DD is getting a swing set and cubby house for xmas so we're putting that up atm. Have work xmas party tomorrow night, then taking DD to see the wiggles on saturday and have a b'day party to go to on sunday. Still busy busy busy....

I think I will still be here in January too. No signs as yet, but then she isn't even meant to be due for 2 more weeks - maybe she knows it!
We just had 2 massive storms in a row! At least it has cooled things down a bit.
Mommak said she was probably having her C/S at 2, so maybe she has her baby.....so exciting!

hi everyone
huge congrats on the new arrivals, thought I best pop in and let you know that I'm off to be induced tomorrow morning and remarkably feeling quite calm about the whole scenario - had a sas on Tuesday and have been spotting and crampy since but the good news is I was already 2cm, hoping that with the cramps I've had I might be 3 by now.
Looking forward to not being pregnant as the top of my tummy is so tender and sensitive now it hurts to wear anything that may rub against it, mind you, I'm sure something will replace it in terms of the irritation factor fairly soon.
Best wishes to all and I'll post as soon as I can with an update!

Congrats to Squeaker on your pigeon pair. Glad to hear they are doing well and gaining weight
Congrats also to Shooshie. What a birth story and what a beautiful name
I hope Mommak's C/S went smoothly today. I know she was stressing about it ... I can relate!
Fforster - I can sympathise I've had a toothache on and off for the past 6 -7 months and I've been told I'll probably need root canal therapy after the bub is born. Sounds painful and expensive.
Well I'm off to hospital tomorrow. Had lunch with my parents today and heading into the city for a romantic dinner with DH tonight. I'm sure it will be a while before I do that sort of thing again! Just trying to keep my mind off the C/S.
I hope by the time I'm back home and posting there'll be lots of new babies! Good luck girls xo

Congrats Shooshie!!
Wow - lots of new bubs! Congrats to everyone - too many to list!!
So sorry so many of you are going through a tough time with family illness etc. FX everything works out. What a terrible time of year, and with the stage of pregnancy. I feel for you all and send out big
Ruby had a weigh today, and has gone beyond her birth weight - in 2 weeks! I thought she was looking healthy! This is one bub designed to breastfeed - which throws my bottlefeeding ideas out the window! She has decided!
DH and I are going out for dinner Sat night, for our 11th wedding anniversary. Were going to go to gold class, but cant find a movie we want to see! Might be a good chance to "chat" about what he expects of me post c/s, as he has been no help, esp in terms of cooking, and driving me around! Tonight he asked what I was doing for dinner - my response was I should be asking you what you are doing for dinner!! He just says I am working! GRRR. This no driving bit is making me mental, but I have been advised not to rush it, as the long term repercussions in terms of what can happen with scar tissue (as it is my 4th abdominal surgery) can be nasty. Maybe next week ...
Made the Christmas pudding today with DD1 and will do the CHristmas lasagnes next week. Too busy, and very tired now.
Good luck with those going in today, tomorrow etc.
Cant wait to hear all the news!
Hayden Riley Kettewell born at 3.20pm 16 Dec 2010, 3.820kg (8lb 7oz), 51cm. All doing well.
Congratulations - I am pretty sure it is Mommak! I forget who I am SMS with now!

Congratulations Mommak. I love the name Hayden! Hope you are doing well.
Well it's 5.30 am and I have now been awake for over 4 hours with this damn toothache.... my face feels like it's about to expolde with the pain so will have to see if I can get into dentist tomorrow to get a prescription for something stronger than panadol..... maybe panadine forte just so I can ge some sleep in.
It's DH birthday today and I was convinced last night that I would be in labor by now as I was getting some serious movement and kicking down below for several hours....I was just waiting for waters to break and almost excited that the pain of contractions might take my mind off the pain in the right side of my face (pretty sad I know)! Off to Midwife appointment in a couple of hours...maybe she will have some good news for me about when this bub will come!

Good luck today Herewego!
Sun_kissed, my midwife is predicting January for me, so you won't be alone! Had my 38 week appointment on Monday and all was well. That was a big milestone for me, because last time that's when I got the slightly high BP reading that turned into a whole heap of unnecessary monitoring and intervention. But this time it was a fine 120/70 - yay! The baby is very happy but nowhere near engaged.
cathy15
17/12/2010, 06:36 AM
congrats Mommak!!! Love the name
OK so i have been awake since 2.30am. Woke up feeling weird and realised i was feeling wet.. not like soaking wet but enough that my knickers and pj shorts were damp so got changed and when i picked them up off the floor about 30mins ago they still feel damp and look wet so i wasn't imagining it whatever it is (not sure if it is enough really for my waters but dont remember peeing myself and surely that would wake me up!!) Then around 4am went to the toilet to find a little bit of blood but again not much and then just now and a heap of clear mucus. Around 4am got woken with this band of pain around my back and lower stomach *ouchies* hurts more than all the braxton hicks i've had so far but still not convinced it really is anything .. just thinking maybe the raspberry leaf is kicking in (i've only taken 2 tablets so far) and is starting to prepare my body .. i dunno. Have midwife appointment at 11.30 so we'll see what she says. For now the pains are very far apart so not counting myself as being in labour or near it but they sure are annoying!!!!!! Told DP he needs to get the carseat in and checked today tho just in case (his boss is making him do the Outer North run today so he'll be up around North Lakes, Caboolture etc for most of the day so really dont want this to be labour!!) so i think i scared him a little cos he tried to ring me asking how urgent is urgent? Ohh another pain dammit!!

