Hi all

PrincessLucy- That's wondeful that James is now home with you! Enjoy your little man original.gif Any pics you could share? tongue.gif

kelz- Aww!!!! Eve is just so beautiful wub.gif Thanks for sharing a picture of her.

AFM- Not much happening here. I have a slight cold (caught off DD) and other then the usual tiredness etc etc I am plodding along ok. 37+1weeks today, so it is getting closer original.gif

Here is a pic taken today:

ejox
sliver??

had OB appointment today, now i onl have 2 more left. im either getting the gel t induce on wednesday 12th or breaking the waters on the 13th - it hink i prefer the gel, its more natural.... she will let me know as i get closer

had a belated 30th bday dinner. chinese YUM, didnt check my levels that night... i did however have reallllllly bad reflux - ended up waking up with vomit in my mouth - but it was worth it
Nut
Bronze

Had a MW appointment today.

Hazel is very much engaged... Or at least this morning. She could still move up again but I doubt it. MW said she could barely feel anything at all and said probably 3/5 but even as much as 2/5 engaged.

She did the check in the middle of a braxton and was in total disbelief at how hard my belly was. She kept commenting on how firm it was, how she couldn't feel anything through it at all and asked incredulously if they were always like that. Yep. And they last a while too!

So we're gearing up and getting ready to go. Not that it means a great deal at this stage but hopefully it means I wont go over. Not that I am expecting to, didn't before and none of the women in my family have ever done so.
Nadine22
ejox- Sounds like you had a lovely dinner. I had a curry the other night because I was craving it. It gave me shocking heartburn during that night but it was worth it also LOL.

Nut- Good girl hazelnut for engaging further biggrin.gif I swear this morning this bub engaged more. She did something down there that stopped me in my tracks and it absolutely killed! I have my appointment tomorrow morning so we will see if she is down further. She was 3/5ths last appointment.

Nut
Nadine - I have had a few moments like that. Often feels like I am being stabbed in the cervix from inside.

She wasn't engaged at all last time so from nothing to "She's REALLY low, so much that I can't feel anything above anymore" is a good change.

I knew it though. The change in pressure and location of tension etc... She had to be.

Hello everyone waves.gif

Thank you for everyone's comments in regards to bubs movements. It is reasurring to kinow that everyone else is noticing a difference. I think for me it definately relates to the position bubs is in. If bubs is facing towards my spine then I feel more of the rolling type of movements and when bubs faces towards my tummy that is when I feel the stretching and prodding of little feet and hands wub.gif

Insomnia - Lately I have been sleeping the best I ever have this pregnancy. I am putting it down to not being able to have a nap during the day and the long hot showers I have before I go to bed original.gif Either way, I am making the most of it at the moment.

Nadine - love the belly pic wub.gif

Ejox - mmmmmmm Chinese. I had a real craving for it the other night bu didn't get to have it. It will be on the menu for after bubs is born for sure Tounge1.gif

Nut - sounds like Hazel is definately getting ready to make her grand entrance original.gif This is my first bubs that has not engaged at all. Being bub #4 it is not unusual, but DD#2 (bub #3) was well and truly engaging by 32 weeks.

Jodie

Nut
Jodie - Alex was about the same at this stage, he just progressed down a bit slower rather than wedging himself in there suddenly. But they can still move up and down and sit there happily right to the end so I am far from jittery with anticipation.

Still, nice to know that she's doing the right thing and hopefully I will have a nice easy labour again.

My sister is back tonight so she can come when ever she wants now. Even if the cow MIL hasn't left the country yet... Though I would still prefer it that way
~My3kidz~
bells66 - You are indeed game taking on a whole heap of 4 year olds on a trip!.. I hope they don't wear you out too much!..

ETA - No engagement going on here at all...
Nadine22
boy-angel- Thankyou original.gif I missed the movements post you did but yes it is normal for bubs to slow down now. They don't have as much room and their movements are more like stretches.

Nut- Hopefully hazel will stay put untill MIL has departed tongue.gif

I have just gotten really ouchy down there and in my cervix.. I will definately be suprised if she hasn't engaged more!

Hi ladies waves.gif

Just got back from the OB- (again blink.gif ) feel like I live there atm.
BP still 150/100, so meds increased again...
Still Protein in Urine, so I am doing a 24 hour urine collection.
I have an ultrasound next tuesday to check growth again (will be 2 weeks from the last one).
Other then that, I just have to see him again on wednesday.
He was really good and is charging me the lower cost amount fee and I will get it all back from medicare, as I think he felt bad that I'm having about 2-3 appointments a week and ultrasounds, and I have no money, but don't qualify for a heathcare card for another few weeks until its been 8 weeks since I finished work.

Wanted to add this link- made me cry with laughter... but I may have a silly sense of humour!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-94JhLEiN0

Nut- good to hear about hazel! What a good girl!
Nadine22- great pic!

