Dammit I always miss getting in 1st!!
Sorry no personals at the mo - just popping in with an update on Today's OB appt.
All is well, twins are fine, one is breech and one is cephalic (is that the right word/spelling) but of course that will probably change a million times before they are born. The Dr couldnt determine sexes yet

he said the 19 week scan people have a much more awesome machine and they should be able to. I dont mind - its more DH that wants to know impatiently. Heartbeats are both around 140, which is apparently fine. And my BP is perfect! HOORAY!! I think one of the Placentas is anterior but not sure about the other - he didnt say. But that probably explains why I can feel one more than the other. They look like little people now, its awesome. Although I stupidly forgot to ask for printouts of them, but never mind, only 2 weeks to the 19week scan.
Anyway, enough of the me me me post, sorry about that, hope everyone is well!

Don't worry about me posts Trudy, I for one love hearing how the twinnies are going!
Glad to hear things are going well MissM. When is your 18 weeks scan? Must be coming up pretty soon!
No updates here, just procrastinating again

Oh, very exciting news! I did some shopping for my hospital bag today, oh I know

but it was exciting for me LOL! I also bought a pair of Bonds navy blue footless tights, I figure they could be used for a girl or a boy, I am actually tempted to find out the gender now, it would make things so much easier in the buying department, especially as I have next to no NB clothes anymore, but at the same time, I really like NOT knowing.
Oh decisions, decisions!
What else? Nothing really happening, it's all very boring & ho hum here ATM.
I hope everyone is feeling ok, might BBL, depending on if I crash & burn once the kids go to bed, which seems to be happening a lot lately, early nights seem to be the way to go & it's lovely mind you. It particularly good when I wake to go to the toilet, I've been asleep for three hours & it's still only 11.30pm (I normally go to bed about midnight)!
Ahh it's the small things that make us happy PMSL!
Byyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Another me me me post I'm afraid.
Yippee we have finally found a car and as long as nothing else goes wrong we should be picking it up 2weeks on monday. Bit peeved though as DH has to work on Monday so have had to move our scan to Thursday so a few more days to wait to find out and see bubs again.
Is anyone else a worrier this pregnancy? I was fine with the first 2, but this time I'm forever thinking something is wrong, even to the point I'm worrying something maybe wrong at the scan. Really need to snap out of it, at the mo I'm worried cos I ain't felt anything for awhile, lots of cramps and pains but no movement. I really hope this next scan is going to put my mind at rest.
Hope everyone else is fine.

ohhh yes! it's my 1st and i'm always thinking what was thatt, should i do this or not and the list goes on

i know i am eating healthy and getting a bit of exercise and i'm past the 1st trimester now so i should be ok.
MummyPig you can shop when ever you like!! dont worry about it

Today i went to target for their sale and got myself 2 cot sheet sets, 3 pack of polar fleece blankies and a 4 pack of muslins for $50 and i was quite chuffed they were all 30% off! Had a quick browse at the clothes and have decided that i will buy only a few things as we aren't finding out the sex (even though i WANT TO!!) and buy some boy/girl things later

or send my mum out when baby is born to buy blue or pinks
Kitty-N oh not long now til your 19 week scan, so i assume you are finding out the sex of the twinnies?

I am about BF, only because I had problems with DD3. I think I just got so uptight about everything back then and she was born a couple of days before Xmas and I couldn't relax.
I just felt like everyone was in my face. WARNING - first time mums advice coming

- take it easy after the birth, don't push yourselves too much and put you and the baby first, especially if you are trying to establish BF.
I went to Target yesterday and got some unisex suits and one blue stripey navy bonds suit because it was so cute and 30% off, I figured a girl can wear navy, I'll just stick a pink hat on.

hey everyone,
I had a scary night last night my bestie went into hospital at 33.5weeks with contractions every 10/11 mins....this is bubs DS3 so she knows what she is doing when it comes to labor and contraction pains. They sent her home this am and said she's 1cm dilated and still having good strong contractions and that he will be fine to come and it may take a few days. Well when I spoke to her last night she could just talk through the contractions but today not at all. Today they have been all over the place anywhere from 2mins to 15mins apart but strong. I hope her little man will be ok. They said he's strong and as all her bubs have IUGR inter uterine growth retardation he was going to be brought on at 36.5wks anyway as they grow better once they are out. It has worried me all night and today. poor thing. anyway I am good feeling big today but hey some days you do I guess. Kitty I am glad the twinies are doing well but what is cephalic?
Jax amiee and IWTBSB....I'm with you constantly worried but still loving it all just the same.
Missm I hope all goes well for your 18 wk scan keep us posted!!
mummypig I need to go shopping yay for school holidays is all I can say...I'm going to hit the shops big time!!!

