Hi girls, wondering if you could tell me approximately how many new born nappies we will need. We are trying to get them all before the baby comes. I just don't want to go overboard and have her grow out of them with boxes left over.
Any suggestions or advice would be great - thanks!

I would say only get 2-3 boxes of the newborn size, then buy more when baby is born so you know boy/girl for the next size up - they tend to grow out of newborns fairly soon.

That is a really hard question. My DD2 only wore them for two weeks as she was 3.94kg and 54cm. Where as DD1 wrthem for 6weeks and my nephew wore them for about three months but he tiny. What we did was buy a box plus a bulk pack for hospital. We then put a little bit of money in an envelop to buy clothes and nap pies once bub was born. Much easier that way

I'm currently pregnant and my friend advised to get 2-3 boxes (huggies brand she is referring to). Her son was on the small side and it took him ages (3-4 months) to get out of 0000. And she only needed 3 boxes. Hope that helps.

Thanks girls - I've got 2 boxes of the new born huggies - I might leave it at that for now.

Id stick with the two and keep the recipt just in case if you still have it. Bnappies is one thing i wouldnt stock up on, once they start growing out of themn thats it. If you keep using them it creates all kinds of mess lol.

It really depends how big your baby is. I bought a box of baby love newborn and two bags of Aldi newborn. The babylove had to be returned as my bub was 9lb and wouldn't have been able to use the nappies in time. I went through quite a few newborn (aldi about 4 bags. 1 bag of Huggies, a bag of Woolworth Homebrand newborn within the first few weeks.) Don't go overboard on just one size. Get a next size up if you want to stock up. They will always fit into them eventually, but a box of half-used newborn nappies are just a waste of money if you can't use them. Also, the size of newborn nappies vary. I found the huggies nappies smaller.

Yep, my babies have all been around the 4 kg mark and we only used two packs (not boxes), so not even a box in the end. Then we've jumped to in between infant nappies which I couldn't find in the boxes so have used the Safeway brand ones as they are 3-6 kgs, we're still using those at 5 weeks.

My girls were both 2.8kg at birth and we used probably 10 boxes of newborns before moving up! It definitely depends on how big your baby is and how quickly they grow.
I did find that the weight range on the box seems a bit wrong. It seems like if your baby is 1 kg below the lower weight range (say 5-8kg), they'll be ready to move up to that box even though they're under that figure.

We bought a couple of boxes, 2 big babies later and we still haven't used them all!
