Oh, I missed the biggest, sloppiest, ugliest poo today. Yuck. I could hear him wake and was thinking "I should go put him on potty" but it was sooo warm in bed. LOL. I don't think I'm motivated enough.

Jerry - Wow, that's great that shes so aware. You could just pop her on first thing in the morning. The longer you train her to go in the nappy, the longer it takes to untrain. This was kind of my reasoning behind putting H on the potty - only now I'm teetering on mostly without nappies, instead of occassionally.

happy2bme - Sorry I didn't realise you were already working. You are doing well to keep up with us! Yeah, it is harder to cope with lack of sleep when working. At least if we have a shocker of a night now, I can catch up when the children have their day sleeps.

Don't let your friend's comments upset you. You have to do what is right for you. We used to have a member of this group who didn't believe in childcare and would make the occassional anti-childcare statement. Then she told us she was pulling her teenage daughter out of school to mind the toddler while she had dr appointments.

So it proved to me that nobody has all the solutions and to never believe any method of parenting is superior to another. Parents do what is best for them.

Dearnne - how cool that it has parents control. I can imagine the fun you'll have with that! Do you have a dog you can chase around the back garden? LOL, I'm such a kid at heart!
*Meg*
GIO – Next Lydia will be shaving her head!!! happy.gif

Jerry – I was wondering where Lynne has gone too unsure.gif

We haven’t seen Karina around much lately either, she must be very busy with her new baby original.gif

Dearnne – I know where Rooty Hill is biggrin.gif I lived in Sydney for about 5 years. A fair hike from Bexley though. I have heaps of creams for Hayleys eczema but at the moment none of them are doing anything sad.gif The nurse we saw yesterday gave us a cream I haven’t had before and it seems to be helping. My dinner was lovely, thank you original.gif Dh made me chicken with cream and white wine sauce! Yum.

POV – I let DH go to the drag racing so I could have a couple of days of peace and quiet! Hehe happy.gif

I hope everyone is having a lovely day original.gif

Morning everyone

Sorry but this will be fairly quick as I'm on my way to the airport

Does anyone know anything about smoke alarms? I've just replaced the battery in mine as it was beeping every 20secs or so and it's still doing it. Any ideas anyone?

Meg - Happy Birthday for yesterday! I don't think you're as old as I am LOL

Happy2beme - don't let your friends comments get to you. You do what's best for you and your family and as long as James is happy then obviously what you're doing is not wrong

Sleep - we have issues too. It was 3.30am this morning when Ryan woke screaming. I'm not 100% sure it's teeth - he's just had 2 more come through so we have 3 up and 3 down. I can't get him back to sleep so I end up taking him to bed with me and then he's asleep straight away - probably the problem!

Jerry - I hope Molly gets better soon

Kerry - PMSL at the image of you knitting with fag in mouth. Made my day that did tongue.gif

GIO - is it you taking herbal stuff to increase your chances of TTC? Can I ask what you're taking?

Best off as Ryan has decided to do a poo just as I put a clean nappy on him. I'm sure he waits for a dry nappy before he does one!

Have a good day all
dearnne
ellie, your right, usually the smoke alarm beeps because the battery is going flat. Was the battery you put in a brand new one? Perhaps it is flat too?
spinifex
Well everybody I officially can't keep up! We have had colds and tiredness lately so I have been reading and falling asleep so no posts from me for a while.

Anyway ...
Meg, poor Hayley, iis the bleeding like weeping, or cracked skin, it mst really really hurt. I can;t remember if you said if you have had allergy tests done on Hayley, maybe it's not lactose she's intolerant to, but cows milk protein, that's what my girls can;t have and they are really prone to ezcesma (cannot spell). I have Liv on a goat's milk formula and it seems to work okay. Thanks for asking after me, LOL, I hadn;t realised that I had not put any thing about what we were p to - maybe as we weren;t up to much!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY for yesterday!

Kerry - Lol at picture of you knitting, I am very daggy and am sure I can find you a brunch coat - but I'm not giving away my rollers (heated mind you!), I love them!

Shazz - sorry to hear about your friend, I also have a close friend who drives me crazy with her comments about how she is effectively a better mother than me because she doesn't work; I also have a friend who is a SAHM and she is really supportive of me, so it;s not really about you, it's about where your friend is at, try not to pay any attention. Even when I'm not working I have my girls in childcare/preschool one or two days a week cos we live on a farm and otherwise the poor things would never see another person under 30. Even Liv goes. I'd love to be the kind of mum that does all the play and developmental stuff but I have accepted that I'm just not (although we do love to dance, does that count?). So childcare gives them all that and I just keep trying to do my best.