Have been missing in action the last week or so. The whole family has been sick and of course I have finally succumbed to it as well!

Doesn't help that the ms fairy has been back this week as well
I think I have missed too much to do personals so will go back and read and then maybe post again tomorrow. Just wanted to say....

Congratulations MrsJT on your little boy - that is so exciting. I was thinking about it last night and I'm going to be impossible on the day of the scan - I just can't wait to find out.
I'm 17 weeks day. The last month or so seems to have gone so quickly. My cold is still hanging around and it's driving me nuts. Had a bad day yesterday and wasn't coping with anything. But have had a decent night's sleep so today is looking brighter.

Hey there folks
Avoiding work for a little bit here, so catching up.
Alibaba - know how you feel. How was the holiday?
IWTBSB - thank you. Just under a week to go.
Mich*mum2three - EOFY eek!! That reminds me I have 2 VERY disorganised clients who I will get a panicked phone call from. I don't do their bookwork but man, they make a mess of doing it themselves...
maren - good luck on the housing and getting the $$ right. I hope the little one settles soon to antipodean time.
mrsjt - excellent about having an obbie you feel comfortable with! And a boy - hooray!!
jax - ha ha at your hubby not being able to find you! Given his aural (and olfactory) cues he should have that much trouble!! Good luck on Thursday.
missm - hi there! Hoping all goes well next week for you.
kittyn - I too am someone ignorant of cephalic, but I hope that they dance nicely to avoid the final breech.
MummyPig - you sound like you are having fun shopping!! Any baby looks good in navy - I am a big one for not colour coding children and used to get in trouble for not pinkifying my girl according to the "rules"!
aimee - great news about the car - I do hope that you and DH get a break soon on his work issues! I am worrying like crazy.
hoping4bubs - I do hope your girlfriend and her bub are okay - my cousins twins arrived at 33 weeks recently. Very scary, but I am so amazed at what modern miracles in medicine there are. (oh - and hers were boy/girl)
fifi - oh go AWAY ms fairy!! That just sucks and it so unfair.
Great list MOH!! Everything looks better after sleep.
AFM - well, I am currently at my sister's place doing work/housesitting and I have had absolutely crap sleep every night!
It seems at least 2 hours every early morning is dedicated to trying to resume sleep and that is VERY hard work. Fluffy pillows and inordinate worrying don't help.
TMI, but last week while doing the deed there was a slight show, which freaked V out and I reassured him but was freaking myself. (There has been nothing since)
The next morning I had a nightmare that the baby had disappeared and I am sure my tum is slacker.
Since then I have alternately convinced myself that nothing is wrong and I am still feeling things move, and the rest of the time I am scared that that is just gas an I wish to goodness I had some morning sickness or something to give me proof positive that it is all systems go.
My SIL has had to go to hospital a few times to be rehydrated due to her MS, and she doesn't know just how serious I am when I am offering to take a percentage of that off her hands.
So next Thursday (because before then I have a combination of no time/no access to facilities) my first question will be to find the heartbeat because it is really doing my head in.
After that, despite my assurance at the beginning that we weren't going to find out sex, if it is presented we will find out because this is likely to be the last one and knowing whether I will be a girl specialist or on a completely different trip would be nice.
*missm*

I am 16 weeks today and my doctor said blood pressure etc good, I have put on 1.3kg since my first doctors appointment, which is good apparently.

AFM: So excited I beat all the crowds yesterday at Big W and was able to put a trampoline on layby for DD 3rd birthday and a swing on layby for Christmas for her. These are joint presents from us and her grandparents so thats my shopping for her done for the rest of the year.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and will drop in next week.

MOH- thanks for the list. I think I have your cold though

It's not too bad but kept me up last night so am taking it pretty easy today hoping it will just disappear
Fifi, sorry you've not been well again

Hope things pick up for you soon!
mrsjt- OMG how exciting!! Congrats on having a boy! I can't believe we're already up to the stage where we can find out already! (quickly losing my resolve to have a surprise, must stay strong...

)
hoping4bubsin09- oh no how scary for your bestie! Sounds like things will work out ok, please update us on how she and bubs go ok? Wishing her all the best. Yay for your mum buying a capsule
*jax*- that's the kind of first-time-mum advice I can handle!