Engagement- I dont think I'm engaged at all yet. I know his head down, but I dont think his in the pelvis yet.
On saturday the middy said he was still 'free floating', but I feel he may have moved down a little since then... who knows. Will get a good look at my next scan.

Insomnia- Sorry- I've been sleeping like a baby, better then I have all pregnancy. (not sure if its as DH isn't with me and I have a big bed all to myself- will all the pillows I could dream of. laughing2.gif)
Other then the routine 3.30am toilet run, sleeping great.
C.C.S.
Hello!

I was on earlier today and ready to post but got side tracked by work - damn it tongue.gif I'll try and remember what I was going to write.

Going home outfit - With DS we didn't have anything small enough for him to wear so DH went out and bought him a few outfits, they are packed for this baby to wear if necessary but it too will get it's own couple of outfits and then we will keep 1 or 2 for each in their special keepsake boxes (which are massive!). Its a great idea, totally unintensional in our family though!

Nadine22- great pic!

bnblewis - I hope the new meds work out for you, great that your OB is charging you less so it's less stressful for you.

Nut- glad to hear hazel is engaging!

Engagement- Don't know if bub is engaged, though it is head down and has been for several weeks. I have a scan tomorrow which will hopefully tell me more and a midwife appt on Friday. I think it is engaging though a) I peed 5x more yesterday than I have any other day this pregnancy & b) I am getting headbutting and sharpe pains right down low. Hope it's engaging!

Insomnia- No insomnia here though you wouldn't know it from how tired I am. I wake up to go to the toilet once a night and turn about 3 times a night (that I'm aware of). I am going to bed early too but it doesn't seem to help. I guess I do have a lot on my plate at the moment with working, building and home life but still... aghh only 10 days of work left!!!!! Now that's a nice thought!!

Should be moving into our house THIS weekend. We are meeting the builder out there to go through the house at 3pm and then it's just a matter of waiting for the cheque to turn up from the bank and it's ours!! I'm so excited!! Though we're cutting it fine, I'm 35+3 today and DS was 2 weeks early so if this one comes early then we may be only JUST in our house!! Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Anyway, I am at work so I had better get productive. Internet use is not terribly productive though it is much more exciting than work!!

Have a great day ladies.

Hi All!

Had my last OB appointment today, baby will be born on Wednesday next week! If she gets there.. hopefully she will I've never had a 'booked' CS would be nice to do a non-emergency one! Have been having LOADS of braxton hicks, they seem to come at least once or twice an hour, and have for nearly 24 hours now, so I guess they are not doing anything!

NutYay on baby engaging! You're term now so maybe you won't have to wait to 40 weeks to meet your little princess smile1.gif

bnblewis bbighug.gif not too long to go now! I hope you feel better with the change in meds and that baby is blissfully unaware of the dramas it's causing!

Nadinegreat pic!!

ejox I had chinese for dinner last night too and also had REALLY bad reflux, I'm buggered today from so many trips to the fridge for an alternating of mylanta and milk to try and relieve it, but it was worth it! Was yummo!

Movements I've also noticed a decrease in bub's movements, she seems to have a 'newborn' pattern of sleeping for a few hours, waking up doing a few movements, hiccups, then back to sleep again. Apparently it can be normal around this stage to have a decrease in movements, I asked the MW when I had the CTG and she said as long as you feel bubs in the morning, bubs at night, and a few during the day to not stress.. and like someone else said sit down, have a drink - or tap a hard spot, and count movements if you're worried

InsomniaUgh me! I honestly feel like I toss and turn more than I am actually asleep. I seem to sleep well from 10 to 12 and then toss the rest of the night. And since I've been on Tamiflu I am having the most vivid dreams!! I googled it, and saw it could be a side effect - how funny! They seem so real, I could wake up and totally think whatever I dreamt was really happening!

Swine FluSIGH I wish hubby wasn't an A&E Dr and I wouldn't be so worried! The stories he brings home about normal healthy young people getting VERY sick from it freaks me out! And not even going there about the pregnant ones. I'm really suprised at1 that your A&E didn't care about you being pregnant with hubby with flu symptoms. I think the guidelines are now you only get swabbed if you are pregnant because so many pregnant women are getting seriously sick from it - damn our immunities when we're pg!

Pregnancy brain, can't remember what else I was going to say.

HI to everyone else!

Who's going to be next???

qldmum04
Can I please just add one more thing:

If anyone does get a temp - head to you DR straight away! My OB stressed the importance of that to me when I saw him today. Apparently they deliver alot of babies even if they are slightly premature if mum has SF.
mikejuliet1
I had a temp and they were treating me like I had SF - there was still no definite talk of delivery for me. I told DH yesterday that she can stay in there forever - never to come out lol.

Here is a brief outline of my crappiest hospital stay ever (it was only for 24hrs from Fri to Sat night)...

