1. are you talking a BBB booster or a foldup? if booster then probably the microfibre, as it's 3 layers and bigger, but a foldup folds in 3 so that makes 6 layers of bamboo and is one of my all time favourite pocket stuffers. i do luff a bit of microfibre tho

2. no idea

3. no

4. i hang them over the rack on the clothes horse. if they have snaps i attach them to stop them blowing off

5. that's got to be the weirdest nappy question ever laugh.gif

tongue.gif to weirdest nappy question

What I mean is if you fold it in half or three does it matter?

oh and I meant a BB fold up insert thingie

oh and does how you hang the fitteds affect the elastic? I guess I should have been more specific blush.gif

Thankyou original.gif

1. A bbb booster as it can be folded in 3.

2. www.modernnappies.org or www.ozclothnappies.org

3. no, but then I only have 2.

4. I hang them sideways on the clothes line.

5. With the boosters on the bb's with the longer booster, I find it better if I fold it over in half.

I haven't compared, so cant help on that one, sorry!

2) Where can I find a pattern for a Wool soaker?

ozclothnappies.org has soaker pattern links- lots of people have used them with success. You might need to tweak a bit to get the perfect fit for your baby but I am sure you woud have some fun in the process original.gif

3) Do you ever use wool covers during the day?

we do sometimes! They just look so adorable. Wool does make a very effective cover and using them during the day would work wonderfully.

4) How do you hang your fitted nappies to dry?

I drape ours over a clothes horse most of the time, but when I line dry, I hang them sideways...by that I mean horizontally over the line (like you would a bedsheet) rather than vertically. Hanging them sideways means less unecessary stretching of elastic.

5) If you have a hemp or bamboo booster does how you fold it affect its absorbancy?

Our bab isnt as heavy a wetter as he used to be, but when he was peeing more, we would fold the booster so that there were multiple layers in the wetzone. So for example with the bamboo fold up, one side would be folded in 1/3 of the way, and then I'd flip it around so the folded edge was facing me, and then fold in thirds from the other direction. That would mean multiple layers at the front right where my boyo needs it original.gif

Hope that helps!

i guess to be more specific, it wouldn't actually change absorbency, because a fabric is as absorbent as it is no matter how it's folded. BUT, with heavy/fast wetters you can benefit by folding it so there's a thicker layer in the wet zone, so there is more to take the wet as it comes out and makes it less likely to pee out the leg or something.

i'm still not sure which booster would be better, i do love microfibre but the BBH foldups really are incredibly absorbent.

A cotton babies insert will hold 130ml of wee.

I don't have a BB booster, so I don't know how much it will hold. The whole counting layers thing will work if you're comparing the same fabric, but not between fabric. For example, on layer of thick hemp fleece might just absorb more than one layer of cotton flannel

4) How do you hang your fitted nappies to dry?

Sideways. And always use two pegs... one rainy day I didn't have much room on the clothes horse and I hung them by one peg at one corner, so they were hanging kind of diagonally --- major stretching sad.gif not a good idea

Thank you biggrin.gif That's exactly what I was after.

One more thing, Davina - are you left handed?? blush.gif
Anivad
Nope- right handed. But I am wierd, I wear my watch on the right too wink.gif
girlwonder
OMG, I can't believe someone actually asked if Davina was left handed I've been wondering that myself for months! LOL.
Binna
Why did everyone think Davina was left handed?
Binna
Aaaah. I have a few other nappies the same. But I am so used to them and the Beehinds that I find the other side odd. I do up the left side first.