Yay for shopping- and girls can definitely wear navy!
*iwanttobakesomebuns*- I agree, I always have some kind of worry in the back of my mind, but overall am staying fairly relaxed about things, as long as I'm looking after myself. I feel like I'm the queen of googling since becoming PG though!
aimee78- Yay for the new car!! Bummer about the scan being delayed, but I'm sure time will fly and you'll be there in no time

suzie- I also had a bit of a freakout moment after DTD the other night, when my uterus seemed to scrunch up into a tight little ball!!! After some googling (

) I found this is quite normal and not a problem, but gosh it was weird!!!! I'm still not sure if it is the same thing as a braxton hicks or not, having not experienced them before...
MissM- Great work with the shopping! Glad your appointment went well! (Eek, I think I'm nearly up to 5kg!!)...
AFM, not much to report here. Have been getting some sensations in my belly this morning, but not willing to commit to them being the baby as I'm still unsure! Will wait for some more definite signs

Not feeling well at all so taking it easy, drinking lots of hot lemon and honey drinks, and eating lots of curried lentil and vegie soup that I made last night
Bought a couple of baby outfits at the op shop the other day- both pink, even though I'm still pretty sure I'm having a boy. They were so cheap! And in good nic
Hope you're all doing well ladies

alibaba - If you're not 100% sure about finding out the sex we had friends who asked the for the sex to be written on a piece of paper and put in an envelope. They opened it on a special occasion about a month later with family. May be a thought if you think you'd be kicking yourself if you don't find out. And sorry for sharing my cold with you
Missm - I'll add you to the list. Good on you with the sales. We're thinking of getting DS a trampoline for christmas. Our neighbour has one and he was on it for ages yesterday.
suziej - that is a scary dream. I'm sure things are okay but if you are really worried pop to a GP and ask them to check with a doppler for a heartbeat.
fifi - being sick really sucks. Hope you're back to 100% in no time.
hoping4bubs - best wishes for your bestie. Hope bubs is all good. My bestie's step daughter had a little girl at 31 weeks about 3 months ago. Bubs had no probs breathing and was home within 3 weeks.
jax - I'm going to buy something as soon as we find out the sex. We already have tonnes of littel boy clothes but I'll still get something special for hospital.
iwanttobakesomebuns - DS was only in neutrals for 2 days and people were bringing pre-washed 'blue' clothes to the hospital that we could use.
aimee - great new about the car. Nice to have one thing sorted! I've worried more this pregnancy than I did my first one. But if you do the things you can then the rest is really out of our hands. It is hard at times but worrying only adds anxiety to the pregnancy that for the most part is not warranted.
AFM - made myself a bit omelette for lunch and it was really tasty. It was just what I felt like. Just craving something sweet now! I also cleaned our ensuite today. Bit embarrassed because it had been over a fortnight since I'd done it and it was revolting. But just haven't been up to it. Glad it's done now though!

h4bi09 - hope everything goes well for your friend, I'm sure she and bubs will be fine.
mrsjt - congratulations - OMG i am so impatient to find out, roll on Thursday.
mumofhayden - thank you for updating the list.
alibaba~81 - sorry to hear you are sick. I'm an incubator for disease at the moment. I have worked out in the last 9 weeks I have had the flu (I don't think it was swine flu although I got sick one day after getting off a plane so who knows) that laid me up for a week, 2 normal colds, a bout of gastro and 3 icky COLD SORES.
Hi fifi - sorry you have been unwell
Anyway have a great weekend

Hi all - yay for the weekend!
We went to see our obst on Thursday, told her I'm not coping with work with my back so sore as well. She has dropped me down to 5 hours per day at work - YAYYY
So starting Monday I can get a bit more sleep and actually contribute to the household a little, DH is happy too.
We have our big ultrasound on Tuesday, DH hasn't seen Nugget live so that will be special. Trying not to find out the sex but very tempting!
Last night I dreamt I gave birth, but to a cat, a ginger and white fully grown cat that talked and was wearing a MCN! What the?
Something that made me sad: I was lurking on the Due in 16-30th Nov thread only to find they have lost 2 babies this week, at or after 19 weeks. I hope they are coping as well as possible, and I hope so much none of us have to deal with something so horrible.
Personals: I just can't keep up with the goss like some more organised souls, my compliments to those that can. I hope everyone is well or at least getting better!
Have lovely weekends all - I have a massage booked on saturday arvo which I am Sooooo looking forward to!
Belly rubs to all.

madreader - yes the threads have left me unsettled as well. Read Lara (TheCrone)'s story about going for her 19 week ultrasound and being told her baby had died. We know we're pretty safe now but it does bring home that things can still go wrong. I only saw Lara's story and not the other one - how terrible for two families to be going through that.

