I am an advocate of homebirth, having had seven myself. I have 8 kids, but my second son was stillborn at 25 weeks so he was not born at home.

Right now my DIL is trying to conceive and plans a homebirth and has blessed me by asking me to support her and catch her baby. I am delighted! It will be my first grandchild, although I still have young ones myself, but I am really ready for grandchildren! Best not get ahead of myself by getting excited before she is even pregnant I guess.

I have also offered her the use of my waterbirth pool - kept since my last baby. She is contemplating having the baby at my place as their flat is too small.

It's great your DIL has the wonderful support to make the decision to homebirth.
I'm sure there is no pressure from your son.

I had my mum at my 2 home births ( she's has 6 children herself, but hospital births) and she was an amazing support during labour. I caught my own babies but she cut both their cords with DP's and my blessing.
