I am so disappointed sad.gif

I started WW last week as my weight is really out of control at over 100 kg and I am not at all pleased with it so decided to do something about it. I went to the first meeting, got all the little books I need etc and all was well. Went home, worked out my points worth of food each day and decided that for my exercise I would take the dog(Border Collie X) and we would go for a walk every day. So off we went.

I was very good I stuck to the plan although I did cheat once and have 2 pieces of fudge blush.gif and was feeling really good about it all.

Until I went to this week's meeting and did my weigh in.

I lost a measly 400 grams.

400 GRAMS !!!!!!! I should have gone to the loo and done a number 2 I might have pushed it up to a kilo !!!

Oh well. Have to try harder this week.

BTW the dog is in denial over his small weight problem. He looked at me like I had dog biscuits for brains the second morning we went for a walk lol

Cheers

400 gms is nothing to sneeze at, that's nearly 1/2 kilo and they say to lose weight and keep it off you should aim for 500 gms per week. I also found that when doing WW I tended to lose a tiny bit or not at all one week, and then lose quite a bit the next.
It is hard not to lose motivation when you aren't happy with your loss for that week but keep at it.
I too am over 100 kgs, (6 ft tall though so not QUITE as bad, or so I keep telling myself LOL) What I find helpful is to set myself a goal of say 5 kgs and then reward myself at that, then set another goal for a further 5 kgs etc.

WW is a real change of lifestyle diet.
The other types of diet may produce results quickly but often in most cases they don't last not to mention the fact that you gain the weight back and then some!
I think most of us have been on that rollercoaster.

At least with WW there's a much bigger chance you'll keep it off. You will also be losing fat, not just fluid and lean muscle.

If you stick to it you will see results and probably lasting ones.

Hi Merillian,

Dont be too down on yourself. 400g is a good loss & they say that it takes a fornight to see results so your good week last week will show next week (bad weeks come to bite you in the butt the next fortnight too!).

My weight loss is VERY slow - I have only lost 5.8kg in 16 weeks however I have lost a lot of cm's. Take measurements now & for the weeks where you lose nothing or just a little, measure yourself again & you'll be very happy. I also read about a woman on WW who took 50 weeks to lose 20kg. She said there were times that she almost gave in but at the end she was happy that she stuck to it & lost the weight. She also has kept it off for 2 years. She is my inspiration.

Come over & join us in the WW thread. Its really good for motivation especially in the dissapointing weeks.

Best of luck,
Michelle

Hi Merillian

I know exactly how you feel. Last week I was the same - stuck to my points, did some excersise and then actually looked forward to my weigh-in only to find I'd only lost 1/2 kilo...!! sad.gif

And yes, it's disheartening.

But the thing is, you lost weight. If you "only" lost that much for the next four weeks, you'd still be nearly 2kgs lighter!!

When I have weeks like this, I tell myself that I may be heading *slowly* in the right direction, but I **am** still headed that way and as long as I keep heading that way, however slow it may be some weeks, eventually I will be where I want to be!

If you get disheartened and give up you will never get there.

So keep at it! You are doing the right thing!!!
