Hello all,

Been a while since I posted here, but it is time for me to get commited again. It is amazing what a broken heart can do for you. Started back 100% op today and am even walking DD to daycare, was a bit of a struggle today but I am sure it will get easier.

I hope you all have a great OP week.

Hi Girls,

Can I join in here? I've just started SS - day 5 and gosh I'm feeling pretty sh*t. Have about 20kgs to lose and am very motivated about it. This is because I suffered a miscarriage a few weeks ago and the OB said I need to lose weight (I don't really consider myself to be overweight, I'm a size 12 and just over 5"6) Anyway I also suffer from PCOS so any extra weight gain can contribute to m/c.

Does anyone have some good suggestions for receipes. I've been using the couple SS gave me and invented a few of my own but am looking for some variety.

Hope everyone has a great OP week - I weigh in for the first time Friday - don't feel like I've lost any weight though!!

Take Care

Welcome Quinnie - wish i was your size to start with. Am sure that you will enjoy this program and this site. There is a thread posted at the top of the żour fitness, diet ^health forum that has SS recipies on it. Am certain that you will get som inspiration from there.

Have my weigh in tonight. As i have had my period i am not really sure if i will have any weight loss but this moring i put on a top that i bought ages ago and could not wear because it was to tight, well today i am wearing it and am very chuffed that i am..

Wishing you all a great Op day....

Way to go Sharon, what a sensational feeling.

Quinnie, good luck with the programme.

I received my Ezibuy parcel yesterday, new work outfit complete with shoes, earrings, necklace etc. Took it home and it all fitted per-fect-ly!!! How stoked was I a size 12 woohoo.

Another thing I've noticed. I've got a metal watchband and my watch actually slides around my wrist again. I guess there must be such a thing as overweight wrists as well.

Carla

Hi all

Well today is day eight - I haven't done anything naughty at all, much to my surprise. Totally, 100% OP.

I have my weigh in on Thursday afternoon - wish me luck! I am feeling pretty nervous. I will be happy with any loss.

Hi everyone

Sharon, my last weigh in was end of Feb so just over 5 months. I have managed to keep it off since then which is a miracle. I am a junk food addict and would have it three times a week.

It is a great feeling when clothes start fitting again. I have got to the point that almost everything in the closet is just that little bit too big, but not enough to justify buying new clothes. I have to keep telling myself that I can go shopping when I lose the last 5kg.....

Been pretty good yesterday and today, only added a slice of toast for breakfast this morning. I was really hungry for some reason.

Gotta fly, Toddler is calling. Have a great OP day everyone.

Hi guys,

Meant to ask something when I posted before - I am so tired since I started that I can't believe it!!! Not like hungry dizzy, just exhausted and sleepy and weak as a kitten. Have other people experiebced this, and how long did it last?? I am on day 8. I will ask my consultant when I weigh in on Thursday but I would love just to have some idea. I have a thesis to finish writing so I don't have time to sleep 12 hours a day - which is what I would be doing if I could!!!

Any info appreciated...

Claire
Fiori
Claire- I had the exact same thing happen to me. I was so tired and weak, it was a very strange feeling. I just went and slept. It only last one day for me and I think it happend on day two. I hope you feel better soon.

I am in a bit of a rut at the moment with food. I am sticking to it (except for a couple of Juleigh's choc chip cookies). Next weigh in day I am getting the SureSlim recipe book. Woohoo very excited about that.

Corrine,

You will love the book - I bought it the day I enrolled. Takes a little while to get the hang of changing all the portions to suit your plan though. It is handy for freezing stuff to eat on different days.

Is anyone here on the pesco vegetarian plan?

Hi to everyone

I weigh in this Friday and I'm not looking forward to what the scales will say. I have had a real up and down month. I'll let you know on Friday how I went.

I sat down yesterday to set some goals, because I really only have the end goal that I want to be 70 kilos in my mind. I have to set goals on how to get there. I started with:

1. Write everything down on menu planner.

2. Keep up the water intake.

3. Prepare more variety in meals - I am bored with my cooking and feeling deprived at times because I have not made things interesting enough. The first 6 weeks this was not a problem but it is now.

I'm thinking of compiling an exercise book with favourite meals in there, maybe this will help. You know how in the old days (pre SS) when you shop you have in your head the basic ingredients for favourite dishes the family liked, I have to compile this appealing book with SS favourites. I have to learn to make SS lasagne with mountain bread sheets, and other yummo dishes. I think this could help, it's not easy for us poor Mums who have to cater to the younger ones who can't eat spicy food and my older daughter who doesn't eat meat (she eats mince, thank goodness)etc. I really try to fit in around everyone, so this exercise book idea may help me. I think I'll make a section for meals to prepare when I'm feeling tired or don't want to cook tonight.