Oh my goodness....I just read Lara, Kirsty and Louise's stories from the 16th -30th nov dig I can't stop crying. I am so terrified of anything happening to our babies. Lousie was a woman pregnant with twins who was suffering from a bit of dizziness and difficulty breathing she collapsed in her hubby's arms and died after lots of cpr. She had DVT it had gone to her lungs. I pray for you all and hope we can all have happy and healthy pregnancies with beautiful babies born full of life in dec 2010. I just feel so sad.

04/07/2009, 11:24 AM
Oh how terrible, giving me goosebumps already and I haven't even read the stories yet, not sure if I'm brave enough to. This is the thing I am panicing about the most that I get to the scan and there is no heart beat, it is so weird with the other 2 I was excited about my 19wk scan this time I'm dreading it. Don't think I could take any more bad news, the car has already fallen through this week so back to the drawing board on that one.
Hoping4bubs - not sure bout u but I don't think I could stand being pregnant for another yr so I'm praying for a bubs in Dec 09!! LOL - although I did one of those silly things on facebook and it said I was going to have a boy on Dec 25 2010!!! Which really settled my worries NOT!!!
Hope everyone else is ok and not worrying too much.

Hi Everyone
I was lurking last night and read your posts about all the bad news the 16-30 Nov Dig have had, gees it made my heart drop for them. My bf lost her bub at 18 weeks a few years back and what made a devastating time even harder for her was that it happened 5 days before her wedding day. She had to walk down the isle with a baby bump that was still there and a special request at the service was made before she arrived that everyone please be respectful and not bring the loss up as this was a very happy and special day for them. It amazed me how many idiots had too much to drink at the reception and said something though! I am sure they had the best intentions but my heart broke for her.
mrsjt - sorry, I did read your last post but haven't posted since (slacker!!) I have heard Dr Gan is great - it so good to find an ob you feel comfortable with isn't it? I am seeing Dr Busch (yes... funny name for an ob!!) We really like him. We had used another ob for our first two born at Glengarry and she was very good at what she did but her bedside manner wasn't the best. For our 3rd we decided that because we had had 2 very 'text book' natural births for our first 2 and I was not high risk or anything, we would go to a gp who delivers at Glengarry - he had delivered quite a few friends bubs and he was wonderful, I ended up having major complications with that birth (but nothing to do with the GP) and the gp called in Dr Busch who ended up giving me a cs. He was fantastic during and after the birth, very caring and approachable so we decided with this bub because we want a cs we have gone straight to him and I couldn't be happier. Congratulations on finding out you are having a beautiful baby boy!!! That is such wonderful news. Little boys just

their mummies!! We are finding out this coming Thursday!! I feel so strongly that I am having another boy, can't wait to see if I am right or not.. dh is thinking girl!
Anyway, I have written a bloody book again so better get going and put my babes to bed! I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

How devastating for them.
Unfortunately didn't really help my state of mind, and being at least 200km away from a known doppler and with child on school holidays isn't making any decision making any easier on my side...
On the other hand, when I was so bored at work a month ago, I lurked at the June 1-15 group because they were all having their babies (I cry at happy stories) and the Feb 1-15 group because they were all newly excited about their pregnancies.
Nature can be cruel, but also very benevolent - I am doing a few prayers for the latter!!

Good morning ladies!
Hmmm... once again I find myself popping in and out with no time for personals! I am so sorry - will try to sit down for longer during the week. It has just been so busy around here!
We went for a nice dinner last night at an old school friend's house who I have not caught up with for a while. She had no idea about the baby although her 5 year old daughter had asked before we got there if I had a baby in my tummy! Bit psychic really!
Having lost babies myself, I find it really hard to read stories about this when I am pregnant. I am the greatest advocate for supporting mothers with loss and still find my mind having to struggle to not to let it affect me. My heartfelt thoughts go out to the ladies in the November group who are having to deal with loss that will stay with them for life. All my love
I am heading off to Mathilda's Market today to check out things for the baby. Anyone else in Sydney going? I have told DH that it is for research purposes only

Tee hee

Little does he know what he is in for!