Immunisation - What POV said. (although Liv has yet to get her 12 month old ones -hopefully next week). I have a friend who banned another friend's children from her house til her new baby was six months old. Friend A said while she was fine with Friend B's decision not to immunise her children, she also assumed Friend B would not mind her not exposing a baby to children who hadn;t been immunised, until she could get the baby up to date.

GIO - LOL at Lydia and no undies. I'm so impressed you are getting Henry already up to no nappies (apart from little glitches!), it hadn;t even occurred to me, I have a 2yo I am only just training so maybe I'll do Liv now as well!

Sleep - Liv went through a stage but now seems back to ood long sleeps.

POV - I wondered why you were moving. Hope you get a better real estate agent this time.

Jerry - I am not sure how big Liv is, she was off the scale (at the wrong end) for quite a while but has been in size 0 for about two weeks now, mainly becase she is long, not because 00s were too tight. And since she has been on formula rather than breastfed (solids made no real difference) she is turning into an absolute heifer, I will have to weigh her tonight and check her weight. I don;t think she's as little as Molly - did you say Molly was about 8kg? I think Liv would be about 10. I am worried about the developmental stuff, she's not doing any of the things the other babies here are doing, pulling herself up but still only commando crawling, no signs of toilet training or walking or talking. BUT since Easter she does have a whole new row of four top teeth to add to her two bottom teeth! So she's outstanding in some directions.

Well I keep getting phone calls so had better go, will be back for more shortly. Sorry to those I missed.

Cheers,
Carol.

Hi All,

Sorry I havent been around much but been busy. Gee havent we all been a chatty bunch. Just finished catching up on the thread. Man I dont know where to start. Mmmmmmmmmmm. I think I'll come back later and do personals when missy is in bed.

Last Sunday we met Shelly, DH & Kaylah and had a nice time. Wish I could meet more of you.

On Monday I'm going into hospital to have my Lap/Dye done. This is my 3rd Lap/Dye but cant remember do you actually get a period after the op? I guess it depends on what they do hey? I know they will have to remove any endo that has grown back since before having Kya to make my chance higher of conceiving again.

Well better go and clean, feed Kya lunch, put her to bed before DH gets back with our guest who is staying for a few nights so DH can help him prepare and train for his fight in 2 weeks.

You lot can talk

I'll come and do personals when the grot has a nap

original.gif
*astro*
just quick as i have to get dinner started...

immunisations - this is something thats been banging around my head for a while, i'm yet to get Eve's 12 month needles done, although she had all except the newborn ones, which i declined. i'm just not sure about it anymore.

gotta run...
tinkster23
ok, she refuses to sleep, will do personals tonight, but wanted to say...

you know i'm a paeds nurse so my view is somewhat skewed.

PLease get immunisations done

Nothing is worse than seeing a child suffering from a disease that could have been prevented.
And think how guilty you would feel if your un-immunised child exposed other children, babies, even pg women

OK rant over

original.gif
.Jerry.
Amanda - yep, the 18 month immunisation is just chicken pox. A while back the MMR used to be given at 18 months (now it is at 12 months). As it happens, autism symptoms usually are noticed at about18 months, so when it was when the MMR vaccs were given it was convenient to blame them. rolleyes.gif Will be interesting to see the statistics on autism diagnoses and immunisation over the next ten years. Me thinks the theory may be debunked! tongue.gif I agree with POV - autism is probably genetic. Many of our kids with autism at school have family members also on the autism spectrum.

Is Ava walking properly yet? Molly only tantalises us with a few steps here and there. Glad your zoo visit was fun. original.gif

Oh, just saw your other post. There is a whole spectrum for autism: ASD - Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Many variants. Every child is different.
tinkster23
Ok, had to go back to page 2

rebecca- i have to ask, how did zac cut his willy?? hope he's feeling better now anyway.

kerry- you are amazing. thats all. original.gif

ellie- i can't tell you whats in my herbal remedy, i dunno! I take vitex which is known to help regulate hormones, as well as zinc, the herbal rememdy (tastes like mud- i'll ask her whats in it next time i see her) and some other thing around ovulation. I can't speak highly enough of my natropath- julie peacock at natmed, east freo, she is amazing, i totally credit her with getting us pg, naturally after 2 years of trying. pm me if you have any other questions. oh- and i didn't kill my dh, tho he deserved it!

manfurme- wish i could come and give you some more alone time, i dunno what i'd do if i didn't get it, and you have TWO babies and it sounds like less time alone than me!

