Last Weeks Bargain Seller

*sniff* Noone This Week - To Busy

Week Saturday 26th July to Friday 1st August 2008

New members are always welcome to join. The aim of this group is to make your first $20 selling something you already own. Once you have your first $20, you can use it to buy materials to make something to sell or buy used items (garage sales/op shops/personal ads etc) to sell in the next week hopefully making a profit. You then take your orginal $20 and do it all over again.

By keeping a thread we can moviate each other, see what does sell and how, what things can be picked up for and well who is bargain earner of the week! I also suggest making a goal of what you will use you profit to save up for - gives you a clear path and moviation. Each week you can report here and we can update details each weekend.

Most members so far have sold unused baby items laying around the house on Ebay or trading room to get their first $20. Please remember though you can not use EB trading room for making profits once you have your first $20.

What has sold so far
$5 motorcycle boots for $70 ebay
$20 pram for $75 ebay
$20 in materials and made stuff $65 markets
$20 pram for $71 ebay
$20 Baby Clothes for $33.50 ebay - however for time and effort put in, member didn't find it worth it
Highchair sold for $70 oztion
Breast Pump for $15 Ebay
$1 Tupperware Baking Form sold for $46 ebay
$5 Tupperware Stack Steamer sold for $28 ebay
$2 Tupperware MM Spice Set (4) sold for $11.50 ebay
Tupperware Stack Cooker sold for $66 ebay

What is a dud
Currently nothing *fingers crossed this never gets filled* original.gif

Had a good day today at the garage sales, I picked up a tupperware stack cooker for $5 and some tupperware spice modular mates for $2 - so really hoping they do as well as the last tupperware thing I sold original.gif

Hope everyone has a good week!

Great work Shellby! I visited 3 garage sales this morning, they were a bit dissapointing but it was ok since I have still to raise my initial $20 laughing2.gif

I did get one retro but great condition tupperware orange bowl & lid for 50c. I will be watching to see how your tupperware goes!

I have decided t change my goal to key locks for 4 of our windows as they are starting to worry us in being a security risk and no point servicing the sewing machine if it gets stolen the next week blush.gif

Tupperware is going well that I got and should be able to buy my locks next week - starting to really enjoy this making money challenge as it always has me looking out for bargains to sell.

Mumoftiwns - how did the CDs go?

Going a bit slow at the moment I am afraid. I have sold a few things on Ebay and Oztion and made $25 after fees.
I have updated my info below

Goal - (3rd) pay for my dd bday party on Aug 3
Profit to Date - $178.90
Fees Paid to Date - $33
Current Funds - $71.90
Products Brought - Waiting for next purchase

Now I should be able to buy all I need for dd bday party with that $71.90. I have had 2 friends have babies this week and as I made baby stuff back in week 1 of this challenge I haven't had to buy any presents and therefore I have probably saved myself $30!

After the party this weekend I will have to get back into this challenge original.gif

So, I tried to sell a couple of tops on eBay but only one sold ($10 profit, approx $2.50 in fees). I'm going to have to come up with another plan to make the rest of my $20. original.gif
But for the next couple of weeks I'm going to be too busy.
Shellby
Well my tw finished today........and I'm getting my locks biggrin.gif

Spice set I brought for $2 sold for $11.50
stack Steamer set I paid $5 sold for $28

Then I also sold my old stack cooker as I have never used it and got $66.

So total of $105.50 without fees etc.....

YAY!!

Wow Shelby you get the crown for bargain hunting. I dropped into Vinnies today and picked up a TW container but not being familiar with TW I don't even know what it is sad.gif The lady on the counter went "That's Tupperware, I just bought a rectangle one of those for $39" Then she said to the lady next to her "Why are we welling Tupperware for $1?" I thought I had better get out of there quickly before they upped the price.

Scrapping - if you send me a photo I can tell you what it is. Its sounding like a cake container - what colour is it?
scrappingaway
It is a dark brown round container with a brown top and base. I also got a suzette but it at least had its name on it so I knew what it was! LOL. Can you send pics through pm?

Ruth

yep, just sent the link where the photo is uploaded to.

Sounds like the round cake keeper

Brown would be one of the older models.

Is it like one of these but brown?

Not so high more for low round things like pies

or this

without the handle - as they tend to go missing.