Went from no mask, to mask, to no mask, to mask + staff in full gowns etc.
Went from birth suite assessment room to single room with shared bathroom on ward, to single room with own bathroom on ward, to even crappier birth suite assessment room.
Was stabbed a total of 7 times (4 cannulas (sp?), 2 blood tests, 1 IM Maxalon). Plus I had already had a blood test earlier on the Fri also.
3 urine tests, each nostril swabbed + throat swabbed.
A bout of V&D.
Listening to the staff argue about which ward/department/room I should/shouldn't be sent too.
Being made to feel less popular than a pile of dog sh*t.
No visitors.
Wrong meals.
Staff sprouted uninformed crap.

I think that's about it!
mumzy09
Hi ladies,

Still reading, nothing to add really.

mikejuliet, Oh you poor thing, sounds like a horrible experience, how are you feeling now? hows things?

I went for a CTG this morning after posting, i got a little worried about the experience last night, so phoned and was asked to go in. All was well, bub is fine, but has moved position!

Chat soon.

Cas Cas wub.gif

Nut
Monica - So all in all a positive experience then...

You poor thing. Sounds dreadful!!

CC - It's hard to tell. I had been getting the head butts and stabbing for ages but no engagement. Difference I noticed was when my braxtons went more into my pubic region and pressure on the bum. Totally different feeling to before.

Kylie - That's nice of your OB to help lower the costs a bit. Every little bit helps hey.

From the list, it looks like Leah (qldmum04) will have her baby next - a C/S booked in 8 days! You must be getting excited now - not long to go at all now ddance.gif

Nadine: Gorgeous belly picture wub.gif What a beautiful bump you have.

boy-angel: So glad that you are getting time to rest. That is one of the things most people are telling me to do - get lots of sleep and rest! Last time I was really nervous so I was always on the go and trying to keep myself busy.

Nut: Hazel should be arriving soon then original.gif It must be great having your SIL around. One of my SIL's had a baby about a month ago - so good to go shopping and talk about the baby with her. My sister also just found out she is pregnant, but she is still only around 10 weeks - so two very different stories. It always feels like everyone around me is having a baby or getting pregnant.

bnblewis: I have been sleeping great too. Not so many toilet runs now either. I loved that clip - I so wish my wedding entrance was as funny and interesting as that. I would have died if I were a bridesmaid and was asked to dance down the aisle, lol.

CharnChayse: We brought things that were too big for my DS too. We had to send a few people out to get him some smaller outifts. How exciting with the new house. Are you finishing up work early?

Mikejuliet1: You poor thing! I hope you are doing okay.

We had decided on Sophia Kate and Jacob Riley for our baby, but DH wants to possibly add Juliet in there as well. So, we will wait and see - hopefully we can decide at the hospital or when the baby is born.

I hope everyone is well.
tepster
Hi Girls,

Well last night I had the worst (so far) false/prelabour pains, that I was starting to think it was the real deal! Then it gradually eased after a couple hours, a hot milo and lots of relaxation breathing...
So anyway I went to my MW appointment this morning and everytime she tried to feel my belly and bub it got so tight she couldn't feel a thing! And it's so tender I nearly cried. She brought in a dinosaur mobile ultrasound and checked out bub that way. Still 1/5 engaged (4/5 above brim), measuring 36-37 weeks and quite content. My BP was good too and I also did GBS Swab and blood tests.
She said "You could continue to have these episodes - hopefully not everynight for your sake - for quite some time. But when bub will arrive is the $6 million question!"
EXCELLENT! ohmy.gif

So now DP feels really bad that he couldn't be here with me when I was in pain and upset and alone. But there is no point him coming home on hols yet, incase bub stays put for another month! (He is taking 3-4 weeks unpaid leave)

Sorry for the all about me post...

Can't think what else I was going to add. Goodnight.
Nut
Norina - It's actually my sister, not my SIL. She's one of my best friends, and has 4 children which are like my own brothers and sisters in a way. She is looking after Alex for me and having her back home (she's been in Adelaide for 10 days) is a comfort. I know he will be OK with her.

Alas, she did not make it back tonight though as their car broke down. They have to get it fixed tomorrow before they can come home.

Tep - Hope the episodes don't keep going too much. I had something like that about a week ago... Missed an hour of the movie we were watching!! Though I did not get to the point where I thought it was anything real, but still.

I never had anything like it with Alex so it's a bit different for me.
norina
Nut: Sorry, my mistake. My DD would like to be at the birth (my guess is that after 5 minutes she will be outside waiting laughing2.gif) and my SIL will look after my DS. I don't have any of my sisters living with me here, so having my SIL around is just great.
*Foggy*

Hey everyone,

I am REALLY having trouble keeping up with these threads lately! There's so much going on biggrin.gif

Definitely no engagement going on here - my bubs still feels quite 'high', if that's anything to go by. But like many of you, I've got plenty of insomnia going on...! wacko.gif

Sorry to be so brief - but it's really just a question for Nut:

Nic/Nut - You had a 4D scan for Hazel earlier on, yeah? My MIL has just decided that she REALLY wants us to get one, and she's going to give us a little money toward it. I'm just not sure if it's already too late for me?

