One year ago tomorrow (7th Jan) I gave birth to my precious Piper. One year ago I was the most scared I have been in my whole life. One year ago I met the most beautiful and bravest girl in whole world. One year ago I became a mummy for the first time.

Thanks so much everyone for thinking of us. The day went okay, just so hard

Wanted to share with you all something we did to mark the day. Here at inlaws they have a lovely large property. Shannon and I today bought this tree and it was a big family affair as we planted it together this afternoon. It is a native which loves the tropics (there a few around here) that flowers in the summer and has beautiful pods. Caterpillars also happen to love it and hence lots of butterfly's! we liked the sound of that

It can grow up to 4m, but we will keep it to about 3m. It is not fully finished yet, we will put a paver border around it and woodchips and small flowering plants. We are also making a sign saying "Piper's tree".

We plan to take a photo every year on her birthday

So here is Shannon and I after our hard work (hmm well I did a little being on modified bedrest!) and also the plant tag that shows how it looks when mature. The photo is a little blurry, it didn't like being shrunk down so much.



and here we are, shannon is all sweaty and I'm hot

It's incredible how fast time flies... happy birthday little princess.

The tree looks like it's going to be a magnificent sight, and with the butterflies, all that more special for you all to see and share.

Was the most beautiful girl you ever saw.
Piper entered the world with such strength and grace,
With tiny hands, little feet and such a beautiful face.
It was too early for her to have arrived in the world that day,
But fight with such might did little Piper Rea.

With a Mummy and Daddy who love her so much,