4. Set a time to go walking (even just as a spiritual thing to make me feel good). This is hard for me as I sometimes do anything else to get out of going walking but I know once I do it, I feel fabulous.

I have had some fantastic days mentally and then some days where I have self talk that I feel deprived and don't care. (A real psycho case, I know!!)

I do love the program and the way I feel better, I do love the fact I have had slips ups but haven't gained weight.

When I sat down yesterday and went over my SS things, I thought, SS really is easy, I just have to get my butt into gear. With the help of everyone here I am going to, because I don't want to be left behind, still worrying about losing weight when all you other lovely people will be celebrating, I want to be there with you.

Shazza1, your DS is adorable on his snail.

Welcome Julia and congrats on losing 21 kilos.

KK80 you did amazing things this week.

Welcome Quinnie, I'm sure you'll be feeling great soon. Good luck and take care.

Sharon, don't worry about your smaller loss this week, it was still a loss and that's great. Remember how you felt fantastic all day wearing that top, you've done really well.

Carla, you'll be floating on air when you wear that outfit to work, congrats.

Welcome Claire and good luck for Thursday.

Corrine, sounds a bit like me, the cookbook is good, I'm sure that will help you.

Have a great OP week everyone and thanks for listening.

Kind regards

Glenys

I have come through week one of SS now. I found it hard to start with as I was extremely hungry. I was offered carrots and kumara by my consultant but managed to resist! The hunger was not only because of the program but my chronic B12 deficiency - there is no B12 injections to be found for Africa at the moment so my body is chewing through all the energy I am giving it. I really did not think I had lost anything in the first week and was shocked to have lost 4.65kg - mind you in the anticipation of going for first weigh in I forgot to feed the meter and got a parking ticket (ouch!).

Things have not been great this week as I have visitors are we are out and about a lot. I am sticking to the principles of eating breakfast, 5 hours between meals, lots of H20 and trying to choose wise meals and portion sizes, seeds etc. I even managed to resist the hot chips!

I hope everyone keeps up their good work - reading those posts makes me realise that there is light at the end of the tunnel - even if my end is about 50kg away!!
shazburger
I think that this program is easier to stick to than others beacuse i don't really find that i am depriving myslef. I know that i have set myself small goals, rather than saying...żou have 50kgs to lose'as that is such a large task.

My first goal was to loose weight, my second lose 5kgs and my next is to hit that 10kg mark.

Break it down into small achievable goals and we will all be at then end in no time...

Well done everyone

Hi guys can i join your group????

I started ss when my dd was 6weeks old, haha stupid idea as i only lasted like 3 days as dd was sick and i got sick and blah blah every excuse under the sun..

dd is now 19mths old and honestly i feel i have wasted all this time and money!!

I have dug out my plan and what i can eat ect and am going to stat officially tomorrow!!

we have moved so i dont have the support of the people at ss anymore so im tying to get as much support and motivation from on here. which i know ill get cause were all going through the same thing right?? haha

anyways iam currently at 75kg and want to get back to normal 60kg that i was before i had dd. so i have 15kg to loose.

Im very excited and scared about the week ahead as night time when dp is at work and dd is asleep are the bad times when im bored and have nothign else to do except eat.

thanks for listening and i cant wait to start on this great exciting adventure

Can you guys please let me know how the first week was for you and what to expect?

Luv Jess
ddsujee

Hi guys...I was looking for a forum on Sureslim and I found it. I wonder if it is OK with everyone if I join even though I don't have a baby...hee hee

Anyways, this is my 7th week of SS and well, I am doing oK i guess. BUT yesterday I weighed myself and I am 3kgs heavier in a week! As if this is possible..It scares me! I have lost over 7kgs and to go backwards makes me freak out.

The one thing I cannot stand with a passion is the linseed...It makes me cringe iwth disgust. Is there anyway this can taste better????What can I do to make me eat it without scrunching up my mouth??

I would appreciate any advice from you guys.

I wish I was at the desirable weight of 60kgs, but unfortunatly I have another 29kgs to lose.

Its kinda depressing trying to lose this weight since my one and only sister is 5yrs younger and is a gorgeous 50gks.So slender and straight and tall, and I got the fat genes....

In order to get some exercise in (even though I am lead to believe it is not necessary) I have joined the gym.

Any inspiration is so welcomed at this time....

