Happy Belated Birthday Louise!!
Glad you had a lovely day!
xx
hi All
Louise - glad you had a lovely day.
Some of those kinder fees astound me. A lot of people in Vic don't do three year old kinder coz it is quite expensive and it isn't subsidized like childcare is - but heck, it pales in comparison to some fees.
Well I'm off to look at another house "in need of a little TLC" this arvo - wish me luck

Morning, happy sunday.
Louise did you get anything for your birthday?
As per Shaz's request, a couple of pics of the front.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3375/357905...fd8b245.jpg?v=0http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3412/357905...b15321f.jpg?v=0We're getting out there today. All those terracotta pots are going to my MIL today. Removing the lilac on the right, also giving that to the MIL (coz the poor thing never blooms here, time to send it to a happier place). All the mondo grass under the standard ficus there are still in pots, got those yesterday going to plant today. Need to put down some weed matting and get some fresh soil. It's a work in progress, there's a tonne more garden beds to be sorted out but it's a start. Think I'll get another pot for the front porch, those black ones also come in a long low one, and I think that's exactly what's needed under that little window on the porch.
So Michelle, what happened to your work mate?

hi girls
louise - glad you had a lovely day!
Thanks everyone for the feedback on the biggest mornign coffee, glad you know where i was coming from, you jsut never knwo with people nowdays. Anyway all set for this thursday have ordganised some ballons and am making cupcakes with daffodil on them and some cookies and they are also having milo lol!
Chelle - did i miss that abotu your work friend?? sorry to hear it.
Hi V and Sherryn.
Amanda - how did the hosue go?
Pam -I like it, looks very good. Dresses up the place ..yeah? Mondo grows relay well, extramley hard to kill, will thicken up nicely and then you can take it apart and replant som more lse where..we have a bit in our garden...never die din the 8 years we have had it.
I went to a firends house last night and biy do i want a house like hers, is wasnt overly big, in fact probably not bigger then ours but the layout wroke dwell,a dn the kitchen was the main focus of the house, it was attached pretty much to most rooms..i relaly like dit, high ceiligns too make a huge difference in a house. we always said or next house woudl have the 12 foot ceilings( i think it is).
Better choof off, rick ha dot go to work today, he cooked a gret ameal last night, was cold and raininy here, so nice to snuggle up, anyway clenaing today and getting etana off to swim lessons. i had had two more requests for cakes also...so a bit busy!
seeya.
Yeah, house was OK - I mean it was totally unrenovatable - it was old & falling apart - but it had a really positive vibe about it. I'd like to show it to Ty.
Yeah, I'd love a house with a massive kitchen and have that as the focal point of the house, where everyone gathers together.
Crap - how do you fit it all in Sharon?
Have fun in the garden Pam
Chelle - hope you aren't nursing too bad of a hangover.
Ty gets home today - he's been interstate on his annual boys weekend. Then he's in Sydney next weekend, then I'm in Sydney the weekend after -but I'm going to Bright on Thur gonna have a looooong weekend there - which will make him jealous - LOL.
Cheers

dh has a rib eye fillet in the oven, hmmm it smells so good that and mash potato.
amanda - i forgot is this house for you to live in or an investment. You guys sound busy too. Uhm i dont know I do truley wish there were more hours in the day though...but I suspect i would just find more things to fill it hehe. yes a big kitchen, lots of bench space, something I need. Got to run Miss L needs putting to bed.
night
Bit of both Shaz. I want a house "just in case" we suddenly outgrow this place and so have the option to move into a house - Ty would prefer to exercise that option sooner rather than later.
Well Ty's taken L to kinder & I've been reading with the boys. Nothing needs doing urgently - not sure what to do with myself!

Check this out...
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3649/358300...4f4e76f.jpg?v=0Jed spotted him in the hallway this morning. He hasn't moved from that spot, which is fascinating to me, as we've had mice for years but I've never ever seen one. You only hear them, or spot their droppings, or at most you see a grey streak as it gets the hell out of dodge when it hears you coming. It's just a baby too, it's quite small. Also weird is that every time we see a mouse, we throw those wax blocks up in the ceiling, and they go for a good 6 months at least. But we only did the wax block thing a couple months ago, if that. So I'm wondering if this one has had a nibble, then came out of the roof into the house, instead of disappearing to look for water which is what usually happens, and now it's too sick to get out. I even opened the door for it but he hasn't budged all day.
Ok I'm supposed to be paying bills then I got grocery shopping to do before school so I better go.