The website for one of the places here says 26 - 35 weeks is recommended. Goes on to say something about fuller figures being better for later, slimmer figures being better for early on... I'm probably classed as slimmer (not that you'd know it right now..)... do you think it's too late for me? I'm already 35 + 3

I'm going to ring them tomorrow morning... but just incase you were around... original.gif

Hi to everyone else! waves.gif

Fastrunnydog
HI Foggy,

I can't answer the slimmer/fuller question - I would be slimmer I guess, and had mine at about 30 weeks. I hope you are able to book it in and see your bub. It was the best thing we did, and well worth every penny. We had both sets of parents come to watch (on massive comfy lounge suite complete with big screen TV!) and the CD and DVD has done the rounds of all the siblings, aunts and uncles!

good luck!!

~Simply*Blue~
I just had the best nights sleep I've had in months! I slept all night except for 1 toilet stop. I woke up at 5.40am when dh left for work and the boys got up but then was able to snooze until 7am!! Unheard of in this house!

I'm about to drop the boys at preschool and head off to my ob appointment. My scar is very tender today so I'll mention that to him. I had a dream last night that I was bleeding a bit, I hope that's not a sign of anything. Although I'm almost 36 weeks now, so I'm happy I got this far with no dramas.

I can't wait to find out what we are having too! It's starting to drive me nuts not knowing! AND we still haven't decided on a boys name! Wonder if that's a sign mmmm...... laughing2.gif

Monica Gosh I can't imagine how you felt, I really hope you have no more serious problems and have a great birth.
~My3kidz~
Morning all...

I think I slept a tad bit better last night although poor DH decided to get out of bed and sleep on the floor in the lounge because I was snoring.. Well better he did that than end up dead waking me up to tell me to roll over! biggrin.gif

Still got up a few times and was on the insomnia train from about 5:30am onwards.. Today will be a long day..
Nut
Foggy - Best time is 28 - 32 weeks generally as the baby has some fat on it but not totally smooshed.

With DS I had one at 23, 28 and 35 weeks. At 35 weeks it was still a nice experience, but the image quality was not quite as good as the earlier ones.

Here's something I put together at the end of the pregnancy to show the differences in ages at the time of scans.

Norina - No worries. DH only has brothers so this will be the first girl for their family really. MIL will dote on her no doubt. I do get along well with DH's cousin though but she's recently moved to Melbourne.

Blue - Nothing better than the wanted good night sleep. I had about 5 hours of uninterrupted deep sleep the other night (until Alex woke at about 3:30, but went back to sleep on his own) and it was great!
bells66
Morning all waves.gif

Another one here who finally had a good night's sleep with only toilet trips - yah! Still feeling a bit tired but better than the past couple of days.

Nut - Great scan pics. I had some taken at 31+5 when I was having my gall bladder checked and was great to see bubs at that late stage.

~Simply*Blue~ - Good luck with your OB apt today and hope you get some answers about your scar hurting.

*Foggy* - Good luck with the scan - let us kow how you go.

tep - Hope things settle down for you and the next three weeks goes by quickly so you can be with your DP.

monica - How awful for you - what a negative experience to have so close to having bubs.

bnb - Good to hear that your OB is trying to save you some money. I am lucky - with my new OB you pay one up front visit then the rest is bulk billed aside from the big out of pocket bill and any additional scans etc. We were lucky and got quite a bit back from the out of pocket costs due to reaching the safety net limit!

norina - lovely names you have chosen.

nadine22 - great belly shot. I am still tyring to get DH to take some of mine so I don't have to keep doing self portraits in the bathroom mirror.....!

MrsCas - Gald to hear that all is good with your baby girl! Nothing more stressful than worrying about movements.

CC - Good luck with your move - hope all goes well.

qldmum04 - How exciting to have a date - good luck - will be ph34r.gif for news!

ejox - happy belated birthday. Great news on getting a date. Not long to go now!

Sorry for the long post - trying to catch up while DD is watching a little morning TV.

I have another OB apt tomorrow and DH is coming with me so we will more than likely find out the sex - don't think I can wait another 3-4 weeks! Quiet day for me -have to take DD's enrolment papers to shcool (can't believe my baby girl will be at school next year ohmy.gif ) and we have a kinda friend coming over for some baking and afternoon tea. Am also going to be washing nappies!

waves.gif Sorry if I have missed anyone. Have a great day!

Cheers

Morning ladies,

Bells,Oh you have done well not finding our the gender this far, i hope that when you find out tomorrow, it helps with your plans! wub.gif And thanks, the CTG did give me the reasurrance i needed! The IVF doesnt help with the worrying i tell you.

Foggy,I had my scan three weeks ago, and it was fairly clear then, but they couldnt get a 100% clear shot of bubs head. Good luck with the decision.

Nut, Shame your sister's car has broken down, make sure you keep your legs crossed for another 12or so hours laughing2.gif

Morning ladies,

I am feeling super tired this morning, though I don't remember waking until 3:30 this morning.