DS is spose to be going to vacation care today but i don't think we'll make it somehow cos i don't wanna walk there.... just in case! Tho i have to walk to midwife a bit later
going to go and get some breakfast, take some more raspberry leaf and see what the day brings
Good luck Herewego and pink monkey!!!

I had severe tooth pain about a month or so ago, and need to get root canal therapy in January. The dentist drilled the tooth and put in a temporary filling. The pain was just incredible and I felt so much better afterwards. If you can get an urgent appointment to see a dentist, you should!!

Cathy: That all sounds very promising!!!! I know this maybe TMI but the midwives usually ask if you smelt the wetness?? Sweet smell is amniotic fluid where as you usually know what urine smells like. Thats if you haven't already washed them. Also apparently if you break the forewaters there smaller than the hind waters?? (or vice versa not sure LOL). Oh and if you sit or lay down the water usually comes out compared to standing when the head acts like a cork (Okay think I may have read the labor section of my book a little too much

).
Alright might go take some rasberry leaf now if it works that fast!fforester: Sorry about your tooth pain that must be terrible! Hope your DH has a good birthday.
Errin: I will hold you to that don't go early LOL!

Congratulations Mommak.
I love the name Hayden. It's what I really wanted to use if Squirt is a boy. I've always liked it and one of it's many meanings is from the 'heather-hill.' My Nan's name was Heather, so I thought it was kind of a sign or something but DH just can't come to the name (like every other name I really like

)
Still waiting for some sort of a sign. Don't think I've even felt any braxton hicks yet... I was kinda hoping Squirt will come next week as DH can only have holidays at christmas because he owns his own business. Would have liked some time as a family before he has to return to work. Still time, I'm thinking about trying nipple stimulation next week. Has anyone else tried this? I've been eating spicy food, walking, having sex, taking raspberry leaf tablets. Guess the baby is going to be stubborn like me

and it'll come when it's ready not when I say so.
cathy15

im still not convinced. Getting a lot of oozing almost gushing when i stand up it all looks like mucus kinda and it's mostly clear, occassionally a touch of red in it. Really think it's just the raspberry leaf rather than the baby. Get the pains about every 30mins or so but im trying to ignore them for now..just as i start to think maybe they have gone away tho i get another one. Looking thru the book the hospital sent out everything says "RING THE HOSPITAL" if you are unsure if your waters have broken put on a pad and ring the hospital. If your waters have broken ring the hospital and put on a pad. Blah blah. I did put on the pad cos of all this mucus crap its easier than changing knickers all day long but i haven't rang the hospital.. see what the midwife says first cos like i said im not convinced, it all seems to convenient from my taking the tablets.. the bottle says about getting the uterus ready for labour which is why i brought them cos i thought it might help soften the cervix and make the labour shorter..not bring it on!
If baby is ready to come you wouldn't know it.. he's still quite active, spent last night happily booting his brother again which Jontae found mildly amusing!!
FX this is a false alarm!
sun-kissed - i couldn't really decide on the 2.30 ones, i did smell them cos i know they are meant to smell different but couldn't decide. Smelt the pad before and it smelt kinda sweet so i dunno! Hopefully the midwife can tell!!!

17/12/2010, 09:30 AM
hey
mandaandstarr - sounds like you've tried the same checklist that I have! every little bit might help, but at the end of the day we are not in control! only bubs knows when they will begin their journey! (frustrating much?!)
I tried the nipple stimulation - all i managed to do was get a little drop of liquid (colustrum?) which wasn't as exciting as contractions but still something new!
hubby is delighted that sex is back on offer - every time i phone him at work he asks "are you ok? everything all right? do i need to come home?"

darlin is getting so excited while i'm trying to be calm and patient!
i've been drinking raspberry leaf tea - i made it up in the teapot and then put in the fridge so i have lovely refreshing ice tea to sip on all day!
all these babies arriving is so exciting! we're on a roll with boys arriving the past week or so! wonder if my bub will come so we can add him to Team Blue this week!
take care all!