Ahhh, that mouse is so cute! I like mice
Had a rough night with Charlie last night. I mean, we never seem to have an easy night with him but last night was worse. He woke every hour from 9.30pm to 4am, apart from 3am. It seemed to be about every 40 mins or so that I had to go in to him....and then he was up for the day at 4am!!
I kept trying to get him to go back to sleep but as soon as I would get it to bed, he would start calling out to me again. I'm so, so tired. I put him to bed again around 12.30pm this afternoon but he won't sleep. You'd think he'd be as exhausted as I am after next to no sleep...but he's refusing to settle down. I'm just going to leave him in the cot anyway. Little so and so....
So, I have a little vent about my MIL...does anyone not??
I work every Friday from 2pm to 9.30pm and my parents always look after the boys for me. My parents are going to the UK on Wednesday for 3 weeks, so I have no one to look after the boys whilst I go to work. I asked my DH if he'd mind asking his Mum to come up for 3 Fridays, seeing as though she never looks after the kids (only her daughters kids, every Wed & Fri). I thought maybe just for 3 weeks, my SIL could get someone else to mind her kids on a Friday....but no. MIL is willing to look after the boys, if I drive them down to her place, as she has SIL's 3 kids to look after. The thing is, it's an hour trip each way, so 2 hours driving, just to drop them off. The boys have swimming lessons on a Friday morning and then MIL wants me to head straight to her place to drop the boys off and then come straight home to work, which I'm not willing to do. She rang me on Saturday to see if I would drop the kids off and I said no, it's too much driving just to drop them off. She then said that she would be doing just as much driving if she was to mind them at my place (all said in quite a nasty tone). I told her the difference is, she would be spending the day with her grandson's, not driving all the way here and then straight back home.
Then she rang DH yesterday whilst I was at work to nag him about why I won't do it. He doesn't want to get involved, so told her to talk to me about it.
Am I being difficult? Or do I have a point? MIL does everything for SIL (DH's sister) but never offers to look after our boys. I don't like being difficult but I really don't want to drive all that way just to drop my boys off...oh and then DH would have to go and pick them up after he finishes work, which I'm sure he wouldn't feel like doing on a Friday night.
I've got a pounding headache...talking about my MIL certainly doesn't help lol
Better go take some drugs.
Winnie The Pooh
01/06/2009, 02:16 PM

claire, what on earth is your MIL's problem?? Hang on, I know you've got a headache and I really don't want to make it worse

. You are in no way being unreasonable, it's one thing to drive an hour, spend the day with the children and then drive another hour home, but to do 2 hours straight driving!

. Me thinks MIL has her favourite and it doesn't look like it's DH. I'm not saying that to be rude/mean, but it just sounds that she's being a stick in the mud and not willing to budge. Vent away.
Pam, that mouse is sooooooooo cute. But I'm sure you would like to see it evicted from your house

.
Amanda, LOL about not knowing what to do with yourself. It's always the way when you have some "you" time.
Sharon - yummo, dinner sounded lovely, how did it taste? How does Miss E go at her swimming lessons. Speaking of which, Hayden had THE BEST EVER lesson last week. I was so proud of him, as was his teacher and even the swim supervisor lady. Oops, sorry to go off, but it was such a proud mummy moment that my boy did so well.
Chelle, sounds like you had a great time here in Sydney over the weekend. Not long now until we all meet up

Louise, sounds like you had a great day for your b'day. Pls share with us what you got up to and the pressies you received.
Lainey, hope you are feeling OK hun. How did your meeting with the uni go about your thesis?

Sherryn, Bi, Nikki, Sarah
OK, that's about it from me. We had a busy weekend and now it's back to the grind stone.
Take care everyone
Sorry Claire - you are being totally unreasonable. Your MIL has a current arrangement with her grandkids and you're not only asking her to break that, but to come to your house to do it.
If you want free babysitting, you do it at the babysitter's convenience.
On Friday night I paid for a babysitter who earned more money than me, but tough, that's what happens when your usual arrangement (ie Ty) isn't available.
I was talking with my friend Donna on Sat & she was amazed that my mum NEVER comes to my house & looks after the kids here - but I said "At least I have a mother, and one who can occassionally look after them, so I don't b**ch about it" Yes, I'd love it if someone came here to look after them for free - but sometimes you've just gotta take what you're given and make the most of it.
Anyway, I know you just wanted to have a little vent, and fair enough, coz it is frustrating, I know.
Pam - that mouse is so round! LOL - it looks fake.
V- Hooray for Hayden at swimming - finally!!!
How embarassing - just had a customer phone - I lost the handset a week ago so I've had to shout at everyone on speakerphone for a week. She phoned to say I'd sent too many nappies and how can she send them back - hooray for good karma for me - but the kids went ballistic and started blowing whistles and stuff into the speakerphone while I was trying to talk. Arrghhhh - had to bundle them up into the lounge & lock 'em in!