Hi all

My weigh-in later this afternoon so I'll update about that later.

ddsujee and Jess - welcome to you both. Sorry Jess I cant tell you about the first week because I was expecting all the de-tox thingies to happen and nothing did.

I went to see my lingere lady today and I saw some nice bras which I thought I would try on and can you believe it I've lost a cup size - GRRRRR - I was quite happy being a C cup now I'm a B cup sad.gif Why oh why cant it come off my hind quarters rather than my cleavage.

Glenys, you have some really fantastic advice, thanks for posting for us.

Claire good luck for your weigh in today as well.

Talk to you all soon.

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for the well wishes, I've got my first weigh in tomorrow morning so am hoping I've lost a bit. To tell you the truth doesn't feel like I've lost anything and I've been 100% on plan for 8 days now!!! Time will tell hey?

I too felt pretty sh*tty the first couple of days but am starting to feel "normal" again. Can't wait for my energy levels to return so that I can start my long (hour or so) walks each day - all I've managed recently is about 30mins.

Hope everyone is keeping to their plan and I'll drop in tomorrow to let you know how I go.

Back again for a bit of a brag.

Lost another 1.3kgs which takes my total loss to 6.8 over 5 weeks. So it seems that I'm averaging 1.3kgs a week, one week will be larger, the next smaller.

My loss in cms however is far more impressive (if I do say so myself).

Start Today
Chest 106 96
Waist 90 80
Hips 119 111

So thats a total loss of 28cms. As you can tell I'm a little bit happy with the results.

In fact I was so happy with the results I found to ask my CC how much the recipe book is - I know its not cheap.

Hi girls, I just wanted to share my good news.

I have not lost any weight this week, because I pigged out on the weekend because it was my daughters first birthday, we had a huge mudcake and dined out did some wineries etc...

But I got measured - another 10cm of fat just fell off.. that's a total of 53cm of fat gone!!
I am now fitting into size 14 things... just. But that's still good since I started out in size 20 butts and size 18 tops.
I have lost a total of 18 kilos. Yay!!!

Hope this motivates you to keep going. I just want my ass to fall off... is it me, or my stomach is dissapearing my legs and ass look huge still!??
Oh yeah, and I have small titties!! That's a first in my life!! I am a C cup!!! Not bad from DD!!!

I want a skinny bum!!

Hi Ladies,

Sounds like everyone is doing well - cool heh? I had my first weigh in today - and have lost 2.65kgs. Pretty happy with that only another 17 and a bit to go - yippie!!

Possum123 - I bought the Quick Loss receipe book today and it was $49.95. A bit expensive but has heaps of reciepes which will come in handy over the next 3 to 4 mths. Apparently they also have a Lifestyle cookbook that you can buy when you change to your maintenance plan. But I thought I'd get the quick loss anyway.

Hope everyone has a great OP weekend.

LOL Carla, this is the story of my life at the moment. Having a not-so-good SS time, but made myself come in and read through all your successes to inspire me again. I am really struggling with this, and not sure why ... and I have been knocked for six by the news that DH is off to Perth for ten weeks for work :gasp: and I will be a single mum to 3 little girls for that time. Bit scary.

However, I am going to treat it as a positive and not a negative and use that time to really make a difference. I will have to be supremely well-organised, but won't have to worry about what he's eating so will only have to cook for the kids and then for myself later on. It'll sort of be nice, in a way, to do it while he's away so he'll really notice the difference when he comes back IKYWIM. Plus I won't be able to go out and socialise much as he won't be here to mind the girls, so won't have dinners out to tempt me to cheat either. He leaves August 9th but is in Canberra for most of next week, so basically treating it as if he's gone from next week. I had an okay week, but not 100% OP by any means. My weigh in isn't until next Friday though. Had curry and rice tonight, certainly not on the program blush.gif but have my yogurt and seeds etc ready to go in the morning. I've had a few positive comments about the fact that I've lost weight, so must be doing better than I think I am and two of my pairs of sz 14 pants are practically falling off original.gif ... just need to get re-motivated as I have lots of sz 12 summer stuff that I am absolutely determined to get into this summer. I won't be able to do alot of exercise while M's away as I usually walk at night with friends, but I have two of the Walk Away the Pounds DVDs so they'll get a good workout (pardon the pun!) over the next couple of months.

You guys are going great guns though original.gif

Welcome Quinnie, and congrats on your first loss. It's a good feeling, isn't it?

Carla, I'm noticing that my watch is a little looser on my wrist and my rings are that big looser too! Who would've though I had overweight fingers ROFL.

Claire, I was a bit dizzy and tired the first week or so too (and next week will be like a first week again for me so expecting it again).

