Boobie prize here!!!

How is everyone?

LGP: Your scan pics are awesome! wonderful!

Bec: congrats on 12 weeks and good luck with the room changing around, we have shuffling around to do once we move back as well.

jmh077: congrats on your successful scan, must be wonderful to be able to relax original.gif

Honey: more power to you with the exercise, I'm flabby because I'm allergic to exercise wink.gif hehe. Good luck getting back into it!

Mel: No resolutions here, but I do like yours! I don't really believe in them, it's a nice idea but I always forget them in a week hah

AFM: Just been chilling with hubby off work and taking the kids places, been swimming and to the Museum of technology. Looking forward to my flight to Sydney next Sunday and my scan on Monday. Can't wait, I have no idea how DH is going to survive a day with the kids by himself though.. I think I'll hear his cries across the tasman!
I think I can say morning sickness is gone for good, it's been a week now but I'm still tired alot and started to want milk more. I just look so bloated, my neighbour is sure I'm 5 months preggers.. so sad.. so embarrassing wink.gif.
MissusBee
I'm so excited for my 12 wk scan on Wednesday after seeing LGPs!!

I think my MS is gone - I'm still hungry a lot (ah ha ha!) and still napping, but I don't have the shaky queasiness that I've been having from morning until lunch, and from 4pm until I go to sleep!

Glad to hear everyone had a great Christmas and NY - we had two couples over, one of which announced she was 14wks along! DH told me I am so bad at secret keeping, we didn't tell them, but apparently all I was doing was talking pregnancy facts with her and then making up cover stories as to how I knew (ie, heard from my SIL or from ladies at work). Will be so nice to just be able to tell people.

Another plus is that my guts are starting to round out a big - I always tend to poke out a little in front, but until this week, the little bend in the middle has indicated it's all been food - I do prefer the round ;o)

Something I'm not going to miss is the Clexane injections I've had to give myself each day - bring on August, I say!
jojo82
Holy moly i've been Mia for a week and have missed a whole thread lol guess i better try and catch up.

Hope everyone is well, I still have MS and fatigue but as long as i eat frequently i'm ok. I still can't eat normal portions i find i fill up super quick and then feel bloated and massive afterwards sad.gif

Ok am off to cook dinner, but promise to come back later and try catch up

Honey~Baby
LGP - wonderful scan pics. I called DH over and told him that is about what our bub is looking like inside. Just amazing I cant believe that they can be so small and look like a baby already.

Bec - congrats on getting to 12 wks. I cant wait till this time next week to cross that threshold.

Mel - I call them goals. Mine is to finish my Childbirth Educator Diploma I started 2 years ago before bubs arrives. I really dont have much left and I know it will be much harder once little one is born. I would also like to have DD2 Toilet trained but I am going to be flexi on that one.

MissusB - What do you need the Clexane for if you dont mind me asking?

AFM - I am feeling really really tired and not napping every day. I really think I should be as I just seem to have no energy especially when the weather is warm/hot. Also craving milk. DD1 left today with her Dad and girlfriend and it was a bit sad to see her go for the week. Although being that she is nearly 14 we are getting on eachothers nerves a bit so a break always does us good and we miss eachother heaps. Off to make Quiche Lorraine for the 2nd time and hoping that the first wasnt a fluke as it was fantastic!
jayz~mel
LGP - Soooo cute!! I love that they are all looking like babies now!! I can't wait for my 12wk scan next week!! ARGH next week!! WOOHOO hehe.

AFM - I've decided that I'm going to start putting things on layby once I've got the OK from my 12wk scan. We need a new pram because DS's is making shocking noises now and I've found one I really like at Kmart. I'll be getting another carseat too, DS's is at my parents place and it's always been such a bugger to swap them around the cars when my parents are watching him, so I'll just get a new one and they can keep that one. Kmart is my new fave shop. They are so cheap now, but they have really good quality stuff IMO.

