Hi, I am so confused. My lmp was oct.23. It is now dec.7. I have had 2 hpt come back faintly positive. My first blood test the hcg was low at 63 and my second one was lower they just said continuing to decline. I havent had pain or bleeding. I have an ultrasound in a week. What does this sound like? Chemical, etopic or is there hope I have no idea. We have been ttc for over a year so I am so frusterated and scared to have a miscarriage but it does sound inevitable doesnt it or can hcg levels rise after falling?

I'm so sorry to hear that this is happening to you. I can't say whether or not your hCG levels will rise after they have dropped. I recently had a m/c and my levels rose from 27 to 54 then dropped to 33 and yesterday it was 17. AF also showed up.

You are in my thoughts and I hope that your little one stays with you!

Take care.

I just didnt want to read this and leave I am so sorry that things are so upside down and not easy to understand, I had a friend who had high hcg levels but they kept telling her they were going down but didnt explain that they were high though so it didnt matter if they went down a little, I dont want to provide false hope though, its one of those awful times when you just have no choice but to wait it out, I want to provide support and if you need to chat just pm me I hope your ultrasound is a good result. So sorry for your stress. My friend by the way had a healthy baby boy.

Hi Sharm,

Firstly, I am so sorry this is happening to you. HCG levels can be a little unpredictable and low initial levels don't necessarily indicate an impending m/c, however your levels should be doubling every 36-48 hours. Declining levels usually indicate something is wrong. Has your dr booked another blood test for you? Or can you request one? Is it possible to bring your u/s forward?

I hope you don't have to wait too long for some results - it is agonising not knowing.

I have everything crossed for you and hope everything is OK.

Let us know how you get on.

Take care,

Hi Sharm, I am sorry to say this but it doesn't look good, declining HCG are a bad sign but your u/s next week will give you some answers I am sure.

Sometimes our bodies can take a while to register a m/c. I know with mine there were no indicators of a problem until I was 11 wks when I started spotting. It was strange because only a day before the spotting I had done another HPT which came up positive. I was to find out later that the baby had stopped developing at 6.5 weeks and yet a pos HPT was still coming up.

Definately don't give up hope just yet though, I know my story is a bad one, just wanted to give you an idea of what happens.

If this is inevidable as its sounds than I wish it would just happen so we can get on with trying again. This waiting is taking a toll on me. Each day I am fine I feel hopeful and I pretty much know there is no hope. Thanks for all your honesty and hopefully I can put this behind me soon.