lillith- bad breath can come and go i find, and the others are right, start brushing now, hannah has her own toothbrush, we brush them and then let her play (and chew) with it for a while in the bath every night- i figure familiarisation is a good thing. i'm so not flossing tho- she bites!

hi carol!

jerry- phone appt's are a bit weird. you are doing the right thing, shes walking! shes growing, shes gorgeous! I know its hard not to worry, but I've never heard anything from you that seriously concerns me about molly. Is she better at eating solids yet? is that the reason for the appt? oh- and tell dh its not swimming lessons, a nurse said so tongue.gif

pov- had to lol at mr whistle

dehalan- hannah bites too, but only bites me, little sh*t!

meg- dh once lost his eftpos card and had borrowed mine, and failed to return it, i had the same thing happen, SO embarrassing, i bawled all the way home and then rang and abused the sh*te outta dh. hes not allowed to borrow my card anymore, no matter how many times he loses his. we've had hannah on nan ha gold from when she was tiny, and she has lactose issues and copes with this fine. sorry to hear hayley's tummy isn't good, but jerry's right, if her poo is ok, its unlikely to be a tummy thing. could be ear infection? maybe go see your gp and just get him to check her over. hope your b'day was good, sounds like you scored!

dearne- LOVE the car, mum wanted to get one for hannah and i said no, shes too little, shes still very happy to play with cardboard boxes! love to know how you go on the plane, we'll be going to adelaide later this year and i'm not looking forward to it

astro- a DAY off, how'd you snaffle that? and another so envious of eve's hair!

pov- you could never be a bimbo, sorry, just isn't gonna work for you!

lexalotti- hannah has a baby doll which she carries around kissing, its so cute!

amanda- ava's feet are healing amazingly, must be hard, but also SO worth it

happy2bme- its dangerous to try and dress hannah, she does those huge two legged kicks, i swear if (when?) i get pg dh will have to do that, and all the nappy changes :lol a girl can dream right? I also agree with gio- if i hadn't gone back to work i would have seriously lost my mind, I'm a much better mum and wife and person with a little time out, maybe see if you can go part time, i've just cut my hours back as i realised i was tired all the time, didn't want to play with hannah and felt like i was always working- sucked big time

hi jen. we've been having day sleep issues, but no probs at work. don't work too ahrd

hi gayle

gio- wtg on the nappy free time, i'm SO slack, i'm not even thinking about it! PLus i've spent a fortune on cute nappies!

chook hello, it is hard to keep up here, i agree! Good luck with the op, hpoe it does the trick

and did i say- get your children immunised. we aren't talking little colds, we are talking serious diseases.
its a pet peeve with me, i hate looking after really sick kids that could have been immunised, or worse little tiny babies who have been exposed cos other people didn't immnise..

getting off soap box now

I have to agree sorry seen kids in hospital when T has been in with things that could have been prevented with getting them immunised. A fair few of them do die when they get those illnesses and a lot end up severly brain damaged. So i have to agree with getting their needles.

ok cant remember anything else so sorry to those i missed but rona is chucking the biggest tanty and im ready to put her outside if it doesnt stop soon.

Hope everyone has a good night

torito
Hi Everyone, I can't do personals today, I am exhausted and can't remember a thing. But I have read them all....

I went to the doctor today finally and she told me that she recommends weening. I am a bit sad about it but I am not the healthiest eater (although I try to be when pregnant). So I will see how I go. I have dropped DD's day time feed and am only feeding 5am and to sleep at night. Tonight though I put her to bed without a BF to see if I could (DP is working until 9pm). I gave her heaps of cuddles and read her two books and she finally went to sleep. I feel like cry1.gif but I am so scared of not eating enough nutrients and something being wrong with the bub. hands.gif

I also had a s$%t load of blood taken. 6 vials. My God it was a lot, even the girl thought so. I think the Dr is testing my iron, calcium levels etc because I asked if it was possible plus all the normal early pg blood tests.

Anyway, sorry for the me post and the length, hi to everyone.

Kate
tinkster23
yup, i wanna prize for the longest post

torito- thats crud. you don't need to wean. do you take a good multivitamin?
if you eat well (not perfect, well) you can feed right through your pregnancy, and co-feed (is that the word?) when bubs arrives
spinifex
Tinkster, I laughed as I read your last post, I loved your posts today, I think you took your don't mess with me pills!

Lexalotti I forgot who it was that was house hunting til I saw everyone else's posts to you, I hope you find something you like, must have been sad to see the one you really liked, go.

And Deearnne, I forgot to say I am so jealous of Taylor's car - never mind my girls - I always wanted a car like that.