I'll be around 12w4d at the scan. I'm going to ask for a sneak peak between the legs. I've studied a lot of 12wk between the leg scans and am pretty sure I can tell the difference now original.gif

DP is cooking us sketti bog for dinner tonight. Can't wait. I always thought mine was the best till I tasted his. He dated an italian chick (well she claims she's italian, but I just think she's crazy and he agrees now :lol) during our 2yr split and he cooks fantastic sketti bog now!! Not that he ever cooked it before, so maybe it was always this good haha.

xx Mel.
OurLittleDarling
LGP - Gorgeous!! Do you have a feeling for what sex it is yet?

Mel - I'm not one for resolutions either but I have to totally agree with your 'delivering a healthy baby' one. I definately want that! I'm going to ask to do a sneaky between the legs at 12 weeks too, I reeaallyy want to know!

Honey - I craved milk for the first few weeks (always been a soy drinker) and now I can't stand any dairy. Just had yoghurt and raspberries though and it was absolutely lovely! I love that food tastes absolutely awesome at the moment when you get it right

MrsB - I'm also curious, what are those shots for?

Do you guys have a 'preference' for the gender? I'd really love a girl and although I'd still love my little boy, I just think a girl would be more suited to me and DF for a first time baby. Fingers crossed I guess!

hheart.gif Amanda
MissusBee
Amanda - I broke my leg last July and then got a number of blood clots as a result! They found out I have factor V lieden which means my blood is more likely to clot than the 'typical' person. I came off warfarin in March, which is when the last of the clots were really small, but because a full 12 months hasn't passed without clots, they thought it would be safer to keep me on blood thinners while pregnant (you're all at an increased risk of clots, so please be cautious!).

I have to have the needles once a day until 2 weeks after the baby is born, or until a month or two after if I have a cesarean. The only potential effect it can really has is if I've had a needle within 12-18 hours before labour, they won't give me an epidural.

Besides the first one I gave myself where I had my first (and only to date!) breakdown of the pregnancy (it hurt and we had people coming for tea and the house was messy and we didn't have food in the house and I was tired and shaky), and the bruises I get on every couple of them, it's not so bad. But definitely something I could do without...
Lilura
hey new thread, missed the end of the last one ><

Still feeling quite sick here, and lamenting the fact that nothing actually tastes good or feels like it feels me up. Stupid appetite.

As for gender, we'd love a little girl original.gif but are expecting a boy Tounge1.gif (damn you genetics Tounge1.gif)
OurLittleDarling
MrsB - ouch! I hate needles wink.gif I used to take baby aspirin when we were TTC as this was meant to thin your blood and help feed your uterus, so same kind of stuff I guess. I hope you have a safe natural birth so yoi get an extra month off the shots!

I'm 11 weeks today! eexcite.gif

Hi Girls,

Gender - we won't be finding out & as we already have one of each I guess it doesn't matter too much what this one is. DH & DS both want a boy, DD wants a girl (obviously) but thinks it will be a boy. I guess if I had to choose I would say I would prefer a girl, only because DD was such an easier baby than DS.

I have tried to convince DH to go & look at some baby shops today but he wants to stay home to finish building the shed. sad.gif

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

LGP - Love the baby pictures!! How lucky you have had your scan already. So cute!! I can't wait, but I won't be having mine until the 13th Jan - SHOULD be 13w+1. Seems so far away!

Satiress - I hear you on the m/s easing a lot, but be warned, don't be like me and get all complacent! The two times I have said to my DP that its gone, it comes back just to remind me! But having said that, it is few and far between now. And I can eat eggs for brekky again! Couldn't stomach them for so long, and am glad I can eat them again!!

To those who are craving milk, be thankful you weren't is SW Qld! Due to severe flooding the roads have been closed, and for days and days the shops have been out of milk, fruit and veggies. I have never known anything like this. Doesn't help that I crave bananas and there aren't any! But, at least today I have word that Woolies is now stocked up - but probably not for long!!

Well, New Years was great, went to my BIL's and at least everyone that was there knows I am preggers so no need to come up with excuses! Our families were very excited to hear our baby news on Xmas day. My MIL will be getting 3 grandchildren next year - she is so beside herself with excitement!! (one is due any day now, the other in about a month and then me in July!) Its nice to be able to share baby stories now! I don't feel left out anymore.