Hi Ladies,
Been very busy at my new job ( I transferred at work to one of our Libraries)
I know a lady I worked with named Louise who was pregnant with twins and died earlier this year, Iit might be the same lady, it was a very sad circumstance because they had been trying to fall pregnant for years. She was a really nice person and was the happiest she had been for a long time. Very tragic.
I have my scan next Monday, I'm not going to find out eh sex but I can post the pics and get you to all to give me your guesses, thats not really finding out then is it!
AFM I'm getting regular kicks and have definately popped out - I guess we are all nearly half way now - woo hoo.
alibaba - I bought two girls outfits at myer too - I couldn't resist they were soooooo gorgeous!
Anyway got loads of housework to do - ho hum ho hum.

What terrible news

My heart goes out to those families xo
Gawd, it does make you worry too, especially when you're not getting regular (or any? who knows... I'm still never really convinced it's not gas...) movements.
I'm pretty sure I had a braxton hicks contraction last night, could this be right? I woke up with a really full bladder as I (obviously) needed to pee, and realised my uterus was really tight and hard, and kind of poking out in a little ball. It pretty much went as soon as I got up. I read that having a full bladder can bring them on, so I'm guessing it had to be that?

Seems early though...
busyboys- I know, it's taking so much self control not to buy every cute thing I see! I bought some little bonds socks yesterday as they were super cheap

I just want to say all the best to everyone for upcoming scans over the next few weeks! I hope there is lots and lots of good news coming our way
Anyway, got to get ready for an inlaws lunch at my parents soon (yep, both sides, eek!). This being the first grandchild on both sides, I think there will be much baby talk over the next few hours!
All the best everyone xoxo

Alibaba - I really wish I was feeling movement at this point too. I felt one definite lot of faint movement last week and absolutely nothing since - I've poked and prodded a lot too. It's silly to worry because one way or another there is nothing we can do but would be nice to have some reassuring kicks. Braxton hicks can start from 9 weeks so it's probably definitely it. I had one lot at around 14 weeks but not since. Usually not til 30+ weeks do they get really strong (and can be painful).
busyboys - hope you're enjoying your new job. Yay for regular kicks and popping out.
Fifi - enjoy your shopping today.
suziej - I might do a bit of lurking like that myself - hearing stories of beautiful babies being delivered is always something to make you smile. I often lurk in the OPKs/HPT threads becuase I love the excitement when people first get their BFP.
michmum2three - having an OB you're comfortable with really helps make a pregnancy easier. So reassuring.
mrsjt - I can't help myself but read the threads. It has got me concerned and worried for my bub which I'm kicking myself about but for some reason can't stop myself from reading them.
aimee78 - sorry to hear about the car falling through. What a pain in the bum.
AFM - we were child free last night as DS stayed at my parents place. We had a 40th to go to which was really nice. It was held at a trendy pub and everything was put on. I managed to stay out til 11pm which is good going for me. In bed by midnight and thoroughly enjoyed my sleep in this morning.
Unfortunately DS isn't 100%. He whacked his lip yesterday and bit it and it's swollen and he cries when he tries to eat. He was up four times during the night and mum's and really unsettled and upset. He's never like that and a shame that he didn't enjoy himself as much down there. He's home now and I've just put him down for a sleep. Managed to get a caramel milkshake into him and he's eaten some baked beans (after some nurofen) so hopefully with a fully belly and the nurofen he'll have a good sleep today and wake up feeling brighter.
As I mentioned earlier no more kicks or anything. I can't wait til I can feel this bub kicking regularly. In two weeks we've got our 19 week scan but nothing until then. I think it'll be a long two weeks waiting to see everything.

Hey everyone,
just a quick one I too have been having braxton hicks totally didn't know what they were but if I need to go to the loo I get one and have had hmmm about three today when I have heard water running!!!!

I never had them with DD!! nve....good when we are running the taps on and off today as we found arghhh a leak behind the shower....turns out I was right and DH was wrong.

I have said all along I thought there was a leak between the shower and the wall and yep guess what we found a hole in the pipe running from the shower taps inside the wall....after we ripped the wall out!!! DH has said it was us girls getting the wall wet when having our shower...due to having a shower curtain and not a screen. Well being a glazier he finally (after oh 6years) put a shower screen with a frameless door etc in. We decided to rip the wall out as it was needing to be replaced and there it was a leak!!! Well my poor GF has had contractions on an off since Wednesday and is still going....yuck!!! I hope for her they either produce a baby or they stop so she can have a rest. The Dr's said bubs is strong and would be ok after a stay in the special care nursery!!
Belly rubs to all....I think mine grew last night!!!Bubs giving me good kicks now

which helps after reading all the horror stories!!!

