Hi all

My 5 month old ds is now really into rolling everywhere when he is in his cot and if he just wakes up for a couple of mins he will try and roll or will if i don't get to him and he is also wiggling up the bed i put him in a sleeping bag to go to bed then try and tuck him in with just a light sheet (in the warmer nights) but usually finds a way to kick the sheet off so is there any way of stopping him or is it just impossible now?

I've only got 1 bub, currently nearly 9 months old, so not a lot of experience with this. From what I've read/heard, once they start rolling then you can't really stop them. I think that the risk for SIDS is less once they're older and rolling. I've got DD in a sleeping bag (I don't use an extra sheet/blanket to "tuck" her in) so no worries about kicking off the blankets or getting her head under the blankets.

nope, nothing! you can get the sleep and sound foam things that stop them from rolling over but IMO, that would be to dangerous as is using rolled up sheets. my bub was rolling at 3 months old and you would think he needs a bigger bed the way he moves around! we have just removed all blankets as his face was under them a couple of days ago.

mine rolls over onto his tummy to sleep no matter what I do, and has been doing this since the early days - we lasted about 10 days with wrapping, as he would just unwrap himself and roll over (big strong boy).

He manages to keep his legs covered, which is all he needs in the Qld summer..

I've been going mad wtih this exact same problem!!

DS learnt to roll front to back a few weeks ago and just a week or so ago, back to front. Since he's started rolling back to front, he seems to have forgotten how to roll back again. So bed time is horrible now, he just constantly rolls over onto his tummy. If he was going to sleep like that, I wouldnt worry I'd just wait till he was asleep and turn him back over, but he's up on his arms looking around at everything, I flip him over, he laughs and a couple minutes later he does it again! This goes on until he's too tired to roll over anymore and he goes to sleep
