster ROFL!! too cute!

Adele - yes, your Ameliyah is such a clear talker!! Very impressive! What a clever girl learning how to spell her name, and memorising songs!! it's cute hearing them sing isn't it? DS sings that flowers in my hair song all the time.

Julie - you're not a bad mummy!! Hope she's on the mend now!!

Mel - I've done that so many times. Made something that DS asked for and he doesn't even touch it. Now I tell him I am not a restaurant and he eats what he's given or he goes without. Mean mummy aren't I? LOL

Philly - My DS used to do the food spitting thing. TBH I can't remember what i did to discipline him about it, (lol sorry not much help!), but I can say it was a shortlived phase. I hope it's the same for your case!

Okay - am trying for an early night and gave myself a strict curfew so will leave it there.
Tracy83
Oh god where do i start !!!

Alyssa drives me insane some days where i just feel like locking myself in my room. Just her moods and attitude. It concerns me sometimes cos i dont want her to be a bully (emotionally, she couldn't be one physically hehe). I just react calm to her and if she's being really naughty, i giver her no attention. So hopefully that behaviour isn't linked with attention seeking. Oh i hope this phase passes... I still got the teen years to go .. blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

Kara is such a good little baby. Only has a bit of a grizzle every now and then for food and her teething. The only issue i have is her weight. LOL, not that its a bad thing but she is too heavy for me to carry around. I give her a lot of tummy time and she can roll and kinda move around but i wouldn't call it crawling. The prob is that not only is she heavy to hold after a while, she wriggles and i just have to put her down but then she starts crying.. aaahhhhh... SHe has a walker and a swing and one of those activity gyms. But those things can only stimulate her for so long. Then she wants to be picked up. I dont mind if she rests on my chest but thats not the position she wants...

Any idea's ?? unsure.gif unsure.gif unsure.gif

Well thanks for listening to my whinging.. blush.gif

Jaimie - Sorry to hear about Ethan's TTing. ALyssa was the same. She was nearly there, and when Kara was born, she went back into nappies again. Alyssa had a friend (her age who was in undies) who slept over one night and she just watched him go to the toilet and then she decided thats what she wanted to do. So maybe have a close friend of Ethans to show him. It worked for Alyssa. I gace ALyssa a sparkler and a caandle to bloe out everytime she went to the toilet and did a wee. If she did a poo, she got the sparkler, candle, and a scoop of ice cream with sprinkles on top. I let ALyssa do the sprinkles. Its hard work, i know, but Alyssa sat on the toilet and waited for wee's and poo's just so she could have those treats. And slowly i took one thing away at a time by saying she had to help me find them at the shop cos we ran out. Of course she forgot all about it. Wow, what a long personal. hehe

Tracey - Riley seems like he is really growing up fast with his talking now. original.gif PMSL about Brayden and his sneakers. That is really cute. And you must be so proud of Taylah and her gymnastics. Might have an olympian on your hands.

Adele - I understand where you are coming from with Ameliyah. Im sorry i dont have any advice cos im looking for some blush.gif Ameliyah seems quite advanced for her age. Spelling her name already. I cant get ALyssa to do that no matter how much i try. She has really good speech too. (Not sure if you find all her talking a positive or a negative Tounge1.gif)

beautifulgirls - Dont feel bad about not knowing. I wouldn't have figured it out. But good job with trying to make it better. You are a good mummy.

Ok i better go now as i can hear Kara stiring... Its prob her teeth again wacko.gif
*~*Adele*~*
Just a quick personal to JAIMIE- I would keep perservering with Ethan. I know some other mums may not agree & say just let him do it when he's ready.. but he has done so well so far. Even if he's having some bad days now, thats what happens in tt'ing with kids. I probably was a bit strict with Ameliyah when it came to tt'ing, but it EVENTUALLY happened. Just have some patience & I think your doing a great job.. its all a learning curve (for parent & child). Just keep it up & he will get there!!

On the advice that Tracy gave, I am bringing Ameliyah around on Saturday night for the games night, so maybe she'll be able to help Ethan then. You never know it might just do the trick!!
jgal
Ahhhh - I was wondering whatever happened to our baby talk thread. I have found you all now so I will have to come in and do a propper post on the weekend while I procrastinate from my study!

Just quickly though, Austy is trying to talk already, and by talk, I mean say real wor=ds that sort of resemble something! It took me by surprise when he shouted "Yeiga" on tuesday as I changed his nappy (ther is a tiger stikaround on the wall above the table) and now it has become Diega and he says it every nappy change. I am soooo proud of my little man! Who cares if he still doesn't crawl properly - he says words! (Well sort of!) He also says ouwa (shower), baa (bath) and du (duck). He is abit confused with the cat though and calls him Gah(I think it's a cross between Gryffin and cat). He watches intently when we copy the words he says (but say them correctly) and he tries to say them again with a big smile on his face - he thinks he's so clever). Gotta love 'em eh?