Question: did anyone find out what the sex of your first baby? My DP wants to know, but I just assumed we'd have a suprise. Now I am trying to work out if I want to know to. I can see his point.... I do know that if I don't find out and he does, he will not breathe a word to me or anyone about the sex of the baby. He is amazing - is like fort knox with that kind of thing! If I knew, so would everyone else!!

Also... word of warning for those of you who are gardeners - DON'T use Round Up or poisons like that. I sprayed prickles the other day, and my SIL was horrified. Apparentley it has something in it that can cause a mutation in the baby (like extra fingers, toes, etc) Scary stuff. Now I am worried! oomg2.gif Was in a spray bottle so am hoping all is ok!!

Hope you are all feeling better as we begin to ease past the 12 week mark.

1stJellybean
LGP - AWESOME pics of your baby original.gif Can't wait until my 12 week scan to make sure all is good in there.

Quick question for all... has anyone experienced a tiny amount of spotting when expected period would be due (2-3 tiny spots). I had a little last night when I went to the toilet. It didn't continue but freaked me out a bit. Relaxing a bit more now because of the small amount and now it appears to be gone. Can't wait until the 12th for my 12 week scan!!

Hope you are all doing well!!
cute*as*a*button
Finally I'm back!!! Been waiting soooo long for my cousin to fix my computer. A big thanks to my brother-in-law he came over last night and fixed it. So glad to be back on here. But know I have a heap of catching up to do.
Hope all is well with everyone. Congrates to everyone who has made it to 12 weeks!

Snap! Me too ddance.gif

OurLittleDarling - I used to be Soy drinker too but Naturopath recomended I go to full fat organic cows instead. I now have it buy the glassfull yummy and greek yogurt every morning. Had frozen raspberries for desert last night yummy. Nearly covered them in double cream but decided to be good.

MissusBee -
What a pain for you. Good that you found out before you got preg though.

Mel - I also love Kmart and the stuff is good. Prefer kids and baby clothes at Target though.

Gender - We feel like we have a boy in there. Last time we knew it was a girl and confirmed it with U/S. We are still undecided if we will find out this time. We agreed not to when TTC but since my BFP I am keen to know. I enjoyed the mid preg surprise last time and also felt that it made it easier to bond pre birth. I really wanted a girl last time as I had enjoyed DD1 so so much but this time I really dont mind. This will be our last but DH and I are both happy either way. For me I feel like another girl would be easy as I know what I am doing with girls and I think 3 sisters would be lovely like the Charmed ones! A boy on the otherhand would be a whole new kettle for me as I dont even have any brothers. I would enjoy it for the difference though and I might find out why so many women turn to mush for their little boys. So either is good. I just want to know though.

LGP
Hi ladies,
Hope everyone is having a good start to the week!

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments on the scan. It was actually from my dating scan - I was a bit late in having it and was a bit further along than we thought. My 12 week scan is on Thursday (I'll be 13w+1) so I'm hoping for some more pics to share! Can't wait to see everyone else's too!

Amanda - funny you should ask about gender. DP and I have been thinking girl all along but when we watched the baby on the monitor we both got a boy vibe... Might have to google some ultrasound pics to study up before the scan! Although not sure I'd trust my untrained eye. So hard to wait until 20 weeks...

Babylee - it must be awful from the floods. Even if you are not immediately in their path, the effects will be so far-reaching. Hope you get some milk and bananas soon! I've been craving milk and also white bread (which I normally HATE).

Satiress - great to hear that your ms is easing. Hope it's smooth sailing for you now (and for everyone else who has been suffering).

Honey~baby and Lilura - congrats on hitting the 11w mark! Not long now til the end of the first trimester.

Re: shopping, I've already bought a cot (there was a really good post Christmas sale at parenthood) but it won't be delivered until March so I don't feel quite so bad. wink.gif I think after the 20 week mark there will be no holding me back!