Congratultions Squeaker, Shooshie, Suz1987, Kimby and Mommak!!!!!!!!! So exciting!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe we have so many new babies already! I haven't logged on for about 4 days and it's babies galore
Wonderful news indeed! Hope you're all recovering well and your babies are fabulous.
I had my 38.5 week scan on Wed and told my Ob I was definitely ready to meet the bub. He did an internal and unfortunately this little bub aint ready to join the party yet.
at this stage I'm booked in for another scan next Wed 22 Dec and I'll be 39.5 weeks. He has booked me in for an induction on 30 Dec if bub doesn't join us before then. COME ON BABY!!!!!!!!!!!
Up until this point I've felt really relaxed and excited about the birth and meeting this little one and now I"m beginning to feel a bit anxious. Not scared, just anxious about getting this show on the road. Is anyone else feeling like this?

Everytime i start thinking im imagining things and all i've lost is my plug, i finally get another pain but they aren't so strong so either its very early or its gonna peter out which im hoping for. I have DS home with me, DP is over the other side of town today it's just not a good day! I am going to get offline now, shut the computer off and take DS for a long walk ending up at the midwifes since it's spose to rain again this arvo ugh.
Hopefully when i get back i can tell you all this is a false alarm and there might be some more baby announcements YAY!!
Have a good day ladies

afm - I was up half the night in soooooooooooo much pain. No contractions, just the worst period type pain and pain in my hip. Same again this morning when I got up. Now just heaps of pressure down below and in my butt! No sign of my plug though. I hope the period pain means something is happening????
Congratulations to all that have had bubs in the last week. I've been a bit slack. It's all so exciting. And to all those who have been worried about being the last one here - don't worry, I've been practically the last one in both my previous pregnancies. We will stay in here until all of us have our gorgeous little ones in our arms.
Need to go and try and cool down. Wonder if the storm is coming today!
Oh yeah, I've decided to stay with DH for the moment. He is still as frustrating as hell and doesn't think I'm doing enough. When I said he needs to be more loving and understanding he said he's to stressed about stuff and that would be multi tasking! What the?? Men

Edited to Add - For those of you talking about starting to take Raspberry Leaf tea/tablets, I've been drinking it since 33 weeks so it's not something that is going to suddenly bring on labour. It helps soften the cervix and assists the uterus with its contractions. It may help labour start if you were already going in to labour anyway.

Kitty - it is good to hear from you. I have been wondering if you were overdue or in hospital.
At my appointment today, nothing was mentioned about bub being engaged. But my stomach was tightening while the MW was feeling around, so I guess things are happening. She was going on and on about natural methods of induction (again) but I told her that I want to wait until the 1st, so maybe I shouldn't try them yet. For those of you desperate to try, her suggestions are to bounce on the ball, eat about a pineapple a day (for lots of pooing stimulates the uterus to contract - doesn't sound like fun at all), long walks and exaggerated walks up and down stairs (not sure if that meant big steps or legs apart type steps!)
I think I will wait until the 31st. Which, mind you, is a long way away and I may get impatient!

Cathy said that going into labour today would be inconvenient - so he arrived!

I've been getting the same period type pain. Wouldn't call it a contraction either because it's constant and doesn't come and go. I hope it means something is happening too.
I've been taking raspberry leaf tablets for about 2 weeks now because I heard they can help shorten labour. The tablets aren't doing anything to induce my labour if anyone was hoping that they might have that effect on them.

Cathy - Congratultions - so happy to read how your day panned out - wwelcome Nikolas Levi. Great news....
I thoguth today was going to be mine. Felt really tired morning then lunchtime had the biggest pain stretching pelvis - and lower back. it went on for long minutes (ok it was forever! seconds) it actually brought tears to my eyes. Then kicked in again at 15 minute intervals. Just when I was thinking yahoo here we go - they stopped after 1.30hours. pain is not where I would expect, so do you think this is just strecthing pelvis pain?
Now they have started again. All in the lower back.
We'll see how it progresses.

Congruatulations to Pink_monkey! Glad to hear everything went well since she was a little apprehensive about the C/S.
I just spent all day at a breast feeding class. So hopefully now I am equipped with enough knowledge to help it all work for me rather than against me.
I had a fair bit of low tummy pain yesterday, but today is fine...so maybe it will still be January before I am done here. Probably just as well as I as I need to be free to keep updating these lists!

Wow, it's raining babies - Congratulations to all!
My little Kate is an angel, feeding and sleeping well. It is soooo much easier the third time around, although I did forget how difficult the c section recovery was. I am day 12 now and the pain is just starting to pass to more of a soreness. It probably helped that the plasters came off yesterday. Breastfeeding is comfortable now and my DD;s adore their new little sister although my DD2 (just turned 3 the day I was home from hospital) is a bit rough so I can't leave them alone together.
Good luck to all those still waiting. I will try to post a pic tomorrow.
Hope those will new bubs are recovering well.

Hi ladies, well I've been in hospital last 2days with tooth infection which has spread. My face is extremely swollen and I am hooked up to Iv all day long.
To top it off my waters broke about an hour ago so looks like bubs will b here in 24-48 hours. Will keep u all posted....mild contractions at the moment which r 12 mins apart so we're in for a long night.