Hi Mummies & Tummies
Well, 19 weeks tomorrow and my 20w scan the following Monday. I am having little bits of movement but not a lot. I didn't feel much with DS until about 24 weeks but I had an anterior placenta with him and I have a posterior one with this one.
That being said, I was a little (

) on the padded side before I fell pregnant so things may be a little muted (

).
I went and read the Nov DIG - I know The Crone because she used to live in Canberra - what a terrible thing to happen. My heart goes out to all of them. Having lost babies as well (very early though) I shed a number of tears.
I took a bit of a fall yesterday. DS fell over and was crying really hard. DH had him in his arms and I went to sit on a chair so that I could look after him and the chair overbalanced and fell backward and I sat down on the legs!!! Lets just say I have some very lovely bruises on my thighs and a*se!!!
Will bbl.
Tummy rubs and raspberries to all.

Oh goodness, I dont know if I can bring myself to read the Nov thread, sounds absolutely terrible. How sad for them. I am just getting past my anxiety (having seen the twins on Thursday at OB) and to hear that you are never really out of the woods is just awful. I actully allowed myself to buy clothes today (just little singlets

) because I had been too anxious to buy "personal" things. Sigh. I guess nothing is ever certain
How sobering. Well I hope you ladies are all doing ok. Its not nice to hear this sort of thing is it.

Just sneaking in after my day at the baby markets
Didn't buy too much although saw heaps to go on my wish list and picked up lots of brochures. Did buy a mega-size muslin wrap that I couldn't resist though!

Will be saving my pennies for the next one though when we will know what we are having
Hope everyone else had a great weekend

hey everyone for those who are interested as I was to know what and how and why for Louise.....her husbands name is Bernie they had been ttc since April 2004 and she passed away on the 15/4/09 their babies were due 17/11/09. I was so saddened by it all and terrified at the possibility of not only losing my baby but the whole DVT thing too! It all starts in the 16th -30th Nov thread no. 7 page 10.
Keep well everyone and treasure every minute!!

Hello ladies!
I had worked myself into a real state by yesterday, so on our way back home we popped into the hospital where I am due to have bubs. I had to go to emergency as before you are 20 weeks you cannot be sent to the family unit - a lady came down from there and she (eventually - heartstopping moments looking) found a very strong heartbeat from the hiding baby. So relieved!
The lady who did it for me was lovely and very understanding and made me feel a lot better!
Hoping for bubs - so sad about the lady who died. I think we need to rip out a wall behind our shower for similar reasons. Just waiting on a lotto win.
Fifi - I am doing a bit of a scout for my list today also. I am taking my daughter out for a girlie day today as her holidays (well except for the musting with Grandpa and few days with cousins) have been boring as while I have been working on client's work a bit. Given that my two main clients are being very late payers ATM I have decided to prioritise her!
kitty-n - I have been loathe to jump in and buy for similar reasons - singlets are excellent! You will receive so many fancy clothes when they are born, the basics are important.
jill - oh how, in hindsight, funny but at the time awful about the fall. I have a little padding myself - if I pull the blubber tight there is still a bump about 1/2 the size of the "motor"!
moh - since hearing the heartbeat I have had a few more little kicks, so the beggar may have been playing coy! I do hope your poor ds and his lip recover well. I think this one is more of a poker and pusher than my previous little alien (now a hale 9 2/3 year old).
alibaba - I hope lunch went well with all prospective grandparents!
bridget - are you enjoying your new job?
Anyhow, off to send off my invoices for last week, put a few loads of washing on (one at a time), do the budget and go shopping (always important to get those two in order!) so have a lovely Monday.

suziej - I've seriously been considering making an appointment with my GP just to check. It's insane but I spent about 30 mins lying in bed last night poking and prodding trying to feel something. I'm sure that there was something but it's more like a shadow of a sensation if you know what I mean - no definite kicks or anything. My GP is absolutely lovely so I know she'd be so understanding but it's in town and takes days to get an appointment so will hold of another day or two.
Sorry no more personals as daycare just rung - Hayden was really keen to go this morning despite a horrendous night so I took him but he's crying and they can't settle him so will go get him.
I think I was up for for about 4 hours in total during the night with him. He was screaming for 20 mins at a time (unheard of for him) and we had him in with us for a while (we've never co-sleep before ever) but it was a shocking night. I've had a good look at his mouth and he has ulcers all along the bottom of his gumline where it joins the lips so no wonder it's soo sore.
Chat later ladies.