I have a scan at 1pm, very excited to see little one again.

Can I please be added to the list (taken off MIA)?

Just a quick one...
One of my sms buddies is on the MIA list and the other one ( cathy217) is due the day before me...
Should I get someone elses number, just incase we are in hospy at the same time and cannot post??
thanks

also,
bells66- HOLD OFF grin.gif . You have done so well to get this far! Unlike me, I needed to know straight away!
~Simply*Blue~
I just realised that my baby hasn't been moving much today unsure.gif It's moving a little bit but definately not like it has been. I'm so glad I have an ob appt today anyway, now I just have until 1.40 to stress about it wacko.gif

bells66
Yes I know we should most probably hold off finding out the sex but I feel like I am not ready/organised enough and would like a little bit of excitement for my last couple of weeks biggrin.gif

~Simply*Blue~ - I have been the same lately - everytime I wake up at night - I have the biggest gulp of really cold water just to get bubs to move! Then I end up going to the toilet more but it's worth it to feel the movement. Good luck this afternoon.

**CharnChayse** - Good luck with your scan!

sardee

Congratulations Kelz! Very exciting and what a gorgeous little bub!

I've been reading but never post much! Just wanted to say good luck to all with your upcoming labours!

I just can't beleive how quickly it has snuck up! 3 weeks to go for me. Although, I am guessing it will be earlier - my last was 1 week early. Also, last night the baby dropped. I'm now feeling the kicks in the middle of my tummy instead of up under my ribs. Anyone know how soon before labour this usually happens? he head has been right down for a few weeks now. I didn't notice the baby 'dropping' in my last two pregnancies.

Simply Blue - I think it's common to notice a decrease in movement in the later stages. As long as you still feel something, I'm sure all is OK. Try not to stress too much today!

Can I be taken off the MIA list?

Hi Ladies,

Had my obs appointment this morning and bub is still 3/5ths engaged. He said she is likely to stay that way untill labour as it is my 2nd and there is more room. Her head is nicely wedged in my pelvis though. I also asked him for an estimate on bubs weight and he said 3.7kg (or 8lb 1oz). So we will see. His prediction with DD was spot on.

Last night for about 30min bubs felt like she was trying to headbutt her way out of there. It absolutely killed!!! DD was watching my and put a hat on my belly to make it better and then also gave the baby a teddy so she would be nice to mummy. So sweet wub.gif

mytwokidz- I have apparently been snoring lately too. Must be a 3rd tri pregnancy thing LOL

bells- I just put the camera on timer and take them myself original.gif

Char- Have fun at the scan. Lucky duck biggrin.gif

bnblewis- I am happy to exchange numbers with you if we aren't too close together......(I'll go check in a minute). Ok just checked and we are about 10 days apart. So PM me if you want to exchange mobile numbers original.gif

simplyblue- I am sure everything is ok. Bub might just be having a quieter day.

sardee- I have heard that you can drop as much as 2-3 weeks before labour starts, so it doesn't really have an indication as such. Just means bub is doing the right thing and getting ready original.gif

Hi everyone

Congratulations on the birth of you baby Daughter KEZ
beautiful pic of a beautiful girl

Sorry haven't read all the post yet, just randomly going through them.

Sorry I know someone asked about toilet training tips...

Because of the age, I would suggest having a signal/sign. Mary hits her right leg when she wants to use the toilet. I am not brave enough yet to leave nappies off, I find she will do poo's in the toilet, but will rather play. I try to make the toilet fun, by singing with her, or she will flick through an old Take 5 or thats life magazine. Mary loves to find, Babies, Mummy's, Daddy's dogs, hats, shoes, and clocks.

Also, I have been having problems with getting the nappy back on, (pull ups are easier). So now I have been randomly adding 10cents or so to the toilet money. No it's not bribery because I have only done it a couple of times, she hasn't known about the money until later. ( you were so good at getting your nappy on, )

Went out to lunch with a friend and her two year old yesterday (Mary too). both the kids were getting loud at one stage, I asked Mary if she wanted a sleep, said yes so I gave her the dummy, was out like a light. MF (Mary's Friend) was still being vocal. It really was not that bad, but my friend said we were getting death stares from the three ladies sitting at a nearby table. ...

SO.... one lady left, leaving behind a lot of food, the other two got up to pay, The owner said something about are you only paying for two meals, and is something wrong with the food They said no she wasn't feeling well. The food they left looked really nice, one had left an omelet hardly touched, and the another was a plate with a really nice salad, you now really red tomatoes, fresh lettuce.