Hi all!
Oooh Pam, was it your photography skills that made that mouse look cute!?!?! Don't think I've ever described a moust as cute! I hear you Victorians are having a bit of a plague atm....my poor mum is terrified of mice and her house is pretty well infected!
V - yay to good swimming lessons!
Claire - vent away....hmm, sorry but I can kind of see her side of it....can see why you're upset but if she already has this agreement with her daughter then that makes it tough to change - imagine if it was a long standing agreement with you and then she said she wanted to change it - that would leave you in the lurch.....can see that you want her to spend more time with your guys too though.
I had THE hugest hangover yesterday - we had our trivia night on Saturday, and the trivia bit was boring but we had the funniest night! I got into bed and just pi$$ed myself laughing for 10 mins or so!!!
Alrighty, got to get some exercise in before dinner time!! Oh I should have a yay or nay if I can come on the Syd trip tomorrow or Wed.......fingers crossed but I've pretty much resigned myself that it will be a no

Paul's work is just all over the shop right now !

Hmm, I think I may need to re-phrase my vent a little. I'm not expecting my MIL to come up to my place. I know she has plans already and I don't expect her to change them. BUT, she is expecting me to drive to her to drop the kids off, which I'm not going to do, all because she would like to see them. I have other people I can ask who live close to me, which I can repay the favour to. My DH is also willing to come home early, as a last resort. I thought I'd ask my MIL 1st, as she never gets to see the boys, or makes the effort to come and visit.
Also, I would NEVER pay a babysitter to mind the kids, who would be paid more than I earn. What's the point? I'd just take the night off work instead, at least I'm not losing money. I also don't see my parents looking after the boys as 'free babysitting'. It's quality time that they get to spend with their grandchildren and they LOVE doing it.
Sherryn, are you coming up to Sydney this week? Maybe? If so, whereabouts?

V - just so you know, I think it's time to change your christmas sig!! So I'm going to make you a new one. I already have the photo.
Mouse is real. It sat in the same spot for 6 hours or something! Then it moved to my room. Then when we came home from school, Eve picked it up and put it outside. By then I had become a bit fond of it LOL. I started the morning thinking can't wait for G to get home and get that filthy, disease ridden thing outta my house. Ended the day gently placing "chocolate" (yes, we named her by then) on the front lawn, and hoping she didn't run out onto the road and get squished by a car tyre.

Hello!
I am so sore. We've been getting the house ready to go on the market this weekend. We did the native gardens yesterday. I am very proud of the job we did! We also polished up the tiles (those polished porcelain tiles look bloody fabulous) and vacuumed up all the dust and carpet threads everywhere. The house is so beautiful, with a huge central kitchen exactly as you described. I wish we were moving in ourselves. All I've got to show for our hard work is a pelvis (symphisis pubis) that's slipped out of alignment. I can't walk without pain.
Pam, please oh please tell me where you got the tall pots from. I need 2 urgently for the new house, and the cheapest I could find were $70 a piece.
Girls, do you reckon I'm being stalked? A link to my feature member article went into the school gazette last week. Then this mystery guy joined eb especially to respond (see post #9):
http://members.essentialbaby.com.au/index....6entry9659326I love a healthy debate as you know, but found this guy rather accusatory and impolite, especially considering he doesn't seem to have actually read the article

Claire, I would say to MIL that it's not about you or her being in the car, it's about the boys spending hours in the car, and won't she come and watch them at your place so they don;t have to endure being in the traffic for 2 hours.
Louise, glad your bday was so wonderful! Especially yay for your BFF.
Sherryn, will be amazing if you can join us in Syd. Claire, Sharon, when are you joining us? So excited to see everyone!
I should go to bed, got heaps more work to do tomorrow at the house. xox

He sounds like a tosser Lainey - my first thought was "is it E?" but then he mentioned Christianity, which made no sense to me at all. I loved your article by the way!
Are you selling the new house you just built? Was that the plan all along? (I have a memory like a goldfish, honestly).
Better go do the Mum thing!

