cry1.gif That's how we both end up! My two haven't ever been the best breastfeeders but we've been doing ok, at least until now.
DD decided yesterday afternoon that she would not have a bar of it, and carried on for about 1/2 an hour before I gave up. She had dinner as normal (loves solids) and then a bottle as per normal routine. I maybe could have offered breast instead of bottle but last night was my night out and I wasn't giving it up.
Then this morning we had the same drama although she did end up having a good feed after lots of persistence.

Any ideas from the BF'ing nazis ( biggrin.gif ) out there? I guess at the end of the day we've done pretty well to get to 7 months, DS is still quite happy too so it's not completely over. I'd still like to continue if possible though.
Thanks for your help.

HI larissa
i think you are have done extremely well to breastfeed both your children - twins - i have a hard enough time breastfeeding one! and you have breastfeed both of them to 7 months old that is pretty good!

I cant really help you.. we are in a total different age group, my little one is 7 weeks old (even though the signature seys otherwise) and we have breast refusal also - only certain times of the day.. and not always have a long feed either - we lucky to get 30minutes of feeding..

i recommend to contact the australian breastfeeding association - i found them to be wonderful help for us..
they may be able to give you some hints..

for us.. i always offer the breast first then if my son wont take it then we do the bottle..

but i wish you all the best of luck.. it must be hard and frustrating for you, you sound as if you want to continue to breastfeed.

Thanks Leish,
The bottle is definately the crux of the problem for us but pretty unavoidable! I'm a bit mean now though and they only get offered one in the morning while DH is here and one at night although if DD keeps refusing to feed I'll have to relent and offer her more formula, she's just a bit too little to only have solids.
Best of luck with your little one, if it's any consolation DS only started BF'ing at 5 1/2 weeks old and I managed to get them both fully BF during the day.
Best of luck,
Lyra
I've been through breast refusal a few times and all I can say is just keep offering it and persisting. I found that sometimes B would refuse one side and take the other. Other times a small object that only came out at boob time was enough to motivate B to take a quick feed
I do suggest ringing the ABA, they gave me heaps of ideas of how to get through it!
