DD is 3mnth old. Have been breastfeeding but am trying to get her take take EBM in bottle. Have had no luck with Avent. She just chews and pushes teat out of her mouth. Have just invested in Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles to try these. (this exercise is getting expensive! <_< )
My questions are:
where do I position the anti colic valve whilst feeding? Top, bottom or side? huh.gif

How do you bottle feed in general? Hold her against body as if bfing? lay on a pillow? huh.gif

would I have more luck getting DH to do it? wink.gif

How far in her mouth does the teet go? The teets seem so long, much longer than my nipples blush.gif , and it seems a long way in to get her lips around the rounder part of the teet. (doesnt look to be as bad on the tommee tippee though)

I will be expressing tonight to try new bottles tomorrow.

Any tips and advice would be appreciated biggrin.gif ....also any positive feedback from users of these teets who had no luck with other types.

I comp fed DD with avent bottles before switching to FFing. I can't help you with your first question, but:

How do you bottle feed in general:
I used to hold her like I was breastfeeding, but now I hold her on my knee and upright as it helps her reflux a bit. I wouldn't suggest a pillow as it would be no good to you in all situations if that is all she is used to.

Would I have more luck getting DH to do it?
Yep, as she will smell your milk on you. I found my DD would take the bottle but only after an argument. But with DH she would just go for it.

How far in the mouth does the teet go?
Yep, they do seem long, but they don't stretch the same as a nipple!! LOL! Seriously, her lips do need to be around the rounder part, as otherwise she will take in air and have wind.

If you don't have luck with theese bottles, try and buy new teats rather than the whole bottle.
good luck!