Oh what a w*n*er Lainey. He
was accusatory and impolite - he was looking for a fight, not a debate. I think there are trolls who go around message boards looking for stuff they can get on their soap box about. Obviously people who have no life, or have run out of people IRL who are willing to listen to them

I love your reply, very dignified and informed...you put him in his place.
QUOTE

don't all we mum's have that?
I'll be housebound again today, Jed was coughing all night, so I'm keeping him home just to be sure. He feels warm too. He has swimming this morning so best to avoid that if he has a chest thing. So I should get that sig done Vanessa if you email me the pic this morning.
Claire why don't you just put Charlie in bed with you? Maybe he'll sleep thru. I know what you're thinking - oh then I'll never get him out (coz every man and their dog warned me about that when Jed used to sleep with us). But really...what's the difference if you have a hard time getting him out in say a week or a month or 6 months? You're having a hard time now...you couldn't possibly get any LESS sleep! Having said that, we didn't have trouble getting Jed out of our bed. Once he went into his own bed, it was just a natural progression and he was happy with it. I think he knew we weren't pushing him out (well, maybe a gentle nudging LOL).
Speaking of lack of sleep, last night I took till 2am to fall asleep. Note to self - switch to decaf lattes. Yesterday I had 3, so it's my own fault. Then I woke at 5am to hear Jed was up in the lounge and watching tellie!!

He's never done that before. He generally sleeps to 7, and when he does wake he makes sure someone else gets up with him, and he never goes and turns the tv on. Also I'm not actually sure it was 5am he got up...that's just when I heard him. I got the feeling he'd been up for a while.
On the up side, he's had little sleep too, and being a bit unwell, I guarantee he'll have a sleep today.
I better go, look at the time!
xoxo

Ok well he's at Old Geelong Rd, Hoppers. Get on a plane, catch a taxi south west, take the first hoppers turn off, and he's on the right next door to Pet Warehouse. You'll save $15. Oh...except for the small matter of the airfare to get there.

"rofl" thanks Pam - I'll pop by for lunch on my way!
Hope Jed is ok.
Louise...E freaks out at any display of Christianity. He grew up in an ultra-orthodox community which was so bigoted that, as a child when he went to visit his mother's non-Jewish family in Germany, he refused to touch his grandma or aunts because they weren't Jewish. It seems that has yet to appreciate that our children are living in a multi-cultural society and it is imperative for them to be able to communicate with and learn from the people around them. He thinks that somehow contact with Christianity will contaminate the kids and he is paranoid about assimilation (mind you, he doesn't have the same issues with Buddhism/Hinduism etc as his dad is big into eastern philosophies). So yeah, a vent about Christianity could easily be his.

Charlie only woke once last night, at 12.50am.
Must have been the Dimetapp and Nurofen I gave him before bed
Although I did have to be up at 5.30am for Pilates, so I'm still so tired and still have a pounding headache
Pam, Charlie does sleep much better in our bed but both DH and I don't! He's such a restless sleeper and is always on the move in his sleep. He rolls over and hits us in the face, he digs his toe nails into DH's back and the list goes on. I think next time he has a bad night, I'll bring him in with us. I don't have a problem with weaning out of our bed, we've done it before no problem.
Vanessa, great news about Hayden's swimming. Are you still at Terrey Hills? Which teacher does he have? Ollie is doing really well now. So much more confident. The past couple of weeks they have had him doing butterfly, which is fun to watch but at least he's giving it a go! Last week, they were being taught to dive into the pool and keep swimming.
I love watching but it's hard when I'm in the pool with Charlie at the same time.
Louise, I love the sound of pedicures and long lunch! That really appeals
Lainey, is it SPD that you have? I had that too...with both pregnancies. Had sciatica too and had to wear a lovely tight belt around my hips to keep my pelvis in place. It is so painful to walk around.
Also, I'll be spending Saturday with you all when you come to Sydney. I work Friday nights and Sunday mornings. I guess I could do the Thursday night too, if you're up for it!
Sounds like Charlie isn't going to have a sleep today....again! He's had one day sleep since last Monday

Lainey - oh no - I had SPD with Cass too - can still remember that pain! Wow, that's really sad about E's views on Christianity. I'm not a big religious person myself, but someone's religion wouldn't stop me from befriending them!

claire - wow at charlie and the sleep, maybe he wants to drop teh day one, I know a little early but some do. Lucia is so th opposite, sometimes i sometimes think all she does is sleep lol, I panic if shes ahd a big nap whether she will sleep through but she does, i cant remember the lat time she got up at night but in saying that she did get up much moer often then etana as a baby and todddler.

better get thsi banana bread out.