Thanks Amanda and others for reassurance about Liv - I know in my head she will catch up and am just thrilled she's just a healthy little girl, there's lots of other things I could worry about. She's happy and healthy and that's really good enough for me. And from your and jerry's reports, I can;t wait to go to the zoo!

Chook I had something I wanted to say to you to, but can't remember. So hello!
'Night everybody,
Carol
happy2bme
Gosh it is quiet in here today. I am supposed to be at work but got a phone call to pick James up.

Has anyone's bubs had a reaction to the 12 months needles??

Thanks everyone for the comments on my friend, working and immunisation.
nowsinglewith1
We have had no reaction. I was told the main 1 would be 1 week after- sorry can't remember when James had them.
ellie41
Shazz - is James ok? Do you think he's having a reaction to his needles? I was told if there is a reaction it would be 9-12 days afterwards.

Ryan screamed for 3 hours about 4 hours after he'd had his needles and was pretty unsettled for about 10 days afterwards. Slight fever but nothing more. He had teeth coming through too so hard to say what the exact cause was.

tinkster - will pm re your naturopath when Ryan lets me. He's just screamed for 15 mins and I don't have the patience today to listen to him so have got him up and he's running around chortling to himself. Well done on the mammoth post!

I hear paper being ripped...best be off and see what destruction awaits me LOL
happy2bme
No need to panic - apparently james has a virus which causes a rash. I suspect it is something he caught from DH's nephew - ARHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh

Oh well hopefully my baby will be back to his normal self in a couple of days.
.Jerry.
Freak out moment!!!! ffear.gif
Have I ever cut Molly's toenails?
Should I have ever cut Molly's toenails?
Do they grow much?

Maybe I am just sleep deprived! Molly partied until 1.30am this morning. yyawn.gif SHe was like the energizer bunny. Crazy child.

Hope all babies and mums are well.
haventhadenoughat6
HI,

JERRY:: I never had to cut T's till she was about 18 months i have cut ronas 3 times already. They say its a good sign of calcium if they grow quick but t was fine, i now have to cut hers every month they grow real quick. Hope Molly sleeps tonight LOL she could come play with T she is up till then most nights laughing2.gif .

SHAZZ:: They can get a rash from the needles Rona got a little bit of one about 6 days after hers.

ELLIE:: WHat was he into laughing2.gif Rona loves paper rolleyes.gif

TORITO:: OK im confused you are pregnant again ?? RIGHT ?? I fed through my pregnancy with T and at the start i felt pretty yuck but i found if i just ate more little meals i was fine and after the first 3-4 months i felt great. I also snacked a lot on rice crackers and that sort of stuff and also soy ice cream ph34r.gif it helped keep the calcium up.

Well better go banshee is at it again.

Kerry

PS CAN THOSE WHO KNIT PM ME I HAVE A ?? AND DONT WANT TO APPEAR TO STUPID THANKS ph34r.gif
spinifex
Hi everybody,
quiet today ...
Torito, I don't know anything about stopping and starting breastfeeding but I just added a multivitamin and started being a bit more religious with my pregnancy and breastfeeding vitamin when I was feeding DD1 while pregnant with DD2 (only for a couple of months), also just started trying to get lots of rest, doc told me it would not be a problem. BUT if you do end up following your doctor's advice, don't feel guilty, all you can ever do is what seems best for both your babes and sometimes it may seem that you are being pulled in opposite directions, just give yourself a break. Hope that makes sense.

Shazz, what does the rash look like? I hope James starts to feel better soon.

Jerry and everybody, I cut Liv's fingernails think we've cut toenails once, can't be sure though.

Well, I just hopped on the scales with Liv and she is a hefty 9kg, what have I been worrying about. My weight, on the other hand WAS a cause for concern - and not cause I was too light! Should have weighed Liv before easter not after.

Well better go DH is home and girls are still up, don;t want to be sprung in front of computer!
Cheers,
Carol.
nowsinglewith1
We do Kaylah's fingernails once a fortnight and toe nails once a month or so. Finger Nails were very long today and she has a lovely scar under her chin, so I cut them when we got home.

Off to Geelong tomorrow to see my Nanna, Uncle and little cousin (she is 20 years younger than me). Then Sunday we are off to see a friends parents who haven't met Kaylah in Frankston, so 2 road trips in a weekend for us.

Amanda- I brought the Brauers, used last night and tonight and she was reasonably happy, but we have bad nappy rash so I think that was hurting her. But so far so good- thanks for the tip.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, when I'm less slack I'll pop some photos on MSN from our meet up with Kya and family.