When we went up to pay we told the owner, that we think they left of our account. She told us not to worry about it, that she has kids, so she knows what's it's like, we need to eat, and we were welcome anytime. What a lovely lady. cclap.gif

So Saturday is the Baby Sprinkle (shower) have at least 14 coming, still waiting on a lot to get back to us.
Games we are playing, let me know what you think

How many jelly babies
(guess the number in the jar)
Don't say baby ( guest are giving a bracelet to wear, if they say baby, the person who hears it can take the bracelet off them, whoever gets the most bracelts wins.
Toilet paper game, (how many sheets of toilet paper go around my stomach.
Name game - guest are given a list of clues, and they have to find the name that is the answer. for example a type of screw driver - (philp (s))
Chocolate game, ( DH and I are organising this one) different chocolates and lolly's will be displayed on cardboard, people are gving a list of clues and they match up the clue with the chocolate bar etc. for example You can get three of these bags when having a baby (bounty.) If I get the chance I will post the questions up here to make sure they are not too hard.
Guess the baby stats,
big sister advice for Mary.

Getting the wardrobe in this week, so very exciting.

Congrates lucy on having James home.

Will try and write more soon. I have a very awake daughter, and still need to find my antenatal card, didn't go back in the right place last time.

just going back over some posts I missed + the new ones...

In regards to your tradition - if it were me, I would just let your husband go out and buy a new little outfit for this new one, and keep your other children's outfits just for them in their little keep sake boxes.
I was thinking we would get a new one for DD2, just didn't know if I could use DD1's as another outfit. I do like the idea of keep sake boxes, but also like the idea of getting use out of things too IYKWIM lol.

Tep - have your back pains eased off? I was having tightenings every afternoon/evening for a few nights in a row, but they have eased off now. I hope they ease off for you or turn into the real deal. I couldn't imagine going through that for weeks on end leading up to labor.

jakeruby - for the going home outfit bub can wear whatever you/DH want - it's not a silly question. Just take into consideration how long you will be in the car and what the conditions will be like (sunny, aircon, cold etc). It will also depend on what is available at the shops at the time (unless you are pre shopping). DS came home in a long sleeve shirt and long pants, DD came home in a dress with a turtle neck under it (they are both January babies). Some people go all out and spend a fortune on frilly things, but that's not our style. Some people like to keep babies in wondersuits for as long as possible to keep them more 'baby like' IYKWIM.

laugh.gif I just got why maxalotte was saying 'pick me' ddoh.gif not very slow am I blush.gif . I'd like to say it's my turn next, but I really don't think it will be (pouts).

QUOTE
MCN's I think it depends what brand you have too, BBH's have different washing instructions (not to use vinegar only bicarb)
wwhistle.gif whoops - well there you go, I learnt something new.

QUOTE
did they come with a booklet on what to do at the start?
some came with info sheets, not sure what i did with them all or what they say.

Am just about to have a berocca to pep me up for a couple of hours
Ooooooh. I forgot about berocca. Did you have it in addition to or instead of a multi vit?

Nadine - nice bump pic. I might finally have one today but from front on and with my DS at his school (will have to see if they do actually email it through to me - then I can post it).

QUOTE
Just got back from the OB- (again) feel like I live there atm.
Kylie - I've thought the same thing about the hospital. Just as long as they don't start charging us rent! tongue.gif

qldmum04 - I am so jealous you have a date tongue.gif! Is everything organised at home or do you have a to do list for the lead up?
QUOTE
And since I've been on Tamiflu I am having the most vivid dreams!!
I have too - I would never have thought of it being from the tamiflu.

Cas - physically I have been feeling much better since I left the hospital. Mentally, I'm glad I left when I did. That last experience really has me wishing I didn't have to go back to that hospital ever again, but I don't have a choice. sad.gif . I'm glad your CTG went well - must have been a huge relief for you!

QUOTE
So all in all a positive experience then...
Totally! Many people DH & I have spoken too have been amazed that there didn't seem to be an area already set up for SF patients, or at least a policy & procedure in place as to what needs to happen. I was waiting to get flamed (here & IRL) for bagging our 'wonderful free health system', but so far no one has been game.

Nic - That is really nice that you have that sort of relationship with your sister and she lives close enough. I am looking forward to moving closer to my sister again at the end of the year.

Thanks ~Simply*Blue~

AFM - nothing new here. I have a scan & BP check tomorrow.
at1
afternoon all!

been to the docs, having respiratory probs a little, cough and sore chest started last night. Docs keeping an eye on it and if no better tomorrow morning have to go back for more tests (rule out swine flue etc). Doc said as DS had been sick she wouldnt be surprised if he had it at some stage and we didnt know as he has had temps and been quite ill. Im not worried, I know what needs to be done will be. Bubs just as active as usual. Have the rest of week off work to chill and try and get better.

Going home outfits - I didnt stay in hospy long after DS was born so he actually came home still dressed in his little hospital gown! I stupidly gave it back and should have kept it instead! I gave him his first bath at home and only had 4x0 outfits, had to go out and buy a few 5x0 outfits for him to fit into as the others were all way too big! This time I will probably go home even earlier again (before 12 hours) so will probably just take a little 5x0 suit to dress them in before coming home, one of DS's or one I was given, not sure yet.