No new year's resolutions here... Except maybe not to spend too much on baby clothes!

hi all
im Jade and im from Adelaide, i am currently 10.6 weeks pregnant due on the 26th July. this is my first baby and my partners second. i am very excited but due to bad mornign sickness havent been enjoying it so far. i look forward to getting to know everyone.
lisa_81
Hi all, I'm also new. My name is Lisa from Brisbane. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow so due on the 19th July. I'm having my NT Scan tomorrow so hopefully everything is all good. This baby is mine & DH's first so we're both looking forward to July and for me to stop feeling sick. In regards to gender I'm hopeing for a girl as there is only 2 in both of our families and 9 boys, however DH wants a boy. Not too sure about finding out, I want to but at the same time I don't.
satiress
Hi lovely ladies,

Gender: We will be finding out, we did for our girls as well. It's surprise no matter wether you find out at 20 weeks or the birth original.gif Plus, we're both planers, so I liked to buy all the pink things and do the nursery up all pink, and name the baby, by the time both girls were born we were so bonded already.
In saying that, whatever works for each person original.gif

Welcome Lisa, I am also Lisa hehe, congratulations on your pregnancy.

Welcome Jade and congratulations too.

Lou, yay for a second scan this Thursday! You lucky thing. Good bargain shopping for the cot, and good luck not overshopping for baby clothes, I still haven't learnt! ha!

Babylee: hope you can get some fresh supplies and stock up, stay safe.

Honey and Lilura: woohoo on 11 weeks, it's really starting to feel 'real' now isn't it original.gif

Welcome back cute as a button original.gif

1stjellybean: hope the scary spotting stays away for you, I'm sure it's nothing though hon.

Bec: I can't convince my DH to look at baby shops either, he has no interest hehe, I feel your pain!

MrsB: ouch with the needles, you poor thing!

That's all I can see from here, sorry to anyone I missed.

AFM: took the kids to the pool today which was lovely, then a lazy afternoon together hanging out at home, it was relaxing, if not for the 3 year old tantys... original.gif
Hubby back to work tomorrow, so just me and the kids and I'm starting the packing up for things to take to Sydney with me on Sunday to drop off before our move, trying to spread out the amount of luggage we take on our final trip. Can't wait original.gif

take care ladies xx

1st jelly - spotting when your period is due is absolutely normal. If you get any pain I'd head to the GP just to be safe but it's very common and normal original.gif

LGP - oh I might head to parenthood today, is the sale still on?

Welcome Jade and Lisa

Satiress - I'm a planner too, I can't wait to find out the sex, I'm going to try figure it out from the 12week nub, I'm that impatient!

honey - SNAP!! We'll if our dates change at the scan otherwise we might have to be birth buddies wink.gif

AFM - still feeling horribly normal. DF back at work today so just trying to keep myself entertained.. A friend had her little boy last night, we got a text at midnight. What a star!! I can't wait to meet him, just waiting for her to give the ok, hoping it's this week. Weeee! Anyway I'm off, might go cot shopping and watch some Mad Men wink.gif

gender- im like lisa. i have found out with all of mine. the surprise is still there at the end. the over all feeling of birth and your baby is a huge miricle and surprise original.gif we are finding out this time too.
if you are going to find out dont go over board with pink or blue because if the u/s person isnt giving you a 90% it could be wrong and you dont want to spend time and money on things that you dont need. i know a few people that have been caught out.

good luck to everyone having 12 week scans. love seeing u/s pics.

welcome to the new ladies. i hope you all have wonderful stress free pregnancies.

lisa- im sure your hubby will be fine with the kids. original.gif

amanda- i always say that my pregnancies are boring but boring is the best. enjoy. have fun cot shopping original.gif

cute as a button welcome back. hope to see you more in here

afm- dh and i went baby shopping yesterday with every other pregnant couples in canberra lol. we were looking and change tables and prams. next time i go in there i will be laybying original.gif
my midwife called this morning which was super exciting. i wasnt meant to hear from her for another couple of weeks. she is coming to see me next tuesday. i will be 12w. they dont usually see you until 16 weeks but she is going on holidays. thankfully she is going now and not when bub is due. so excited i will be able to hear my bubs hb. then wait 6 weeks to find out what we are having original.gif

most of us have ended to horrible 12 weeks and start the best trimester. there is still a few of us counting down. 1 week for me lol

hope everyone is feeling well and having a great start to the new year xx

Hi Ladies,

Ok going to try and use everyone's names so I can't make my baby-brain remember finally original.gif

Jade - Welcome and congrats on your first pregnancy. I live in Adelaide too (Mt Barker) where abouts are you? Hope the morning sickness doesn't stick around for much longer.