Hi All
Crap - Look how much you've all been talking! I went to show ty the house last night. He hated it. Then we went to Donnas & ended up having a few drinks and coming home with tired grumpy children.
Oh, while we are out the front having a bit of a chat with the RE Agent, we hear "ssssssss" and look around and there is Henry peeing on the tree. Well we all pretend we can't see it and then "woossshhh" it sounds like the mains water has exploded. Look around and there is Lydia squatting down p*ssing on the grass. So we have to face the other way and pretend we can't see her either! OMG so embarassing.
Lainey - Haven't read the thing but I can understand that some Jews would be against Steiner - so it wouldn't surprise me that someone from your school joined up to have a go at you for sending your kids to a Waldorf school.
And Eli, well he's just a freak. Full stop.
He's getting a bit too big to blame his upbringing for his freakiness - he's been grown up for a little while now and it's getting very tiring. My SIL did it for way too long, but now nobody excuses her dire childhood for poor behaviour - and to her credit, she has changed a lot since we first met her. I think she realised she could change into a better person if she wanted.
Ouch, yeah that is early to be getting SPD. I had it bad with Henry, not so bad with Bram. Went to a Bowen therapist who did wonders. Also did 100 pelvic tilts every morning before I got out of bed.
Better go I want to get some more work done.

God Lainey just when the MS is starting to ease a little, you get this. I hope Amanda's advice gives you some relief.
OMG Amanda how embarrasing! Did the RE guy notice?

I don't think that guy who replied to Lainey is from WA. I went into his thingy and his local time was same as here. So he's from the eastern states.
I have to agree - there comes a time when you just have to take responsibility for your behavior, regardless of the reasons behind it.

Hi Ladies!
Feel like I'm waaay out of the loop at the moment. Keep popping on to read and then get interupted or something happens. Life feels so ....I don't know...busy I guess, time just keeps flying by. It's only going to get worse when I start back at work

So I've been reading...but I've forgotten most of it

Just wanted to say "hi"

and let you all know I'm thinking about you - really looking forward to Sydney w/e.
Bi/xx
Yeah, of course he noticed - he just had to pretend he didn't.
Hi Bi - Yeah, can't wait to catch up again!
I'm off to bed. Have done as much work as my brain can handle - been updating product descriptions & streamlining the website.
Cheers

So you saw and pretended you didn't. The RE guy saw and pretended he didn't. You and Ty pretended not to notice that the RE guy had noticed. You pretended not to know that he knew that you knew...and he pretended not to know that you knew that he knew....

This is hysterical...I've got this image in my head of the three of you with your back to two children peeing on a nature strip andin your heads you're all thinking "oh god! I hope he/she/they can't see this pink elephant in the room!!!"
Bi, how are you feeling yourself? That black dog not coming back to bite you is it?

Oops, I have 3 mins to finish hair, put on shoes, clean jed's teeth, push Eve along, etc etc. Make that 2.5 mins now.
Oh speaking of elephants, there's a teeny cute dead mouse on our front lawn.