Engaging - definately happening here although I wouldnt know 100% as I havnt had a MW appointment for 2 weeks and dont have another for 2 weeks still, but it certainly feels different there now and bubs is really pushing head down there to the point of pain sometimes.

Monica - you just cant get a break huh! It will all be over soon thankfully and you will be holding your little baby and forget about all this, even if just for a little while!

BNB - hope things are good at your next scan, Im sure they will be

ok, off to hang some washing out
~My3kidz~
Okay.... Just packed bubs bag and discovered that I only JUST fit in what I wanted to take... *LOL* Ive got clothes for all occasions, and yes I know I don't need that much, but I can't help myself, I want to be prepared for all scenarios! hahaha...

C.C.S.
Hey!

Had my scan, baby - still a surprise - is doing great - about 5pound 6 at the moment with a 30cm head! They think it should be about a 7 pound baby if I last the 4 weeks to full term! Next to no hair on this one, just like DS, chubby little arms, short legs, great heart beat and blood flow to the placenta... all is looking good.

Still at work so should jump off the internet before I'm busted.

Have a great day!

Char.
~Simply*Blue~
All well at the appointment, baby responded well to the responsiveness test ob did. Just stressing over nothing, he did offer me a ctg at the hospital but decided against it, afterall I'd just heard the heartbeat. He did say if I was worried though to head straight to the hospital. It's moving around right now anyway.

My next appointment is next friday and I have to do a vaginal swab for it, I've never done that before.

Only 3 weeks to go as well! So at my next appointment I'll only have 1.5 weeks to go! Can't believe how fast these last few weeks are going!!

Char great news on your scan, I don't know how you can stop yourself from having just a little peek at the gender!! I wouldn't be able to help myself, it's driving me mental not knowing!
mikejuliet1
Just filling in time before the school pick up so I thought I'd add...

Angalea (at1) - I really hands.gif that you don't have SF (or even need the swabs done). Yes a break would be nice lol (Not the sort you are meaning, but I think we need to plan a nice holiday for next year - something to look forward too as a family of 5).

Jen - what are all these occasions/scenarios you have? Well help you cross some off the list. yyes.gif

Char & ~Simply*Blue~ - good to know you bubs are going well.

How is everyone going with their washing, packing, setting up etc? I still have some washing to do, get DH to set the cot up (put the side back on and raise the base), make the cot & put the car seat in (I think that's all unsure.gif ), oh and repack my hosp bag & pack one for bub (I seem to do those just before heading out the door in labor lol).

I attended grandparents day at DS school this morning. I missed the mothers day activity & the GP's live too far away, so I thought I'd better go. We watched the primary grades do their performances, then the GP's had morning tea before going down to the class rooms to do activities with the children. While at the morning tea I was shocked by the number of GP's and parents pushing in line for food/drinks & also filling up their plates with 6 slices of cake oomg.gif . Would this shock anyone else? Or is this 'normal' for school functions? unsure.gif

The last of the fluffy mail arrived today ( dev (6).gif well the last till after DD2 arrives anyway). It is a Wild Child Baby Bling that I brought when I wanted a 'pick-me-up' last week.

Better go get DS...

Omg what a crazy morning-

Went to bed last night realizing that I hadn't felt sprout move all day, as compared to the weekend where he was super active. Bit stressed about that, esp after DH and I had had sex as he normally moves or kicks or something in the lead up to it, but nothing. then this morning i woke up with period type bleeding luckily I had an OB appt at 9.30 so got jakey up and headed off. He sad that everything looks ok and the bleeding is prob from us having sex but there is no harm to the bub. He did an internal and then a CTG to monitor bubs movments (he moved 9 times and I didn't feel any of them).

Blood went away, then I came home and the cramping started. Then I had to call two realestate agents, put an offer on a place, and organize the sale of our home. Then I cleaned the house all the while cramping (stupid i know I shuold have sat down). I put jakey to bed at 1 and then started our BAS. Went to the loo and had more blood, called the mw and she said ummm sounds like your in labour i'll call you back. So then I finished the BAS and then realized two mins before the mw called back that the bleeding and cramping is prob from him doing an internal this morning and I was right she called and confirmed my thoughts. So yeah busy busy stressful morning!

Sorry had to get that all off my chest the weird thing is, is this exact same thing happened with Jakey at the exact same time but with jake is was exactly 36wks and with sprout im 36 and 1day! strange.

sorry for no personals just wanted to share going to go have a rest while jakey is asleep.

ps glad to hear most got a good night sleep last night!!

OK, just about to go out again but forgot to ask:

Has anyone ever had shingles? What's it like?

Is anyone else obsessed with checking the toilet paper/underpants for a show and then being disappointed when there is none?

PS - Vick, glad it's all worked out and you don't need to stress anymore. original.gif
*Foggy*

Nut and Jakeruby -

Thanks for the info on the 4D scan original.gif Nut - I can see exactly what you mean by your pics - 28 weeks gives a great view of face etc... 35 weeks, not so much. I also called the ultrasound company, and they gave similar advice.