Lisa (lisa_81) - Welcome and hope your NT scan today went well.

Amanda
- Normal is good, worrying at times but good. I recall mentioning this to my OB saying it makes me paranoid and he's like "you're complaining about having no morning sickness" haha. Mind you I do have rough days every now and then...

Hope you found yourself a nice new cot original.gif

Lisa (Saitress) - Glad to hear the morning sickness has gone original.gif Sorry to hear your 3 year old has been naughty with tantrums, my 2 year old has been about the same. Hope packing isn't too tedius.

Catherine - Awesome that you get to see your middy earlier than planned original.gif Thanks again for keeping the list up-to-date!

Gender - We will definitely be finding out with baby#2, 1.) because I'm impatient and 2.) I'd like heads up in case I need to replace all of DD's clothes with boys and buy some more gender specific gear.

AFM
- Had my NT scan and bloods this morning (those on the FB group would have seen my pic) and all looks good, bub seemed pretty happy bobbing around in there, hb 158bpm, won't know the official NT results until the 18th Jan when I have my OB appointment.

hi all
Michelle: im at Brahma Lodge in the Northern subs

Gender: i will def be finding out both DP & I want to. I was surprised with a BFP so it's all exciting knowing the se or not. we want a girl only cos DP has a son already but im happy as long as bubs is healthy thats what matters.

got a prescription today for maxalon which seems to help with morning sickness. i find it quite sad that it is now routine to vomit bile every morning im so used it lol. it has been worse last few weeks as i haven't been able to eat much so praying this helps and morning sickness eases up from now on.

I have a friend who is due in April, she is starting to rub me the wrong way lol she has had no sickness and so far a smooth pregnancy, i find she calls me a sook and a whinger when she asks how im feeling and i tell the truth, she whinges about being uncomfortable yet i throw my guys up every day and not allowed. sorry for the vent i just find im dealing with some negative friends. anyone else?
hills mum bec
Hi girls,

Michelle - Gorgeous scan pic, how exciting! Can't wait to have mine on Thursday, but like you I won't get my results until 18th Jan.

Jade - I grew up in Brahma Lodge & lived there until I married at 21. I lived in Tindola Street. I live in Lobethal now, will you have your baby at Lyell Mac?

I have been trying to have a nana nap this afternoon but the kids were too noisy & the phone kept ringing. The phone was switched to fax so I don't even know who was trying to call, grrrr. Of course now that I have got up the kids are quiet & the phone has stopped ringing.

Hi Everyone,

Wow there has been a lot of catching up to do!!!

Welcome Jade & Lisa and congratulations - I am also expecting mine and DHs first bubba - very exciting.

I am 11 week and 2 days today yay - can't wait for the scan, I am on the countdown big time lol.

As for finding out we are definately not, love the suprise original.gif DH has 3 brothers and it will be the first grandchild on his side so they are hoping for a little girl - as for my family, my dad has 2 sisters, 4 daughters and 2 grand daughters so he is seriously hoping and praying for a little boy he can take to the footy, it also would be nice to break the drought, we are starting to think we can just not make boys lol.
We haven't really got a guess yet - the ring test says boy but really with both our families it is looking 50/50.
We are happy with either original.gif no preference.

Has anyone got names picked out? We have a girls name picked that is for sure and then still choosing out of 3 boys names - i like to be organised and I want the baby to be named the minute he/she pops out.
I know of 2 people that were told the sex of their baby and then on delivery day it popped out the opposite so thats a big reason we are against finding out.!!!

As for buying things I can't help myself - I lay buyed a porta cot, car seat and pram the other day (major specials) and have already got some other things, other then clothes all I need is a cot!!!

Anyways looking forward to entering trimester 2 with you all (1 week and 5 days for me) and only a few days for some of you - very exciting....