Hi All.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I didn't do too much, just the usual washing and housework. I even went outside and did some work in my vegie patch (DH built me a lovely one before last summer),the weather was quite nice.
My vegies are coming along nicely, this is my first winter crop. I have cauliflower, brocolli, onions, spring onions and garlic. My parsley and lettuce I planted from summer is going berserk, it obviously doesn't get affected by frost!!
I went and read the DIG thread and it made me feel so

. Bubs was moving nicely last night, starts about 7pm so it made me feel better. I have felt two nice hard kicks (or punches) from the outside now so definately quite feisty, possibly signs of a boy

suziej - great you went to the hospital and how reassuring to hear bubs heartbeat.
mumofhayden - ouchy, I hope your little boy feels better soon.
hoping4bubsin09 - thanks for the info. I have had problems with my veins since DD1 so 17 years now. I have always been worried about DVT but my vascular surgeon has never been worried even though my veins are huge. The one I have now is rope like (about 1cm across), runs from a bulge in my ankle to my vulva. It is GROSS and feels horrible.
alibaba~81 - I have been having BH for about 5-6 weeks now so they are possible early on, some are mild and some quite strong, they are not uncomfortable though. I'm getting them roughly every 3rd day (ones I'm aware of anyway).
busyboys - it would be great to see your scans and fun to try and guess.
Anyway , will try to pop back in later if I have time.

i dont think i will be reading the thread you have all been talking about..... it's so sad for ladies who lost babies and i feel for them. I think reading the thread will make me worry more than i already am and thats something thats probably not healthy

We had a great weekend picked up our cradle from DH's work mate took it apart and washed it then popped it back together once ironed and it looks pretty!! Went crazy in the nursery section at target friday and got a huge bag full of stuff!
We have our OB appointment on friday which is exciting

Sorry no personals i've fallen to far behind

Thanks ladies for the replies about braxton hicks

Glad to hear some others are having them too (although I've still only had that one- but glad to know it's normal!).
Jax- funny, I felt two hard kicks/punches from the outside last night too! But then I felt nothing else, inside or out. And this was the only 'definite' movement I've felt since last Monday, so afterwards I started doubting whether it even happened?? I wonder if I'm just making stuff up because I really WANT to feel the baby??

Hmmm...
Lunch with the parents and inlaws went well on Sunday, thank goodness. Then we went around to a friends house- some really good friends of ours just got engaged! So excited for them!!
Sorry, no personals today, a bit flat out! (Obviously not too flat out to come on here and post though

)...
Take care ladies

So cute!
Sorry, just had to share

Hello all, I would like to comae and join you girls, if thats all right? a little about me
Name: Kel, 26
Due: 10 December
Location: Central NSW
First baby....
Hope you are all well and i have been reading all the previous posts and boy you lot know how to talk, but that is a good thing.
I am getting quite excited as it is now 3 more weeks till my first U/s and we cant wait to see bubbles.
Hope you all have a brillant day and does this mean i claim GOLD! lmao

Welcome Kel! How exciting, the first bub!!! Gold for today, at least.
alibaba - he he - video moment.
iwanttobake - isn't it funny what we get superstitious about. Ha, who needs to look upon the full moon when we have to think avert! avert! on the computer these days.
jax - up here we had the most disappointing attempt at cauliflower last year - if only you could eat the leaves... dd planted a fantastic patch of parsley the year before last so we had tabouli on tap for 2 years. Alas, they all curled up and crumbled and I am envious. Lettuce bolts to seed here, so really not worth it. I am in hope of our strawberries, and have onions, shallots, silverbeet, spinach, beetroot and coriander, saved from seed-bolting by being shaded by a basil hedge!!! We also have one of those amazing pumpkin vines come up out of nowhere and is promising a good crop! Tomatoes are also self-seeding from the compost like crazy.
moh - could you take your little boy to the doctor and get the doppler chucked on for good measure? Time and motion!!
Okay, back to me... Last night the baby made up for lost time by doing a little trampolining from the lower left to the top right for a little while - so cool. Its funny - you can't control it (obviously) so it must be the baby is at that stage of development where they are already learning to say (in their own way) "no" to mum!!
Have a great Tuesday, all.