I've decided not to do it. It's $200 for a moderate package, and the ILs were going to pay $50 towards it... but we really have more important stuff to spend $150 on. MIL seems disappointed... But not much we can do. I didn't realise she was so keen... if only she'd mentioned it earlier!

Charnchayse - all sounds like great news! tthumbs.gif

- hoping that cough doesn't develop into anything more sinister!

mytwokidz - you are funny - you make it sound like you've packed a ball gown! Tounge1.gif

I wasn't going to take my dressing gown... it's too bulky. Do you think I'll miss it? I was hoping to get dressed in track pants and hoodies for the day... and and if I get up at night I could just put my hoodie over PJs, couldn't I?

simplyblue - glad you got some peace of mind today original.gif

mikejuliet - do you have pictures of your WC Baby Bling? They're a bit too fancy for me (we're on a tight budget for our MCNs so they're all workhorses!!), but I still like to look at piccies of the pretty ones! biggrin.gif

vickbeth - after all that's gone on for you this morning, you need a cuppa and a lie down! oomg.gif

NUT - only 19 days to go!! ddance.gif My Google ticker says I have 24 days left until the C section date..

Has anyone ever had shingles? What's it like?

Mine appeared on my lower back. They were red, raised and itchy on the surface, and very painful underneath the skin. It was a long time ago - I was only 12 or so, so hard to remember exactly. I believe I caught them from someone who had the chicken pox virus (I'd already had chicken pox, and the Dr explained that shingles can sometimes result from the same herpes strain...)

I've had friends who have had them without pain, too... so perhaps they can be different for different people.

Do you think you have them, mikejuliet?

vickbeth23
Mj- yup right up til this morning I was dissapointed- how funny dissapointed when its not there then when there is something i get worried! Good to know i'm not the only weird one looking for grosse stuff! biggrin.gif

Sounds like a good plan to me.

WCBB its the blue/gray with bird & flowers up the top. DH had already told me there was no way were were spending that much on 1 nappy. But after my really crappy day he realised it was worth it if it cheered me up a little. hheart.gif

My SIL thinks it's probably just a pregnancy itch, but she also said it could be shingles. I don't have a rash so far, but apparently you can get the itch before the rash appears??? I've never had it before. My main concern is DD2 catching CP after she is born (which I've read is possible).

blush.gif no you're not the only one Vick.
*Foggy*
MikeJuliet, that WC is gorgeous. And it's really best I don't go browsing through the rest of the site... ! I haven't bought any extravagant ones yet... I'm just in super frugal mode (boring, I know!) But if I have a down day/week, I just know a pretty nappy would cheer me in the same way it did you. Glad your DH was understanding wub.gif

Can I ask whereabouts you're itching?

I'm just wondering if you're starting to get PUPPPs, which I've just recovered from. It's supposed to affect women around 35 weeks, although mine came on early and lasted for ages wacko.gif Began with itching on my sides (no rash at first). Then a small bumpy rash appeared in the same place (sides of abdomen), then it spread accross whole of tummy, then to arms.

If the itching continues or gets any worse, give your hospital a call for some advice. The midwives in my hospital said they like to check liver function just to rule out anything serious.

I wish I'd actually gone into my hospital and shown the rash to the midwives... they definitely would've known what it was. Instead I saw three different GPs, none of whome were able to diagnose PUPPPs! It got really bad (I scratched so much I bled on PJs and bedsheets! oomg.gif ) before I finally got the right treatment... sad.gif

Can I ask whereabouts you're itching?
If I put my palm under my right breast with my fingers pointing left, it would cover all the area that itches. It is like intense and sometimes almost 'prickly' itch. I've tried everything from changing bras to going topless & it doesn't matter lol. No new soaps, no redness or flaking etc. I knew someone had posted about PUPPS, but hadn't gone back through the threads to check (and my search function hasn't been working). I think I'll ask the MW tomorrow, but unless a rash develops between now I then I'm not sure what they'll be able to tell me?

Hello everyone waves.gif

Haven't had a chance to catch up with all of the posts yet, but just thought I would quicly ask if anyone else is feeling really unsociable at the moment? ph34r.gif

Just got off the phone from DH and we have some friends that are staying down here for a month due to the hubby's work. They are really keen to catch up and have made mention that they would like to see us more than once whilst they are here. That is great and considering we haven't made any friends down here you think I would be jumping for joy with some company - but I am not ph34r.gif

Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to seeing them, but just really not in the mood for socializing right now blush.gif After spending all day looking after a 3.5 year old and then with another child in school, the housework and everything else - I am feeling very tired, sore and over it. They know that I am heavily pregnant and due really soon (infact induction date has been set for 10th August at this stage) so they are also going to want to see bubs aswell.

All this is fine, but I feel really guilty that to be honest I just can't be bothered with visitors right now ph34r.gif Not sure how I am going to feel after bubs is born, but going by past experience I will want to lay low for awhile then aswell.

Am I horrible for thinking this way blush.gif