Lets all hope we can kiss morning sickness goodbye.!!!

Can't wait to see everyones scan piccys

LGP - oh I might head to parenthood today, is the sale still on?

I was told the sale would be on until the end of Jan. They were offering 13.5% off stokke. It's still pricey but I have my heart set on this cot so was happy to snap it up. Came with some extras too.

Also - Would love to hear your expert opinion on my scan when I get the pics later this week. I tried studying ultrasound pics but it gave me a headache!

Cathy - thanks for keeping the list up to date. It's a lot to keep on top of!

Welcome Jade and Lisa. Sorry to hear you've been so sick, Jade. Just ignore your negative friend. You can vent all you want here!

Michelle - thanks for sharing the scan pic. What a cutie! I'm sure if they had any concerns they would have raised it with you or you would have heard from your OB. Sounds very positive.

Laura - Glad to hear someone else is shopping up a storm. With all of the sales on at the moment, we'd be crazy not to, right? happy.gif

A friend has her 20 week scan tomorrow. I'm so excited for her. That's going to be us soon enough!

MissusBee
I really shouldn't complain - it sounds a lot of you have had it a lot worse!!

Catherine - any recommendations for baby shopping in Canberra? I'm currently considering a trip to Sydney to check out the IKEA stuff... That said, a friend of ours got their whole nursery set up for $350 because babies are us had tagged some of their stuff wrong - it was worth over $1000!

DH thought it felt too soon to go shopping for us, and he's probably right. He also hates shopping wink.gif

Hi again,

Jade - Eeek your MS sounds nasty, I couldn't image being sick like that daily you poor thing. Your friend sounds pretty cheeky calling you a whinger though, I would be tempted to slap her Tounge1.gif I only announced my pregnancy to everyone today so time will tell if I get people making stupid comments.

Bec - Ooh good luck with your scan Thursday and hope you were able to sneak in a nap. DH is having a nap as per usual (it's a daily thing whilst we're home on holidays), you'd think he's the pregnant one.

Laura - Wow you've already bought lots of things lucky duck! original.gif I haven't bought a thing but I'm thinking of buying some stuff online tonight now that I've had my scan.

Names - None officially picked, though I have about 30 girls names I like (which I'm sure DH won't agree to) but find boys names really tricky (which will mean I'll probably have a boy) original.gif

Amanda - Really you think a boy? I thought that nubbly bit was the bub's leg so didn't think I could judge the angle of the dangle yet hehe original.gif If I am that's pretty awesome, my sister will finally stop pestering me, she wanted DD to be a boy and she's already saying she wants a nephew, she's obsessed.

Lou - Look forward to seeing your scan too, I love this time of the pregnancy (though of course 19-weeks is pretty darn exciting too) as we get over the 1st trimester bump and it starts to feel real.

MissusBee - IKEA is awesome, I haven't been in ages. I hear they have a great high chair, simple make and really easy to clean without all the hard to get to nooks and cranies.

AFM - Whilst DD was sleeping I sent DH to pickup my scan results and had a bit of a read of the report. It says "gross morphology appears normal", the NT measured 1mm max thickness and their current EDD is 11w6d which is only out from my EDD by 3 days instead of 6 like the dating scan (though I'm not going to bother changing my EDD again, will stick with my dates I think). Of course still waiting on bloods but so far so good, very happy. cool.gif

Laura - sounds like you're super organised with buying baby stuff, what pram did you get? I got rid of all my baby stuff after DD, as this will be our last we will get by with second-hand stuff & borrowing. A new pram is probably the only thing I will splurge on as it does get a lot of use. I haven't settled on any names but have a few picked for a girl but really struggling for a boy. Like you I would like my baby to have a name as soon as it is born.

Michellle - I have heard that those IKEA high chairs are great. You can get one that is very similar from Target but it comes with a cover & footrest & it only costs a bit more.

We got two of the ones from target the other day - and they are way better than the ikea chairs - they have a 5 point harness which is way better than the piddly think that does up around the waist on the ikea. I have thrown out my ikea highchair now and the other hard to clean one. I love these target ones and they only cost $57 and so easy to clean!

