Hi,

I had my D&C done 2 weeks ago today. With my first D&C in December I bled for 11 days and it stopped. This time I only bled heavily for abot 2 days and then it stopped...so i thought. But 2 weeks later I am still getting blood. When I excercise it get heavier and gushes bright red and normally it is smaller amounts of brown blood. Sorry for the TMI. They say that it should finish up 2 weeks after D&C but mine doesnt seem to be getting lighter. I have also been getting cramps still...not constantly but pretty much at some point every day. It feel like my uterus is swollen. If I need to pass wind, go to the toilet or any pressure is put on my waste by my pants I get awful cramps and pains. It is just my uterus...its hard to describe...it feels like it is hurting on the inside and not the outside. I didnt get anything like this the last time so I am not sure if i need to worry. I have a dr appointment on Monday that was meant to be my follow up from my 12 week scan but i forgot to cancel it...do you think it is worth keeping it and getting it all checked out or is it all considered normal??

Thanks for your help

Yes, definitely get yourself checked out. Especially considering your recovery this time is so different from last time. Hopefully the doctor will say that it's all OK and it'll just take a bit longer to recover. But perhaps there's a post-op infection or similar that might need extra treatment to help you to recover.

I'm sorry you're having a long recovery this time. I hope you're back to 100% really soon.

Hi sorry you are going through this. Please do get it checked out, better not to ignore these things that don't quite feel right.

I had similar bleeding and cramping after a D&S and it turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy that had been missed. Certainly not saying this is the case with you, but I probably should have been for a checkup before I did, as it got quite bad and I did have a feeling all was not right.

All the best.

I had this. It was a weird sensation. For me though only lasted 3 days or so.

I'm sorry for your loss. I would keep the appointment and go and find out. My GP told me that it can take up to 6 weeks to heal from any procedure. I got a bit concerned when reading your post when you said you had been exercising. I hope it isn't too vigorous. For the first week afterwards if I pushed it too much by just cleaning the house or doing anything really my spotting would increase. When that happened I would make myself lay down for a while.

Take care of yourself, take it easy as much as possible and definately go and see a doctor.

DKD firstly sorry for your loss. Its a really tough time.

I had a D&C 12 days ago and am still spotting and a little heavier at times and have not been exercising. It has mainly been a brownish colour of late except for today when it was red again. I too am getting cramping maybe once a day.
Did you go to the Dr? If so what did he say about it? Im wondering too if this is normal after so long.

Hope you are coping ok otherwise and it is all ok.

sammyg- i didnt end up going to the dr as the bleeding and cramping settled down over the weekend so i didnt think it was worth it. I didnt cancel the appointment till the morning of tho so i was just about going to go. The bleeding has stopped for me now (18 days after D&C) but i have noticed my CM is still a funny colour so it is probably still finishing up.

I agree with what the others posted to me tho...if you dont feel right then go get it checked up. Its not worth risking a complication for the sake of a doctors appointment.

HTH
