HI all...
I regretably had a D&C on Friday at 12 1/2 weeks. Well, a termination really due to small sac size, no hormones, the placenta not working, slow growth and chromosomal defects.

Anyway, I was wondering about the bleeding afterwards issue as I only bled for 12 hours (if that) and haven't bled since. They told me a week to 10 days, maybe 3 if I was really lucky. Do you think it is ok to NOT bleed for long? Would it be due to fact that the placenta was not actually working and I had already been bleeding for a few weeks (well, brown spotting anyway)??? I am slightly concerned and really not sure if I should worry? Thanks heaps.

Firstly, sooooooo sorry you had a loss! Hope you are doing OK.
Re the bleeding - I had a MC at 11&half weeks in Jan and too only blood for a day ... but I did bleed old blood a weeek or so after being 'dry' - had more US and HCG's done and it was all normal. In saying that have had AF 27 days post MC and actuall at CD 10 started spotting old blood AGAIN ... so am not too worried as have had US and HCGs done a couple weeks ago and normal - so I guess its all norm to bleed on and off (off for you at the moment!) I think it is more of a concern if you bleed fresh blood or heavyish and if associated with pain (or smelly discharge re infection)

Take it easy and hope time makes you feel better! Cliche I know but it worked for me.

Firstly, sending huge amounts of hugs and sympathy. I also have just had a MC, followed by a D&C. I bled for 6 days before the D&C and within a few hours of the D&C, had no more bleeding. That was two weeks ago and I never experienced any more bleeding after the day of the D&C.

Hi Meeche. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.

I think the fact that you've stopped bleeding already is a good sign that they gotten all of the tissue and none was left behind. I was told after mine that I may bleed for up to about 10 days, yet I only had very light bleeding for about 2 days. All women are different, I guess.

I hope you find some peace soon....