Glenys, you are my inspiration original.gif I have a little exercise book with bits that I've cut out of the SS newsletters, recipes I like, a few motivational quotes and stories etc. Even when I've been so off-program it's not funny, I've been having my water and seeds and trying to wait 5 hrs between meals (even if my meals weren't OP LOL!). I'm basically cooking completely different meals for myself and the girls as they're only little and their tastes are very bland and very non-SS(ie tuna pasta with butter, cheese etc; carbonara with egg, bacon, cheese). The walking is great for me. I usually walk 2-3 nights a week for an hour with some friends and the SS consultant has given me a slightly different program for those days when I exercise for more than 45 mins (I can increase grammages at the next meal by 1/3, I think). Bit of an incentive there too LOL ... more food! Tounge1.gif You are right, it isn't that hard, and when I'm on it properly I do feel great. Just gotta get that feeling back again ... when I slip up, I slip up big time unfortunately blush.gif

Need to remember to ask my CC about avocado. It's not on my program, but I think I can exchange it for the pepitas some days. Always forget to ask when I'm there.

Sezzy, 4.65 is a fantastic loss! Good on you girl original.gif

Welcome Jess, I think you'll find us a nice bunch if I do say so myself and lots of good ideas are coming out of our threads. Got to find that nachos recipe again!

Hi ddsujee, welcome to join us even without any kids! I couldn't tolerate the linseed meal either and ditched it after the first week in exchange for 2 flaxseed oil capsules a day. Much easier to swallow. I just couldn't do it, I was dry-retching trying to swallow yogurt with that foul stuff in it! I'm just under 70 kgs at the moment and heading for 58-60.

Carla, yay for another 1.3, you're doing really well original.gif The 28 cm loss is just fabulous. You'll be looking a million bucks in no time.

Jess, hang in there. I was really hungry at first too, it lasted about a week or so I'm sorry to say. I'll be there again next week as I'm sort of starting again really. I just drank as much water as I could tolerate (well over the 6-8 glasses) and lots of herbal tea. I'm a complete diet coke addict too, and slipped a couple of those in there too ... naughty naughty LOL

Skipper, you're doing so well too. My goal was lose about 17 kgs all up (about 6 down). Woo hoo for you! I wish my *rs* would fall off too, it always seems to be the biggest bit of me  I want a skinny bum too. And I've always had small boobs, though I swear they're smaller now than they were before I breastfed 3 babies!

Quinnie, big congrats on the 2.65 kgs! I haven't bought the book yet, just plugging along with the recipes on their handouts and my own stir frys etc. Might get it as a reward when I get to my 10 kgs loss.

Sorry for the enormous post anyway. Raring to go again tomorrow ... well, not really LOL, but need to start feeling good about this again.

Carolyn xx

Hi SS'ers

Been a tough week here.. my FIL was killed in a car accident (in Adelaide though he was from Tassie).

Went to my weigh in today and I had lost 2.1kg's... which brings me in about 200gs under 18 kgs in 11 weeks (I am heading into my 12th week today).

Will post more next week...been a long and difficult week.

Hello everyone, my name is Melissa and I am on day 2 of SS. May I join your forum? You all seem to be so encouraging, no wonder you all are doing so well..with that kind of support.

I have a question....my plan doesn't mention anything at all about the seeds. It seems that everyone is on them. But I've read it all and it doesn't mention them at all...is that possible? I have my first weigh in on Thursday, but am a little concerned about it...
Staying OP..but it is very early. I am very desperate to lose the weight (I have 50kgs to lose!! Feels very overwhelming, but I am breaking it up into 5kg amounts, and my Darling Husband is rewarding me every 5kgs...) I need to do this, as my diabetes for the first time is out of control and caused me to have a severe headache for the past 4 months straight. But after only 2 days my Blood Glucose Level has already dropped by about 6-7 points!!!! original.gif
Had a bad day today, not with the plan...my beautiful 17month old son grabbed my husbands cup of coffee and for it all over himself. He has 2nd degree burns over his neck, chest, stomach and upper arm. We spent most of the day at the hospital..have to go back in the morning for a dressing change. They say it's not too bad..he probably won;t even scar!! But my husband and i are so upset...we are the most fanatically safety consious people I know (I am a child care worker), but it was so fast... Sorry, shouldn;t be venting on my first post....just didn't want to do it in front of DH..he is already beating himself uo enough!!
Berniew.. I am so sorry to hear about your FIL...my thoughts are with you at the moment as you cope with this. Take care.
Good luck this week everyone original.gif