suziej - that thought did cross my mind. We take DS to DH's family doctor though (not mine) and I'm not as comfortable with him. He's pretty strict on the one thing only per appointment and he probably wouldn't consider putting the doppler on mum's tum to be part of DS's ulcers.
Kel - welcome. I've added you to the list so in the next new thread your details will be on there.
alibaba - that is really cute. Good to see that he's planning to have to use them!
iwanttobakesomebuns - great news about the cradle. We had the cot and changetable for DS from friends and I loved revarnishing the wood - it came up like brand new. A bed for baby makes it seem very real.
jax - great news on your vegies. My mum is a horticulturalist but I've definitely not inherited her green thumb. I grown herbs but that's about it. Mum regularly makes 'suggestions' for things I can do for my potted plants whenever she comes over.
AFM - Well yesterday was just a nightmare. Hayden was so miserable and we were both so tired. Not a good combo. DH got home from work early but walked straight back out the door to go to footy so wasn't happy about that. Last night he was up every 45 mins til about 1am. Luckily a bit easier to settle so only up for about 2 mins each time rather than 20 like the night before. So am just so tired again today. He woke up much happier though and actually came into us asking for his hot porridge. Ate breakfast without screaming too which is a plus. The ulcers seem to have really shrunk in size so we're on the mend. He's on my lap now wants to look at pictures of Hayden (loves look at the photos of himself on the computer).
Take care all.

kel~eric- Welcome!!
moh-

Sorry to hear Hayden has been feeling so out of sorts. Poor thing. Glad he seems to be on the mend now and returning to his old self.
suziej- I had exactly the same thing last night! I was lying down in front of the heater and started feeling bubs moving about all over the place. I called DH over and he also felt it (the stronger ones anyway). I couldn't believe that he could feel it this early!!! We were so excited- such an amazing feeling!!
iwanttobakesomebuns- how exciting about the cradle! Piccies?? Good luck for your appt on Friday

jax- so jealous of your veggie patch! We moved house in December and I still haven't got around to planting anything

. We do have a large grapefruit tree and orange tree that are going crazy at the moment though- and the fruit is fantastic

Came in very handy last night when I had an orange juice craving and we didn't have any
AFM- I'm still beaming from the soccer match bubs seemed to be playing last night

I also woke up in the middle of the night and put my hand on my belly and felt a few more. I'm hoping this means they might be fairly consistent from now on (fingers crossed)
Well, better do some work! Have a great day ladies

Hi girls,
Horrible news about the losses in the other DIG. I won't read it but I really feel for them.
All is getting back to normal with us. We're getting our house back on Monday!!!!! DH has started work in melbourne at his new job and I'm still stuck for now in the country. And then we'll have to wait until DH gets his work car and I get my car back.
Jax - I'll have to ask you lots of questions. I'm planning to create my first vegie patch ever when we get back to the house. I think I'll start with some herbs in a flowerpot though.

Hello Mummies
kel~eric- welcome to our group.

I am a first time mummy too. I find it very helpful being able to talk to women who have done it all before, you can jump on here and ask all sorts of Q and everyone is always willing to help you out.
maren- i hope youe settling in nicely, its always good to be surround famililarity.
Im glad I didn't read those sad stories because its been playing on my mind just thinking about it. I broke out in a random rash all over my legs and arms. I was freaking out it was the start on measels but there was nothing behind my ears. I remember on one of our earlier threads someone was getting a rash on their tummy, Im wondering if it was a similar thing? The Doc said sometimes you can get a rash because of your pregnancy.
I asked him if he could put the Doppler on my tum but he said the one they have they dont like to use till about 20 weeks because bubs heart is so small that he might not be able to pick it up, and could cause more stress than good. I also talked to him about what happened to those ladies and he was shocked and said that losing a bubs at this stage is rare, and that it happening to 3 women in the same DIG was very rare and very sad.
I too laid in bed waiting for bubs to move, I think I could actually feel him from the outside.

I was so excited but a little sad becuse my Husband is working in Albany all week so I couldn't share it with him.
I am having another scan on the 16th because bubs heart is a bit too small at 17 weeks (which is about when I had my last scan) for them to be 100% happy about giving me the all clear.
Goodluck for all the upcoming scans and for those finding out I cant wait to hear what you are having.
Take Care Mummies. Bring on the kicks and backflips
