My Beautiful Dad passed away from Cancer 9 days ago, and his funeral was on Monday. He was a wonderful Dad, always very hands on, and did so much for my brother & I. Family was everything to him.
I miss him so much. Everyone keeps saying "atleast he is at peace now" or "he's not in pain anymore". I know all this, butI just think I t shouldn't have happened to such a wonderful person in the first place.
Tomorrow is Father's Day, and I'm trying to make it as special as possible for my kids & DH, but I don't have my Dad to shower with love.
I know he'll be watching, so I'll wish him a Happy Father's Day, but I just wish the whole day could be cancelled this year.

Oh, the year of firsts. I lost my Mum two weeks before my birthday. It really is so hard when things are fresh. Take care of you, make it special for your family, let yourself grieve.
My condolences, we are never prepared to lose our parents no matter how old we are.

My condolonces to you and your family. Mine passed away 16 years ago (3 days after his birthday) and to me it's like yesterday. May you find the strength and love to get through tomorrow and beyond. Take care.
I agree Madmother (we are never prepared).

thinking of you xxxx
no matter how old we are i don't think we ever lose the belief that our parents are invincible.
i know how you feel, it's been 7 years here, my birthday was yesterday, it marks 7 years since i saw him alive to the day and it hurts as much as it did 7 years ago - i get through father's day for the sake of my husband and children, thankfully he empathises my pain and understands if i go quiet for a little while.
i hope today is gentle to you xxx