Charlie slept all night last night! Yay! From 8.30pm to 6.30am
He's already dropped his day sleep. He's been skipping day sleeps a few times a week for a while now but it's become apparent that he really doesn't want to sleep during the day anymore, so I won't push it. Unless it looks like his eyes are falling out of his head lol
I'm leaving in a few mins to pick Ollie up from pre-school and then we're off to the airport to say goodbye to my parents, who are off to the UK for a month. The boys love going to the airport (and so do I), so it should be fun.
Sharon, yes, we always have too much food in our pantry....and yes, I keep buying more!
Amanda, your kids are hilarious!!! I'm sure you don't think so at times but you have the funniest stories!
Hi Bi
Hi Chelle
Oh Pam, is that your dead mouse? That cute one in the photo???
Poor little thing
Ok, gotta go pick Ollie up...bye!
WooHoo - I've done so much work this morning. EB are giving me a massive discount to run another comp so I've been working on that - even did my own graphics. Not as ace as Pam can do - but good enough for this campaign.
Pam/Claire - yeah, it's funny, I suppose. Lydia had screamed for 15 min as we were walking around the house - just coz she's Lydia & that's what she does - so it didn't seem too funny after that. But it will be when I look back at it.
Food - OMG I love buying food. We have a reasonable sized pantry, but it's not enough for us! We have taken over the linen press as well & made shelves there - we call it the nuclear cupboard, coz it has enough food to sustain us in the event of a nuclear explosion. We also have tins of tomatoes & baked beans in the laundry and all the bread making supplies under the kitchen sink. We very rarely eat out and we don't get take away much at all, so I supposed we eat more groceries than most families that have take out once or twice a week. Still, there's only so many tins of pineapple & beetroot you need in winter, eh? I just think it's probably more than 5! hahahaha.
Ciao

Just because I'm a curious cat, I thought "wonder if there's a recipe for both beets and pineapple together...as if!". So I googled...and there is! Except I can't work out what it's mean to be...a dessert? A sauce? A dessert sauce? Something you serve with cream? No idea. So there you, a use for your 5 tins of beets and pineapple.

I don't think I hoard alot of food. 95% of it would get used. I'm a pretty organised shopper tho...once a fortnight I write down about a dozen meals, and shop for those, plus whatever else we need. I couldn't do it any other way. I know when my mum goes grocery shopping she just chucks stuff in, wings it. I don't know how that would work unless you were only planning a meal or two in advance at a time.
Yeah Claire, the mouse we set free. Obviously wasn't ready for the wild of our front yard

Got a pounding headache I've had all day. Can't wait for bed o'clock.
Going now. Hairdresser coming any minute.

Sarah / Lainey , what time do you guys fly in on the Thursday. I am getting Pam and Amanda at the airport at 130am. But it is 30-40 mins then to the city. So just wondering if you need lift or can get the shuttle buses ?
Or if you are around similar time as the, i can maybe get you all at once ... Anyway let us know.
PS Anyone know how to instal a PS3 if I bring mine for us to singstar on ?

Chelle, we arrive at 4.30pm. Did you get my money for the hotel? yay for the singstar idea!
Amanda, good luck with the promo, good on ya! No time for 100 pelvic tilts when I'm rushing to get 3 kids fed and sorted for school and out the door in 45 mins. But I am going to see the physio at the hospital who I saw last time with the SPD (now it's called PGP). My SPD never really resolved inspite of all that yoga, because it was aggravated by the pelvic trauma I sustained in the car accident before Jesse's birth. After major lifting etc (eg moving house) my pelvis just slopis out of alignment, so it's no surprise that it happened now with all the relaxin hormone in my system. If the physio fails I'll try your bowen suggestion and also acupuncture. PMSL at your kids weeing at the show house

Claire, yay for you getting some sleep! That is great!!
Sherryn and Louise, M has decided to join me after my conference in Brisbane so we can go on to somewhere nice for a few days. Do you recommend Cairns, Noosa, or elsewhere? I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars getting there from Brisbane. I'd appreciate your advice!
Pam, beet and pineapple could only go together in a salad, surely! OMG you are organised, I decide what to cook between an hour and 5 mins before dinner time. Are you bringing your camera to Sydney? If you're up for it, I'd love a bellyshot as I've never had one done before.

Yeah you'd think wouldn't you...except it has all this sugar in it, and you're boiling it down and whatever, making it syrupy. It's a weird one. But then it is a southern American dish, and you know the yanks, everything's sweet as can be. They love cherry medicine for god sake...who else in the free world thinks fake cherry flavour in anything is a
good thing?

Abso-posi-lutely!!!!

Jed's been waking really early lately. So we've started telling him, don't get up if it's still night. So then he'll wake at 5am and start calling from his bedroom "IS IT STILL NIGHT?!! DAAA-AAD! IS IT STILL NIGHT?". So then we told him don't get up till you hear dad turn on the kettle. So now he wakes early and yells from his bedroom "DAAA-AAAD!!! GO MAKE YOU-SELF YOUR COFFEE!!". I don't know why this has started. Aren't they supposed to start waking later and later as they get older? Not earlier! I think Jed missed that memo.
Getting excited for our trip now.