Happy- hope James' virus clears up soon.

Hope everyone has a good weekend,

Shelly

Guys can someone paost the link for the leg cover thingies please? I've tried to go back and look but can't remember when we were discussing them. hands.gif hands.gif Kaylah has a fairy party to go to and I want something on her legs. Also does anyone know if they make fairy wings for 1 year olds?

Thanks,

Edited b/c it double up

I think I found them- were they called baby legs?
torito
Thanks guys, I am pregnant yes Kerry. I just feel torn. I am having a lot of snacks and drinking a lot and have been more aware of how much calcium I am eating. I think I will just cut down on how much I'm feeding 1 or 2 BF a day and if she doesn't want it anymore then great. I just don't know how much more of all the vitamins etc I need, is there a resource that tells you? I am on Blackmores Multivitamin, is there a better one, Elivit? Does that have anything significantly better?

Must get some sleep.....

Kate
.Jerry.
Shelly - Target also have babyleg style leg thingys... saw them yesterday.
spinifex
Torito, maybe dropping a feed or two might help - I don't know, ask the experts like Tinkster, how many breast feeds are you giving a day? I'm onto bottles now, have been for about 6-8 weeks, and I'm doing 3 bottle feeds and she has a drinker of water which she ad lib drinks from.

Shelly - good travelling and you just have to post some pics of Fairy Kaylah when she goes to her party.

I'm trying to do invitations for DD1s fourth birthday, she wants a girl's morning tea (all pink), she does want some boys but has decided they can sit at a different table! How sexist! I think we'll negotiate on that ... what would I put on their invitations, that they are invited to the Claytons birthday? with a brown table cloth? Maybe work boot decorations instead of stars and wands. And little chikkos jelly babies instead of pink and white marshmallows.
Well, night all,
Carol
nowsinglewith1
Thanks Jerry I'll go have a look tomorrow, I'll take her dress so I can get a match. The dress is Aqua I guess, So I'm thinking blue or purple wings so maybe get the leg things to match the winds.

Spinifex I'll put up photos of her just in the tutu, but will get lots of fairy one's at the party.
nowsinglewith1
Some photos are in msn of our Easter meet up.
Chook3
Shelly - Thanks for posting the photos of our meet but I dont like the look of Kya since that stupid hairdresser cut her fringe straight across instead of chipping at it like we always do. I guess its part my fault though from not paying attention to what she was doing but its hard to watch whilst trying to hold Kyas head still.

Anyone thought anymore on a mega meet?
*Meg*
Chook & Shelley - Those are lovely pics - what beautiful girls you have original.gif Chook, her hair loooks good - she has so much of it too!!

Just a quick post from me today as I am very busy packing (well I am supposed to be). I took Hayley back to the doctor on Thursday because her eczema suddenly spread over her whole body and she was crying and bleeding etc. It was awful!! Anyway the doc thinks it may be the formula so she is definitely on the soy formula now. And antibiotics and gulp, steriods for 2 days. I'm trying not to think too much about that one, but her eczema is looking really good and shes not scratching anymore original.gif

Ironic that 1 week after I stop feeding her she is on antibiotics!!! mad.gif

I forgot what else I was going to say!! There were some personals in my brain that have vanished!! Anyway I'm off to Sydney tomorrow so I will be offline for a week or so. I hope to catch up with Kerry and Karina on Monday original.gif

Take care all original.gif
spinifex
Hi everyone, I went to go have a look at the new pics on MSN and can't remember my user name, is there anyone who can see it on there and let me know?

Thanks heaps! Sorry to be a pain.

Carol
nowsinglewith1
Edited b/c it look like Jac found it.

Chook- if there are ay in particular you like pm me yr email and I'll email them to you- that's not al of them.but though they were some of the best.
spinifex
Thanks POV and Shelly.
Oh - and Meg or anyone got any tips on ezcema treatment, DD1 has the most awful rash right, really raised and bumpy, I've stopped being a no-soap vigilante and I think it's that.

Night all.
atua
my god you girls can talk biggrin.gif

off to read the last 7 pages......but i'm a lot more mobile now original.gif
~mimo~
Kaylah's mum, sorry about your pet! sad.gif Noticed you are down to one now. closedeyes.gif

I heard from Lynne, she is well but very tired so limiting time on PC. She said to say hi and hoping all mums and bubs are well.
nowsinglewith1
Thanks mimo- the last 2 have lasted over 2 years so we're on bonus time, but the novelty wore off long ago I have to say.

Off to bed for a full day at work tomorrow,
