I have had a stomach bug for the last couple of days - I won't go into details blush.gif

Not only have I been unwell but I have also not been eating and have hardly been drinking any water (I usually manage between 1.5 and 2 litres a day).

Does anybody know how badly this can be affecting my 4 month old? She is exclusively breastfed and while she hasn't been too unsettled she has been wanting to feed a little more frequently. I have assumed that my supply has dropped a little because of my diet (or lack thereof).

Do you think I am worrying about nothing?

TIA

Hi

I had a bug myself last week and was worrying about the same thing.

As you said she is feeding more often and this will be compensating for any reduce in supply you would have and instructing your body to produce more milk.

As long as your daughter is still having enough wet nappies a day and is happy, your milk supply should be fine.

Your baby will continue to get everything she needs, she will be fine. She will also get immunity from you, and hopefully won't get sick.

Hope you get better soon

Your supply is probably affected, I know mine was when I had gastro (unfortunately several times) but once you start getting your fluids up it should get going again.

I hope you get better soon and your lovely baby doesn't get it!