Chelle, I'm pretty sure you meant 1.30pm didn't you! Should only take you 10 mins to get to the city too. On a good run I can make it from here to airport in 40 mins. Mums eh, mine still uses the line of "i had 3 under 4 with no help" and it's wearing very thin tbh.
Claire - yay to Charlie for sleeping all night. Hope your parents got off safely and that the boys enjoyed their trip to the airport.
Amanda - pineapple and beetroot yummo. Glad to hear you've had some productive work days. Hillarious story about the children peeing

.
Pam - I need to be more organised for my shopping trips, I'm hopeless and tend to just chuck stuff in too, then I get home with all the food and wonder what I'm going to cook

. LOL at Jed telling G to get up and get a a coffee

.
Lainey - hope you're not in too much pain. I had 2 relatively breezy pregnancies, didn't have m/s with H, just with E.

, I feel sooooo bad. I was clearing some stuff out of a room and knew that Miss E was behind me, but had no idea that she had her fingers IN the door and yep, you guessed it. I closed the door on her fingers. OUCHHHHHHHHHH. OMG I was soooooooooooooo upset. Nothing seems to be broken which is good news and hopefully her fingers will heal well. Must have crunched all four in there and then thumb took the brunt of it.

. She's sleeping soundly now and I'm going to go and get a coffee.
Hope everyone is well.
Take care
Grrr to sticky nosed mothers. We'll eat baked beans. That won't cost much.
Lainey - Have you seen the belly ones Pam did of me? They are ace!
Oh V - yeah, that's just the worst feeling - and you can see the dents in their fingers. I remember the first time I did it to Lydia I was shutting the fly wire door at the back so she wouldn't come out. I thought she was screaming coz she wanted to come out. I was pushing even harder, coz I knew she was gonng try & push the door open. Oh, it was sickening.

Pam and Amanda come 130 , Lainey and Sarah 430 so I was talking to them... As for 10mins to city from airport , do u fly . Ive never done it in 10mins with the city traffic especially going right into george st etc etc. Especially getting in and out around the 430 time. 130 yes that wont be hard.
Poor E's finger , I am sure she is ok , terrible for us mums when stuff like that happens , that happened to me and one got chopped off , its such an ugly top of the finger now from where they stitched it on. Think i was about 2.
Mum is old fashioned amanda re going away etc, thinks we should all stay home lol.
As for cameras ill have my 2 , lol , and with pams we will have great photos , and ill make us all a dvd slide show of pics afterwards

AMHmm...6 women in one apartment eating baked beans all weekend? Could we make that jam on toast instead?

OMG I was looking at those shots this morning and thinking how terrible they were!! Poor you being pregnant when I was just beginning. There was one pose that looked like you were doing a breast exam

And don't even start me on the crappy processing.

OMG I HATE it when older women say things like that! My mother says things along those lines, and I just say "yeah, and there was this enormous population of women going thru post natal depression secretly". WTF should we choose to do it a harder way if we don't need to, just because our fore-mothers did? By that logic, we shouldn't immunise against polio, because previous generations had to risk it and just lump it if they got it. Oh and while we're at it, what about those fancy schmancy modern airplanes? We should all just get on a boat, take a month to get to the UK, get skirvy and don't bloody complain about it either!! I don't understand why a mother would have the attitude that if she suffered, so should her daughter. Not picking on your mum specifically V, just some mum's in general. Because they might not realise it when they say it, but that IS what they're saying.

Too funny Chelle

.
I guess cause I know where I'm going I could do it in 10, but then again I'm sure it will take longer at that time of day, plus I'm a bit of a lead foot, which would explain the speeding fine I recently paid

. 71 in a 60 zone. I knew I was going to get pinged, but thought I was going faster

.
I so wish I was coming on the Thur as well, but I'll just have to wait until Friday to meet you gals I haven't met. Chelle I can get the bus in, so no need to come out this way.
Pam, no offence taken, it's just that I've heard it so many times I tune out to it now

.
Sherryn - any luck with being able to wing it down here for the girly weekend?
Oh yeah, go the baked beans, that'll be a toot (oops, I mean hoot) woot woot

. Does anyone have celebrity head or any other funny games to bring. the only one I've got is purely adult and I don't think its appropriate with 6 women