High Chairs - Will need to have a looksie at Target, $57 is a bargain! I bought a lot of DD's gear was bought from there last pregnancy (including her cot). DD's high chair was an old hand me down (the original baby it was bought for is now 16) and its well and truly stuffed, bits kept falling off of it, so will need to replace it.

Names - I'm the same, I'd prefer to have a name picked out before bubs is born. DH and I decided on DD's name the night before I was booked in to be induced as we just couldn't agree previously (plus she was born 2-weeks early).

We also chose a boys name as a backup just in case they got the sex wrong (only had 1 gender check at her 19-week scan and the person was very vague). Not that keen on the name now though - Cameron Sean. Plus Sean is my nephew's name and would prefer not to reuse it.

Lots of girls names but suspect DH and I won't agree again...
OurLittleDarling
I'm happy to offer my expert opinions on all the scans as long as you all know I'm no expert wink.gif

Shopping - haven't done too much this year but 12 months ago we got a vintage pram which we'll use as the bassinet, a car seat, a baby bjorn and a few clothes, so I guess we only really need a cot, change table and pram (we are getting an iCandy pram)

Names - we were talking this last night, I have a girls name which we liked from the day we decided to try, so I guess that sorted, and there is a boys one we like too. Having said that, I'm pretty confident things will change over the next 6months original.gif

Michelle - from the pictures of nubs that I have seen, that's one in your pic. And that upward angle makes me think 99% boy!
P.S. If it's not the nub then obviously I can't tell but it looks like one to me original.gif

He also hates shopping wink.gif

haha my hubby hates it too.
the new baby bunting in fyshwick is great. im getting my pram from there. i get my car seats from target. there is a new target opening in belco in march. babies r us have some good deals too. they are also in fyshwick. baby wombat in belco has some really nice stuff but expensive. also mums and bubs in fyshwick is really nice too but again expensive. i say expensive but its expensive for us. it might be alright for you.

im struggling to find somewhere that sells maternity clothes. i think i will have to go to target. i dont like buying online when im pregnant. i need to try things on original.gif

names we have picked. i always go in with 2 boys names and 2 girls names even when we now the sex.

michelle- sounds great. im glad everything is ok original.gif

having a quiet night watching the tennis. its so nice not having the kids here but im missing them.

shopping: we put a cot package on layby today lovely cot, change table, chest of draws, and mattress, cant wait to set it up when we pay it off. we already have a bassinette, bouncer, swing, porta cot and carseat for DP's car. have picked the pram and carseat just saving now for them. surprisingly organised for me but we are excited so have done lots of looking around original.gif

Names: we have picked a girls name and think we have picked a boys name. but time will tell i guess

Michelle: it's nice here in Brahma Lodge pretty quiet, i grew up in the Barossa and would love to go back but its just not an option for now.

congrats to all who have made it to 12 weeks, i am 11 weeks today and have a scan tomorrow can't wait. the otherscans look amazing cant believe how much they look like little bubs.

Sorry to off topic, but I only just realised I am not meant to be handling raw meat at all?

I'm vegan, so I don't worry about eating undercooked meat, but our dog eats chicken for dinner each night and I feed him more than half of the time! Better get in to those disposable gloves I bought...

Surely if I had caught something from the meat, I would be feeling unwell?
hills mum bec
Missus Bee - I think handling raw meat is fine as long as you wash your hands afterwards. It is only if you ingest the raw meat when it becomes a risk.

Welcome Lisa and Jade!

Jade - It's not nice that your friend is being so negative. My BF is not that bad, but she asks how I am, and when I tell her, she says 'That's just the beginning' or 'It's only going to get worse'. I know that, but doesn't mean I don't want a bit of sympathy and that I want to be reminded! You'd think women who have been through it as well would be a bit more sensitive!

Laura - If I beat my sister (who is three weeks ahead of me) this will be the first grandchild on both sides of the family. We don't mind is it's a boy or girl. My FIL thinks boy and has a bet with DH. The winner gets a bottle of single malt whiskey, which I daresay they will drink when bub arrives! We've been talking about names too, but can't agree, so we're each writing out own list (DH's idea) and closer to the date we will compare lists and hopefully have some the same!

