Was finally brave enough to try MCN overnight after converting to them fulltime during the day a couple of months ago. Used a PUL cover and a BBB with both booster and it worked brilliantly! biggrin.gif But OMG, the smell was gross! sick.gif Even her pj's and sheet stunk dispite the fact that they were bone dry! sick.gif

Anyway, I've just ordered a fleece cover to try which won't be here until at least next week if that, so in the mean time I'm wondering if night nappies smell less with fleece or wool covers compared to PUL. I know PUL is suppose to breathable, but I'm sure it wouldn't be as breathable as fleece or wool.

Thanks. biggrin.gif

I've heard that the PUL covers are probably not the best to use overnight, but your on the right track with the wool biggrin.gif

Are BBB's hemp - coz this will be another reason for the smell. We recently gave our hemp night nappy away and only use bamboo and never have a problem with smelly night nappies. Running the hemp night nappy from the bedroom to the laundry was done in .00496 seconds flat. They reeked sick.gif

So we use bamboo night nappies, with wool covers/soakers.

I use BBB Bamboo with a wool cover, and honestly, some mornings the whole room stinks to high heaven...

But I haven't had a problem with the pj's and sheets smelling. The smell goes away after the room is opened up a bit (he sleeps with his door pulled shut).

I find the same thing. If anything, when i was using PUL covers overnight i think the smell was trapped a bit more IYKWIM and not as whiffy. The purpose of wool is to allow evaporation so i find that her gro-bag and sheets often carry a slight odour first thing, but it tends to disipate throughout the day.

Hemp nappies are a lot worse, but i find the bamboo is still smelly. Considering they have wee'd in it all night (10+hours), i guess its to be expected. One of her hemp nappies reeked so badly of ammonia the other day the i strip washed it, so i'll see if that makes any difference. I was wondering whether leaving them in the nappy bucket for a couple of days may contribute to the odours remaining even after washing?

Hope my mindless rambling was somewhat helpful blush.gif

Hmmm, sounds like I might be stuck with the smell. sick.gif unsure.gif The BBB's are bamboo, so it isn't a hemp problem, and even after airing the pj's and room all day they still have a stale urine smell when she goes to bed at night. sad.gif Pretty off putting. sad.gif