Missus Bee - DH hasn't let me go shopping yet, so I've been doing a lot of 'online browsing'. The only thing I've bought is a pair of socks after our first OB appt. I've told DH I'm going to buy something after every scan or appointment.

AFM - I actually went out today as I was feeling a bit more human. Did a bit of shopping and had a haircut (Yay!). By the time I got home I had a headache, but it was nice to get out of the house. I'm looking for a good maternity pillow at the moment, as I'm waking up every morning with a sore back from sleeping funny. I want one that is a 'U' shape because I turn a lot in my sleep and don't want to flip a pillow over everytime. They're quite big though, might not be room for DH in the bed!
I'm going to start researching prams now. I'm looking at the Strider Plus, P&T Hammerhead (love the name) to start. I'm interested in the travel systems. Anyone used them or have an opinion?
jadeykiss
megan: i have a body pillow DP bought me for xmas and i love it, i have a lower back injury and this pillow really does help me sleep. we are going to get the strider plus pram, it is big but we both really like it and it seems to be really good.
CraftyGinger
Jade do you know where he got it? Toys R Us have some on sale at the moment, but my closest store was sold out. Going to ring around tomorrow.
satiress
Morning ladies,

Megan: I have a body pillow and highly recommend them, I think hubby got it from babies galore. But I know that some bedding stores have them, maybe even Myers?

Jade: Negative friends are worth the time, this is such a happy time in your life (even hugging the toilet bowl) and friends should be supportive and sensitive. Bite back at her, put her in her place original.gif Or ignore... that could be good too hehe

MissusBee: As Bec said as long as you don't ingest the meat and you wash your hands after handling it, then all should be fine. minimal risk as a vegan original.gif

Cathy: I said on FB but Angel maternity on ebay is pretty good, I have quite a few items of clothing from them, well priced and as mostly cotton, they wear well. I found the sizing to be true to size, maybe some pants a touch small. (maybe more asian sizing)

Target high chairs: look awesome, I already have a great Fisher Price one but if I was buying again I would certainly get one.

Michelle: congrats again on a great scan, from the nub I would also guess boy original.gif

Names: We have a boy name picked out, we've had it since Bella, we also have a girls name picked however our close friends are pregnant due June and they use traditional names (as we do) so I've panicked that they might pick the same girls name... silly I know, so we're going to think of a back up just in case. They are that close of friends that it would seem funny to name our babies the same name iykwim. (they are bellas godparents!!)

Shopping: Won't work out what I need until we are moved back and settled in Sydney. At this stage the only maybe purchase is a new pram if Audrey isn't a walker by the time bubs is born. And of course, if it's a boy, I have to do a lot of shopping to change everything from pink to blue original.gif

AFM: Going along well here, nothing to report, quite boring actually... DH decided to stay up late last night so I didn't get to sleep til after 1am, then he snored all night, I am so tired and cranky. Just looking forward to going to Sydney on Sunday and my scan on Monday... woohoo!! can not wait to see everything is fine.

take care ladies xxx sorry to anyone I missed
OurLittleDarling
MrsB I agree, make sure you wash your hands and the chopping board really well and you should be fine.

Lisa - yay scan soon!!

I'm starting to get bored now that DF has gone back to work. Any suggestions of things I can do?!

Hey Ladies!
Just gotten back from the pool. Been swimming laps, I forgot how hard it is. Never mind had some good 'me time' while doing it.

I haven't brought anything yet for this bub. I have everything from my first two, however if I happen to have a girl than I'm going to have to buy pinks and purples. (I would love to buy pinks and purples!!!)

Dont think we are going to find out the gender untill the birth which is going to kill me not knowing. We found out for the boys but DH said this will be the last baby so he wants to experience the surprise thing at the birth. I'm thinking the baby is going to have a little doodle but 50/50 chance I guess.

Been feeling ok for the past couple of days which is good. I dont like the 1st 3 months of pregnancy so hopefully it will be all good from here.
Hope all is well, chat soon.
